Trump Administration Considers a Drastic
Cut in Refugees Allowed to Enter U.S.

Washington—The White House is considering a plan that would keep most refugees who are fleeing war, persecution and famine out of the United States, significantly cutting back a decades-old program, according to current and former administration officials. One option that top officials are weighing would cut refugee admissions by half or more, to 10,000 to 15,000 people, but reserve most of those spots for people from a few countries or from groups with special status, such as Iraqis and Afghans who work alongside American troops, diplomats and intelligence operatives abroad. Another option, proposed by a top administration official, would reduce refugee

I read "drastic" as "long overdue." Let's have the zero option, along with repatriation of those already here. It's a foolishly unaffordable luxury to host Third World refugees in the developed world, it's cruel to them because they cannot function here, and it's disruptive to the rest of us who are compelled to shoulder the burden.

Don't hear much about immigrant caravans anymore. Have they been stopped or is the media no longer talking about them to protect them from deportation? Our immigration policy has had negative consequences. That is how we ended up with people like AOC, Tlaib, and Omar in Congress. Our immigration policy has lead to tax hikes at state levels. It has lead to increased crime. This needs to be corrected. The Trump administration is doing the right thing curbing immigration. The NY Times doesn't like this? Nobody cares what the NY Times thinks.

(Milan, Italy) An Italian soldier was stabbed in the neck Tuesday by an attacker brandishing a pair of scissors in front of Milan’s central train station—and later shouting “Alahu Akbar,” according to a report. The man fled after the unprovoked attack shortly after 10:45 a.m. in Piazza Duca d’Aosta and ran toward Via Vittor Pisani but was stopped by paramilitary Carabinieri police officers, according to Milano Today. He apparently shouted “Allahu Akbar!”—Arabic for “God is great!”—as he was being arrested, the news outlet reported. An investigation was launched to determine if the attack was terrorism-related.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee stepped up its conflict of interest investigation into Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, demanding Monday that she turn over documents related to communications with her family’s shipping business. Democrats are probing whether Ms. Chao took action to benefit Foremost Group, a shipping company owned by her family. Since becoming transportation secretary in 2017, Ms. Chao has made public appearances with her father, who founded Foremost, and planned a trip to China with him to meet government officials. In that time, Foremost has received hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from a Chinese bank to build ships
