Some House Democrats will return early from the summer recess to advance gun control legislation, including a bill banning large ammunition clips. The House Judiciary Committee announced a Sept. 4 vote on a group of measures aimed at reducing gun violence.“For far too long, politicians in Washington have only offered thoughts and prayers in the wake of gun violence tragedies,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said. “Thoughts and prayers have never been enough. To keep our communities safe, we must act.”The Democrat-led House passed a universal background check bill in February but the GOP-led Senate has ignored it so far
OK, House Dems, first you can remove any ammunition your armed security carries.

They can ban the magazines on my firearms all they want, but such a ban will be meaningless.

Nice headline grabber, Susan. It's about banning large ammo clips [sic], not ammo. Is there any journo in DC-land not stupid or a sensationalist?

Make no mistake; the ultimate objective of the left/Democrats/Communists is the complete disarmament of the country! They will try to accomplish this by creeping legislation, bans and finally, confiscation! It is not about the "children" it is not about "safety", it is not about "protecting our communities". No, it is all about control and suspension/elimination of the Constitution! Anyone thinking otherwise is willfully blind or complicit. Period!

The headline is totally bogus.
The are NOT proposing an "ammunition ban", as the moron who wrote the headline says, they are proposing a ban on normal capacity magazines. Their LIE of "high capacity" is just that a LIE. These are the NORMAL magazines that come with these rifles and handguns. And they are needed in serious self defense situations, which is why the police use them, too.
End this madness. These inanimate objects are NOT the problem, insane people running loose is the problem. We need more mental institutions, especially with all the drugs out there, especially legalized cannabis, which adds to the number of mentally ill in our society.

Please. Words mean things. Magazines are NOT clips. Clips are something different. Look up a clip for a M1 Garand rifle or a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle if you actually care. Trust me a clip is NOT a magazine, except in a B movie where the "hero" loads "bullets" into his "clip". In the real world we load cartridges into magazines.

First, enforce the laws already "on the books." Don't plead down by eliminating the gun charges. Agree with community leaders in high crime neighborhoods that suspects in violent crimes will be arrested and punished, and find the sources of illegally obtained firearms.
But DO NOT infringe on my Rights because of what criminals, amoral and nihilistic people and insane people manage to perpetrate.
All of these Congressmen take and Oath to support and defend the Constitution of the USA, not bend and grovel to emotion (regardless of how grievous the harm). Haste almost always makes waste, and when we're talking about our Liberty, haste is always dangerous. There's a reason the Founders wanted the Amendment process to take time.

Am I the only one thoroughly repulsed that an asshat like Nadler and toadies like him can lord over the citizens? If there's enough interest in tar and feathers, I'll be there with bells on.

Nadler, so far, is batting zero on every proposal he has put forward. This is just more "Playing to the Cheap Seats".

Get an Immigration Bill first. There's the real carnage. You haven't accomplished anything for the last 2 1/2 years except trying to remove our President with a silent coup. First admit your ineptness.

Conservatives are accused of offering 'thoughts and prayers' and Democrats respond by offering unconstitutional restrictions on the 2nd Amendment aimed solely at legal and responsible gun owners. Someone who is determined to do a mass shooting is not deterred whatsoever by 'gun control'. These idiots advertise the best places to do mass murder by calling them 'gun free zones'.

So the people who can't legally own guns but got them anyway won't be able to get the banned ammunition? SHM.

Never let a good crisis go to waste when the goal is to destroy the 2nd Amendment. How about a ban on silverware to end obesity.
