This Scientific Breakthrough Could Increase

A new scientific breakthrough could increase the odds that Hillary Clinton, 71, could enter the Democratic primary in an effort to unite the party behind a tried and tested (albeit twice-failed) candidate in 2020. Clinton, whose unsuccessful 2016 campaign was plagued by challenges related to likability, balance, mobility, health scares, corruption, incompetence, and hubris, will be thrilled to learn that researchers at Keio University in Japan have developed a piece of technology that could mitigate at least one of those factors in the event she decides to run again. This week, the American Civil Liberties Union raged against a civil rights policy that has already been law for decades. It would be funny, except it misleads people who trust organizations like the ACLU for accurate information. That is wrong. On Tuesday the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced a straightforward proposed regulation that should be noncontroversial. This regulation simply clarifies that, when religious employers contract with the federal government, they retain the right to hire employees who support their religious missions—just as they do for all other hires under the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964. Former Vice President Joe Biden, in December 2018, said, "I am a gaffe machine." File that under the category of truer words have seldom been spoken. President Donald Trump benefited in the 2016 presidential contest because the unfavorable numbers of his opponent, Hillary Clinton, matched or exceeded Trump's own unfavorable numbers. This time, in his bid for reelection, Trump's opponent could be Biden -- at this early date, still the front-runner for his party's nomination. Trump, of course, has been harshly attacked by Democrats, the media and even some Republicans for misstatements, exaggerations
