Rot of journalism ethics at New

There’s not a single journalist, dead or alive, who hasn’t missed a story, made a mistake or mangled a quote. It comes with the territory of writing history’s first draft on deadline, with the consolation that there’s a new story and new chance tomorrow. But a certain editor at The New York Times cannot be consoled. His flub was no ordinary one, for he was insufficiently hostile to the president of the United States. When Donald Trump is the president, that is not a mere mistake at The New New York Times. It’s a sin, potentially a mortal one.

Remind me again of a time that the NYT EVER had any ethics? Was it when Durante covered up Stalin's murdering millions of kulaks in Ukraine? Or was it when they got the Pulitzer Prize for that series of lying, Soviet propaganda reports? Or has it been in the ensuing 80 years that the NYT has ignored calls to give back the fraudulent Pulitzer? All my adult life, since the 60s, the NYT has been a center of leftist propaganda, with little to no regard for the truth. Sure, they have become more and more unhinged as time goes on, but I know of NO time when they were an even handed, fair source of balanced news. Not EVER.

This has gone way past rot. They're into bleached-bones territory now as far as any kind of ethics at the Slimes.

When they openly hired a female racist, we saw, if we hadn't before then, exactly what the NYT wants to do -- they want to deliberately create an atmosphere of hatred against white people, especially men. We have enough of that in academia, H'wood, and pop culture. We don't need more but apparently the NYT thinks we do.

Ironic that the CEO of the NYSlimes allegedly ran interference for Jimmy Savile (et al) when he was Director General of the BBC. That was just the most glaring example of ethical lapses at the BBC during his tenure. He escaped town before the whole affair Savile blew up (took a pay cut of 43%). Having driven the Beeb down the crapper, he's working his special brand of magic here in the US.

This is nothing but a news filibuster...when the 'news cycle' portends difficulty for the 'establishment', you intrinsically pick on the NYT. The NYT offered 'cover' for 20th Century Fox (News Corp) scam known as 'Avatar' in 2009-2010--all on the same team of criminals. Hannity, Levin, Tucker all play along...

The NYT has been rotten to the core, probably during my lifetime, 75 years. I am delighted to report that I have never purchased a copy of that Communist rag. I'd love to hear the Sulzberger's get wrapped up in the mother of all scandals.

Britain’s Prince Andrew — who allegedly earned his rhyming nickname, Randy Andy, for his energetic bedroom calisthenics — is in a royal pickle. A friend of the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew has long been accused of taking sexual liberties with Virginia Roberts (now Giuffre), 35, the American woman who claims she once served as a “sex slave” of Epstein’s. Starting at age 15, she alleges, she was forced to service Epstein’s rich and powerful pals, including Andrew. The prince has always denied the allegations,

As the expert who looks like a pencil in the movie “Monsters Inc.” says on a chat-show panel, “It is my professional opinion that now is the time to panic!” Why? Well, the yield curve inverted. What is the inverted yield curve, you ask? Listen, when I began writing this Post column nearly 22 years ago, I was told there would not be any math. From what I understand, it means investors think it is a better bet to loan the US government money for two years rather than for 10 years — and this is very, very bad news.

In the wake of recent horrific shooting sprees, Donald Trump and other Republicans wishing to appear to “do something” have seized the purported “middle ground”: red flag laws. These laws would permit law enforcement or concerned family members to petition a court to remove firearms from individuals deemed dangerous after a summary judicial procedure. Laws such as these enjoy popular support and a general perception of plausibility upon first glance. After all, there is a broad public consensus in favor of keeping guns out of the hands of convicted felons and other dangerous people. Desperate Democrats have apparently decided that the way to win in 2020 is to paint President Trump as a racist, perhaps even a hood-wearing, torch-carrying grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. The Democrats appeared ready to thunder to Election Day with a “Russia, Russia, Russia” war chant, but former special counsel Robert Mueller wee-weed all over that plan when he declared that neither Mr. Trump nor his campaign colluded with the Kremlin to alter the outcome of the 2016 election. Now they’re putting all their little white eggs in the big racist basket. “We have a president who actively demonizes racial and religious minorities,

Weaponizing the dead of El Paso and Dayton 1 reply

Those angry loner white boys with guns, this time in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, have again erupted on the body politic. And those with eyes to see are reminded that the American culture is ill.But what of the mass shootings in Chicago, the 55 people shot over the weekend, with seven hit near a park and then eight more not far away? You might think these are “mass shootings” too, but, in political/media terms, they’re not treated as such. The victims, and in all likelihood the shooters, are black. And Democratic politicians find no political advantage in weaponizing the victims of everyday street violence in a Democratic town.

When I first heard that President Trump had gone after the Rev. Al Sharpton — and that Mr. Sharpton had responded in kind — I must admit that I laughed. Are there two New York City hustlers who deserve one another more? But 48 hours later, I feel differently. That’s thanks to the leading Democratic candidates for president, who have rushed to Mr. Sharpton’s defense, extolling his supposed virtues as a civil-rights paragon while denouncing Mr. Trump’s attack as racist. In doing so, they have, yet again, taken Mr. Trump’s bait, handing him another easy victory while yoking themselves to a genuine bigot.

Ask yourself honestly: Would you ever consider living in West Baltimore? And are you a racist if you say no? Baltimore ranks in the top 10 of the least livable cities in America. Until this week, it was not controversial to point that out. But now that President Donald Trump has tweeted about Baltimore, it seems as though anyone who criticizes the awful conditions there is opening themselves up to charges of prejudice. The flap began last week when Rep. Elijah Cummings, whose 7th district covers much of Baltimore City, lashed out at acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan

Joseph Mifsud: The name of the generally unknown character in the Russia investigation came up, over and over, in the long-awaited House committee hearings with former special counsel Robert Mueller. Republican Jim Jordan of Ohio invoked the name as if it legally required the accompaniment of horror movie theme music; Mueller immediately snapped back that he would not discuss that man. Yet that did not deter Republicans. “Joseph Mifsud,” “Joseph Mifsud” — the mantra continued until the shadowy professor had emerged as the Keyser Söze of the Mueller hearings.
Why Trump Will Win Independents

Like many World War II veterans, my father didn’t talk much about the war, but he occasionally retold one anecdote that clearly made a strong impression on him at the time. At the end of the war, when it became obvious that the Nazis had lost, thousands of German infantrymen suddenly began appearing at the American lines anxious to surrender. This was less about love for our GIs than fear of the Red Army. And it’s not a bad analogy for what Independents will do in 2020. They are ambivalent about President Trump and the GOP, but they are afraid of the Democrats.

It may be that Robert Mueller being — to be polite — a bit past it accounts for his surprisingly befuddled demeanor and seeming unfamiliarity with his own report at Wednesday's hearings. The imputation that Mueller does little or none of his own writing — many credibly believe Andrew Weissman and/or his cohorts are the true authors of the report — may also be an explanation for this behavior. On multiple occasions when questioned about his own text Mueller had a blank expression or looked over to his last-minute sidekick Aaron Zebley for answers that should have been obvious. (Zebley's presence was itself a sign of nervous desperation.)
