The Land of Lincoln will require public schools to incorporate LGBTQ figures into history lessons. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Friday signed House Bill 246, which mandates the following: “In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.” The bill, introduced by Rep. Anna Moeller, will go into effect in July. “THNX Gov. Pritzker, legislative champs @staterepmoeller @SenatorSteans, amazing partners @ILSafeSchools @lgbt_legacy!” Equality Illinois, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights group tweeted Friday. State Sen. Heather Steans,

What history? I'd bet it all about victimhood.
Maybe bath house etiquette? Proper attire for a gay march? Gender selection considerations?
Get your children out of public schools! It may be the best thing you will ever do for your child!

Remember when Ellen's sitcom was canceled after she came out? She was on some talk show, crying, and said gay people should be celebrated. I firmly believe she, and a president I won't name, are behind all this gay/trans onslaught. Who on earth wants their child subjected to this stuff in school? It's just wrong.

Here's a novel idea: Just teach History. Who cares who the historical person sleeps with? Teach the events that have shaped our past and affect our future. The choice of bedmates be damned!

I don't think including in history lessons people who happen to be gay is a big deal. I would prefer curriculum focus on achievements and events, regardless of the orientation of the people involved. For example, Hadrian was a homosexual. He is a significant person in Western history. Include him. Fine. But I don't need to know about famous drag queens unless I am studying pop culture.
Excluding people on the basis of their orientation is not useful and neither is including them for that reason. Let people be people and report on what's of consequence and significance. Does it matter to me whether Churchill preferred women (his devoted wife) over men? Nope. What matters is that he defeated the Nazis and saved the world from German totalitarianism.
King James gave us the greatest piece of English literature: The "Authorized" or "King James" version of the Bible. (The Bible is more than that, but the KJV is also English literature.) King James was as gay as a picnic basket. Who cares?!

We might include the names of a number of priests in this curriculum . . . and all the things they did . . . for society . . . and children.

Instead of expanding history, I fear, they will not teach other parts of history so they can ensure to squeeze this new part of the curriculum.

Here's an idea. How about just teaching about significant people in history without emphacizing their sexuality? I'm sure I learned about LGBTQ figures in history without having that shoved down my throat (Amelia Earhardt and Eleanor Roosevelt come to mind). But that's the whole purpose, right?

If the classes will encompass only "positive" contributions made by this group of mentally confused people, the class will last about three minutes on the first day of school and then the teachers can segue to important American history.

The days of people being known by the content of their character are long gone. Since when is sexuality preferences something necessary to become a mandatory history study requirement. Does it really matter? Certainly not to me. Disgusting gross and probably abusive of children.

People living with the delusion that the only (or most) important thing about their life is how they use their sexual urges are not sane enough to be celebrated by a page in a history book.
Whatever happened to celebrating patriots, inventors, people who took great risks to advance the human condition?

I'm guessing the Parochial schools will get a lot of new students. Parents who can afford it will not want their kids reading that Trash! Maybe the Parents will wake up now and FIRE the School Boards. They are ELECTED! Also fire the Superintendent who gave the okay for this Trash. Time to take out the Libs teaching garbage to school age kids!

There are two things that would fundamentally transform America: Term Limits; School Vouchers. The Marxists would lose their advantage in indoctrinating our children, and politicians wouldn't become millionaires while doing so.

LGBTQ goes back thousands of years. Who cares? It isn’t a big thing, regardless of how brave the gay people believe themselves to be. We wouldn’t have hummingbirds if they (hummingbirds) all decided to be gay. Sexual attraction exists, regardless of the irritation- anger of the gay folk. So have at it, sex yourselves into oblivion, the rest (most) of us don’t even care.

There is no remaining doubt anymore. Public schools are sick, deranged, perverted propaganda outlets now and wholly owned by the Death Party. What's next? Mandatory teachings on the wonders of pedophilia? How about assisted suicide when you don't feel like you like life anymore? That one would be a winner for the raging hormone teenage set.
