DES MOINES, Iowa — Joe Biden is calling for a cultural shift around how the country thinks about gun ownership."The Second Amendment — no amendment is in fact absolute," Biden told the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund's Presidential Gun Sense Forum Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa."You cannot stand up in this hall and yell fire. That's not freedom of speech because they know the consequence of yelling fire: There'll be a stampede, and someone will get hurt," the former vice president said. The national conversation regarding gun control should extend beyond regulating who can buy a firearm to, for example,

Good to know. Does that mean we can disenfranchise women? Blacks. Prohibit alcohol?

Oh, so the Fourteenth Amendment isn't absolute either, Joe-G? Say it; I dare you.

"Shall not be infringed" sounds pretty absolute to me. It doesn't have a clause at the end saying, "unless the government or some judge says otherwise", now does it?

Actually they are ALL absolute. Over the decades you communists have chipped away at them to the point that none mean anything, but that was not the original intent.

Biden believes that the Second Amendment, which is explicitly stated in the Constitution, is not absolute and may be regulated.
Does he also believe that the right to an abortion, which is NOT explicitly stated in the Constitution, is not absolute and may be regulated?
Does Biden believe that the government must subsidize women who desire an abortion? If so, why does the government not subsidize citizens who wish to purchase firearms?
Just askin'.

As usual he gets it wrong. If you yell fire, you will not be prosecuted for your speech but for causing a riot. True of all but the unconstitutional hAte speech prosecutions.

Hey JOE, the Constitution is the Supreme Law, changing it is prescribed and is now at the whim of some Federal Judge, GET OVER IT!

Earlier today he was saying he'd stop ICE enforcement of the law when 3/4+ of voters are whole heartedly in favor of it. Now he's saying the US constitution including the bill of rights is OPTIONAL. As I said earlier, political suicide by stupid. Joe, Roberto O'Rourquez should send you a thank you note.

Several years ago, the Demon-Rats officially decided that the ends justify the means, as long as they get and keep power!!!
Lie, cheat, steal, kill (hello Mr. Epstien), whatever it takes!!!
So you know that they aren't going to let that pesky Constitution slow them down!!!

They've tried to redefine "the people" to mean the state. The Heller decision cleared that up. Now watch them try to whittle "infringe" down to nothing.

So does this mean we can petition the Supremes to end legalized abortion? After all, no amendment is absolute, amirite? How about the free speech amendment for Leftists? Or the right to privacy for Gays? After all, by Crazy Joe's logic, the amendments aren't fixed in concrete.

The US Constitution restricts voting in federal elections to US citizens, there is little doubt that the Democrats believe that is not absolute, and that anyone from anywhere in the world should be able to enter the USA as they wish, stay, and vote for the Democrats.
Don’t think the election next year will not be important?

Every part of the Constitution is absolute, save when through a Constitutional Convention, with the result approved by a majority of the States in the Republic.
Send that ignoramus back to school!!

Ok, they are not "absolute", but if you want to change them, you must 1) get supermajorities in both houses of congress, 2) get the President to sign it, 3) get 3/4 of the states to ratify any change withing 7 years.
It is not easy, and the left constantly looks for ways around the rules - just like with the Electoral College. They can get rid of it if they follow the above, but they won't because they can't - so they do end arounds. Sorry those are not constitutional if they are ever challenged.

Most of these maniacal murderers are from the Left, the radical fringe, and it looks like they're doing the bidding of the anti-Second Amendment, whether they know it or not.
Mike Bloomberg, the fanatical anti Second Amendment one time mayor who wanted to protect NYC from big cups of soda, set his billions to the task of gung control.
The criminal behavior of someone MUST NOT infringe on law-abiding Citizens' Rights.
Better get on the message machines to McConnell et al. And please, Congressmen, get the facts AND the Truth.
ONE MORE THING: the same people railing about the content of the writings of these two killers and trying to connect them with POTUS, don't say a word about what's happening in the inner cities. not a word, unless a grunt is squeezed outta them. Who's the racist?

The mainstream media stands up in America and yells Fire all the time, and never apologizes for it or retracts their lies. When they do correct a lie or libel it will be hidden way in the back pages, or a statement that they misspoke. They are yelling Fire in a crowded America right now, about gun violence and non-existent white supremacy, all supported by lies such as Charlottesville and imaginary "dog-whistles."

Yeah, those pesky "shall not be infringed" words really aren't that important. You can just do what you want, really.
