Universal Pictures is pausing the ad campaign of a movie depicting elites hunting “deplorables” in the wake of the recent mass shootings.
“The Hunt,” is as an R-rated satire coming out on Sept. 27 that features 12 strangers who “wake up in a clearing” and “don’t know they’ve been chosen” for the hunt. It was produced by Jason Blum, who also produced “The Purge” and “Get Out.” “In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be

Now when the outcry becomes so great that the film itself is pulled, what genius Hollywood producer takes the fall for costing Universal the tens of millions already invested in this stupid idea?

"Out of sensitivity to the attention on the country’s recent shooting tragedies, Universal Pictures and the filmmakers of The Hunt have temporarily paused its marketing campaign and are reviewing materials as we move forward," a spokesperson said.
We're stupid, right? What sensitivity? They may pause ads, pull the movie, but now we know how they feel and what they desire to do to us.

I see this as the next thing to yelling FIRE in a Movie theater. Ins't there a law against inciting violence? If there isn't, there should be. Look at what is going on at Mitch McConnell's home. Does anyone else think that one of those Idiots, or some crazed kid (think last Weekend's shootings) will see the movie and think they could pull off something like that with the help of a few of their Crazed Buddies! I think that Movie should be pulled for good! Trash it!

All those associated with the production of this movie should be arrested for terrorist threats and inciting violence.

Makes me wonder what is in store for 2020. It will probably get much worse. Hope we can keep the country.

The only thing that surprises me is that Universal Studios hasn't set up an amusement ride in their theme park based on this movie.

Yeah, they keep calling it a satire. The teaser I saw didn't look like a satire, it looked more like deep-seated desire. This is one reason why they want our guns...so they can do whatever they want. Bring it, y'all....see what happens.

Satire is defined as "the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."
Who is being exposed and criticized is my question? Somehow I don't think the authors of this evil vision are channelling Jonathan Swift.

Not an original idea, even. Years ago, I read a story called, _The_Most_Dangerous_Game_ about a big game hunter hunting a man. The man turned the tables on the hunter.

Rush had an interesting question about this movie yesterday - why do these people have guns and what happened to the Deplorable's guns?
After Tommy Lee's rant I agree with #5 and think 2020 will be much worse.
Bring it!

Universal is owned by NBC. NBC is owned by Comcast.
Perhaps Comcast and NBC should put the final bullet through this hate fest.

hunting humans has been a sick theme of movies for many decades. Only now do the leftist loons make it a political situation - hunting 'deplorables'.

I don't believe this is the first time that elites have gathered at a manor to hunt humans for sport. It is rumored that the European very rich have hunted both adults and children for sport for centuries. Who knows what goes on behind the closed doors and gates of the super rich? They have the money to do whatever they want, and are very seldom investigated or prosecuted for any crime. Epstein got away with his pedophilia and extortion/blackmail schemes for decades.
As Rush said, this is definitely not a satire. It is a fantasy that leftists would love to live out in real life. They are just getting more bold about expressing it. I wear "trucker" hats every day, but I'm not sure what a cowboy shirt is. I just wear t-shirts, usually. My guns are for self-defense, and I would have them even if there were no constitutional right, considering the level of bloodlust these crazy people express. Mindless, brainwashed barbarians who believe they are better than the unwashed "deplorables."
One more thing. Maybe I'm being sexist and I haven't seen the movie, but does it have to make the hero who knows everything and defeats them all a woman? Men are usually more experienced in hunting, tracking, elite military training, etc....

But I keep hearing that (maybe) the deplorables manage to escape the murderous leftoids and turn the tables on them. Anybody else hear or read about this rumor?

Just another example of the magnanimous “influence-peddling” power of the loony left.
TV
Media
Movies
Public schools
They get ya every day with their brand of influence peddling.
Can we not stop them?

I suspect the last couple of days’ news coverage WAS the ad campaign. Universal will milk the controversy that they’ve created for all it’s worth, report that they’ve made some changes and then this, another ordinary action-packed thriller, will be released with much anticipation and do its two week run in theatres. None of us have seen it, though, so who is to say who the villains are? The rich man in “The Most Dangerous Game” was the villain and the rich predators in “Get Out” were also the bad guys.

How about an indie movie where a bunch of zombie deplorables descend upon Hollywood and do what is is that zombies do? Or howsabout Sharknado Hollywood? Or maybe just hang a few Hollywood types by their feet from overpasses along the 405.
RE: "Universal is owned by NBC. NBC is owned by Comcast." You didn't finish the thought. When the Bamster went to Martha's Vineyard on his summer vacation he was feted by his super goombah, the CEO of Comcast Brian Roberts.

#16, I watched the trailer and apparently the deplorables are the good guys that the audience will want to win in the end? At least that's what I got from it.

What a Lie-Beral wet dream of a movie!!!
Seriously, if Lie-Berals came "hunting" for conservatives, they would be massively out-numbered and out-gunned by people who actually knew how to use those guns!!!!!
The Lie-Berals might get lucky and take one or two conservatives by surprise, but it would end there -- with lots of dead Lie-Berals!!!

My friends and I are laughing at Hollywood sowing the seeds of civil war. I've known patriots, rednecks and whackos who have been loaded and drooling for 50 years waiting for this to happen. Remember, those are the guys with the money, the guns, the ammo and the experience.
Am I a whacko, naw, I'm the popcorn maker. LOL
