A host of A-list celebrities faced an angry backlash today after they travelled to a climate change conference in Italy in a fleet of supercars, expensive yachts and more than 100 private jets. Guests at the secretive Google Camp were accused of hypocrisy after they gathered this week to discuss the environment while leaving a considerable carbon footprint of their own.(Snip) Some 114 fuel-guzzling planes were scheduled to land in Palermo for the elite gathering, according to Italian media, while others brought their super-yachts to a three-day conference whose guests include Katy Perry and Harry Styles.

Hypocrites... but what else is new. "Do as I say, not as I do, serf!"
What got me actually was how very unattractive these celebrities are in broad daylight without makeup and Hollywood lighting. Wow. I am no eternal beauty but I look better without war paint than some of those folks.

Most “celebrities” are so called beautiful only by virtue of their fame and more importantly, fortune. Prince Harry is a prime example. Butt ugly.

The gathering of useful idiots. How many of them can have an informed conversation about the UN Agenda 21? How many of them can have an informed conversation about the true purpose of the environmental movement? And, yet, they hold the opinion they have the right to dictate to us how we are to live while ignoring those same dictates.

The more people find out about the lives of high school and college dropout "celebrities" who try to dictate how others should live, the more disgusted they get. Why should I listen to Al Gore (of the power bill for just one of his many houses that's bigger than 10 average houses) when he tells me to reduce my carbon footprint? These clowns would put Marie Antoinette to shame. She, by the way, was unfairly accused, but that's a discussion for another day.

What, pray tell, does going barefoot have to do with climate change?
And besides jetting and yachting around the globe to get here, if they're truly concerned about using fossil fuels, then they should also strip themselves (not just their feet) of all things made using fossil fuels. And, yes, that includes their clothing. So, boys and girls, how 'bout a nudist climate change conference that's NOT in an air conditioned building. In fact, it shouldn't be in a building, no doubt built with fossil fuels, too, at all! How 'bout you meet in the open air--like in Death Valley.

One of the photos shows a banquet at the Paestum Archeological Park (near Naples), while the resort for the conference is near Agrigento, Sicily, over 400 miles away. Assuming the photo caption is correct, how did all the gliterati get between the two sites. And, by the way, there are equally impressive (maybe even more impressive) archeological ruins in Sicily, so why did they truck everyone to Naples?

Ummm the elite of a particular class had a date with Destiny in the jaws of Madame Guillotine a little over 2 centuries ago. I'm confident not one of these snots knows a thing about that bit of history. Revolution anyone?

This illustrates the REAL motivation behind "Climate Change." These people, the "woke," the "saviors" of "The Planet," will give up nothing. Their lives will not change or will they face any inconvenience. They will be the money collectors and they will decide who will receive it...if anyone other than themselves. They will hold the power of life and death for millions.
What they won't do is allow the desperate third world hell holes, where the population is suffering, genuinely, to improve lives with working electricity, and clean water produced by modern power plants. These Greenies "feel" that natural is better and they condemn these people to death and disease...but THEY feel better because "The Planet" will better off.
It may be telling to point out that the majority of suffering occurs in non-white populations. Interesting that they are never called out for actual blatant racism....BUT...they CARE (Just ask 'em) so there is nothing to see here.

They are convinced that all the rest of us need to live in thatched huts and ride bicycles, and be limited to solar powered minimalistic, subsistence living, while they continue on with their jets, helos and megayachts.
Not going to happen, and a bunch of us are equipped to seriously contest the issue.
Ask Marquis Charles Cornwallis and King George III how well Americans take orders from "their betters".

Have these people never heard of Skype? Why can't these conferences take place over the Internet? If they are so concerned about the planet, they would have cyber conferences that leave little to know "carbon footprint."
The rules are for everyone else, eh?!

I'm confused. There is only one Paestum and its on the west coast of mainland Italy. They all flew, sailed to island of Sicily. Did they then fly and sail further to Paestum for another save the planet event? It's hundreds of miles away.

Not one of these people is in any way qualified to talk about the climate. They are there to be seen. What comes out of this gathering is useless and irrelevant. In the meantime it is one more reason to vote for Trump.

Harry giving a speech barefoot reminds me of Rosalyn Carter standing in a receiving line at the WH in her stocking feet. All that wealth and all those titles, but not an iota of class.

I used to like Harry - oh well. If he or Meghan had to live my quiet and humble lifestyle for a week, they'd be freaking out. I live in a small house, drive a small car and do all my own housework. I don't have a lot of clothes and shoes. I daresay I could clothe myself for five years on what Harry spends for a bespoke suit and shoes.

#16 is correct. They could video conference this event and save tons of carbon. Of course, that would not be as much fun as staying in a $2,000 a night hotel and mixing with like-minded save the earth types. It's a stupid and unnecessary display of wealth and privilege. Good for the Daily Mail calling them out. It lets a lot of ordinary people know what hypocrites they are.

They may think that in the future, they will be telling the little people how to live, but these 'elite' betters forget one thing. When the SHTF, the little people that know how to grow food, hunt, raise meat animals, run the electric plants and extract the fossil fuels for their cars and planes and yachts might not be so accommodating. It might not be so great sitting behind those gates and walls, starving in the dark!
