Two things can be true about former special counsel Robert Mueller’s congressional testimony yesterday.
It was damaging to President Trump, contradicting the president’s key claims and defenses about the Russia probe.
And it all but closed the door on the likelihood of Democrats impeaching the president – given the congressional math.
Here’s a fuller breakdown on our six takeaways from yesterday:
Mueller contradicted Trump’s story on the Russia probe: “It is not a witch hunt,” Mueller said… “It was not a hoax.”… Russia’s intervention helped Trump’s campaign — not Hillary Clinton’s… Trump was NOT exonerated by the report… And “problematic is an understatement” is how Mueller described Trump’s use of the WikiLeaks

Sorry, F. Chuck Todd (as Rush calls him), you lost me on the 2nd sentence about how this "was damaging to President Trump". You have earned the designation of Enemedia, putting out Fake News.

The only thing the Democrats seem to have that they can hold on to is the troupe that "Mueller says the report does not exonerate the President". When in actuality, there is no such thing. No one is exonerated from a crime in our legal system. You are either guilty or not guilty of a crime. Nowhere in the legal system is there any way of exonerating anyone from a crime within the bounds of the court system.

NBC learned NOTHING yesterday. They still believe their front man, even though he is obviously unfamiliar with 'his' own report.
He doesn't know what Fusion GPS is. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

Did these people see a different Mueller testimony than I did? Maybe they were viewing it through liberal glasses.

Pathetic. PDJT used the wrong word with "exonerate". "Vindicated" or "cleared of charges" is more accurate. Same thing. NBC is trying to salvage something - anything - from the debacle. It was almost as good as Election Night.

LOL! Mueller contradicted Trump's key claim???? Trump claims the investigation into HIS collusion was a witch hunt which is true considering their failure to find any collusion evidence. Mueller claims that Russia interfered in the election which is true although they found no evidence anyone's vote was effected. Is Todd really incapable of seeing the difference?

The left must be eternally optimistic. Seems like no mater how deep they dig into the M(anure)ueller report they keep expecting to find a pony. The stench has overloaded the olfactory senses of most sentient beings. Guess they have been digging in that pile for so long they have become 'noseblind'.

The big problem for the leftist and liberal Democrats is that what Russia did to “meddle” in the 2016 election and what President Trump did to get elected in 2016 are two different issues for which no legitimate connection has been proved. Another problem for the Democrats is that a prosecutor working within the USA system of justice, in this case Robert Mueller, must prove his case, and Trump does not under the law have to do or say a thing. In the USA justice system a target of an investigation or defendant is considered to be innocent until the government (the prosecutor) proves a defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. What a target of an investigation or defendant says in his or her defense is not obstruction of justice. It is not the job of a prosecutor to exonerate a defendant, and certainly a defendant has no duty to exonerate himself or herself.

Chuck Todd could do a little research and find that Obama stated that the Russians were interfering in the 2016 election as they had in the 2014 and 2012 election, and that they'd be trying to interfere in elections beyond too. The point Obama was making is it's been happening, and will continue to happen, but he also declared that they had not, did not, change votes or alter the outcome.
So, all these Democrats today trying to sound like something horrible has happened, and Trump isn't doing anything about it because he's possibly connected with the Russians, is preposterous and disingenuous.
However, Republicans don't counter the Democrats on this point either.

#14 -- only problem is that it was the first witch hunt that deliberately didn't hunt the witch.
