(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it hand-delivered ethics complaint to Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Office of Congressional Ethics David Skaggs calling for a full investigation into potential crimes tied to allegations that Rep. Ilhan Omar may have married her biological brother. “The evidence is overwhelming Rep. Omar may have violated the law and House rules. The House of Representatives must urgently investigate and resolve the serious allegations of wrongdoing by Rep. Omar,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “We encourage Americans to share their views on Rep. Omar’s apparent misconduct with their congressmen.”

They had to have picked up a bucketful of evidence from the David Steinberg (Power Line) investigative research on Ilhan, from her coming to this country through her marriages, and on and on. Five instalments worth, published at PL. Instalment 5 was posted here a week or so ago and contained links to the first 4 instalments. It carried Scott Johnson’s byline, but it was all Steinberg. A pretty damning series of articles.

PS. Just read the complaint. Sure enough, Judicial Watch used the Steinberg evidence. And Scott Johnson was one of the investigative team members. Find the Steinberg post and read the whole batch. How Ilhan got this far is pretty scary.

Somewhere I read (and I'd be interested in hearing any confirmation), that there is a substantial Jewish population in brother-marrying Omar's district. Of course, as Jackie Mason often says, Jews live like rich white Republicans and vote like poor black Democrats.

If you look in the pictorial dictionary under "fearless" you should see Tom Fitton and Judicial Watch. Their fine work has exposed Hillary Clinton and her crimes. They are doing the work that Paul Ryan would never allow when he held the speakership. Paul Ryan was in it for himself and the money (from the Chamber of Commerce). Judicial Watch is clearly a national treasure.

Judicial Watch is doing what the 125,000 employees of the DoJ, the 36,000 employees of the FBI, the 100,000 employees of the IRS plus the countless lawyers of the Federal Election Commission won’t do. And Tom Fitton and his colleagues at JW are doing this with private contributions while the federal workers responsible for investigating this corruption turn their backs and add to our massive deficits. Something is terribly wrong, and it’s not Judicial Watch.

OK, a good start, but when will we be able to get a federal prosecutor to look into her crimes. They were happy enough to nail Duke Cunningham for his errors, but then again, he was a white American war hero, not a black, foreign-born saboteur.

It is time to demonstrate the difference between America, and the chaos from which so many have come. It is "law and order"! Mr. President, until we can observe our laws and our justice being applied without partiality, we need to stay with "make America great again". The swamp is still functioning and the job is not done!

Tom Fitton and JW deserve credit for filing the complaint, but some seem to be overlooking the fact that, without David Steinberg’s (& team) 3 years of broad and deep research/investigation/assembly of documentation, JW would have no grounds for this complaint… Steinberg produced all of the evidence that Fitton and JW tell us in the complaint provided the basis for the complaint. C’mon. Credit where credit is due...

Robert Mueller’s less-than-stellar performance last week before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees seems to have left just about everybody trying to explain it. Descriptions on both the left and the right sides of the aisle included words like “ineffective,” “confused,” “struggling,” and “frail.” A consensus soon formed perhaps best summarized by a tweet from radio talk-show personality Mark Levin: “As I said when Mueller gave [his] speech in May, he is feeble. I say that not as a personal attack but as a rational observation

Like many others, I have for some time been trying to understand Trump Derangement Syndrome, the phenomenon of otherwise reasonable people reacting irrationally to some peculiar quality of the president, a quality especially in evidence when he is in the presence of his supporters. Some of it is easy enough to comprehend. Unlike any president since at least Jackson, Mr. Trump was elected by attacking the entire political class from right to left and practically all leaders of both parties and the parties themselves.

It's hard to understand what congressional Democrats hope to achieve by summoning a reluctant Robert Mueller to appear before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees on Wednesday. The former special counsel's exhaustive 448-page report has been done for nearly four months. It's been public for three, with the country having plenty of time to absorb its comically anti-climactic conclusion that, although the 2016 Trump campaign did a lot of shady, underhanded things, none of them technically amounted to criminal conspiracy (collusion) with the Russian government, and that, although there was substantial evidence of obstruction of justice on the part of President Trump himself,

A number of pundits this morning have been questioning former special counsel Robert Mueller’s performance at the hearing before the House Judiciary Committee. Fox Business host Stuart Varney spoke with Judge Andrew Napolitano as the Mueller hearing got underway Wednesday. Napolitano said so far it shows Mueller “is a good Marine and he’s gonna follow the instructions from the Department of Justice and basically not talk about ongoing cases, not talk about the deliberations that led to the report, and not talk about anything outside the report.”

Stephanie Grisham is operating under a basic principle as President Donald Trump’s new chief spokesperson and communications director: Let Trump soak up all the media oxygen. She has not appeared on Fox News, the president’s favorite channel, or taken reporters’ questions in a gaggle from the White House driveway. Apart from a single missive sent out last week under the official press secretary Twitter handle, she stayed out of the week-long explosions over the president’s fiery directive that four Democratic lawmakers and women of color should “go back” to their countries if they do not like the way the U.S. government runs.

Al Franken’s regrets over resigning from the Senate add up to a tragedy for our times. They are relayed by Jane Mayer in an illuminating scoop in the New Yorker. It’s a long, reported dispatch to which it’s hard to do justice in a short editorial. The nub of it is that Mr. Franken wishes he’d held out for an investigation by the Senate’s Ethics Committee. Instead, Mr. Franken quit, and, by his own account, went into a deep, even clinical depression.

Who knew that the humble footnote would loom so large in some of the most consequential documents of our time? Those bottom-of-the-page annotations are supposed to impose rigor on authors by forcing them to cite justifications for what they assert. But in the age of collusion claims, footnotes have become so much more -- places for officials to tuck away inconvenient information; discreet spaces in which to make dubious assertions; or fine print in which required disclosures can be hidden in plain sight. It was in the footnotes, for example, where the FBI appears to have misled the FISA court in its application to spy on Carter Page –
