Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s defense attorney Sidney Powell on Thursday blasted the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court for approving a warrant she said is based on flimsy evidence presented a dossier cobbled together by an ex-British spy. Ms. Powell — a fierce critic of special counsel Robert Mueller and the investigation into allegations the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 election — slammed the court in a speech before the Fund for American Studies, an educational nonprofit. Ms. Powell said it was “beyond an outrage” the court would approve a warrant to spy on Trump campaign figure Cater Page and others based

Some enterprising reporter needs to do an essay the wholly indefensible entity that is the FISA court. Created by a government run by cowardly pols, at a time of confusion, it has become a tool of suppression used by criminal politicians to maintain power. The Hacks who man the benches should be outed for the frauds that they are!

I've been puzzled for a long time by the deafening silence from the FISA judges who were supposedly duped by the Steele dossier. I can only speculate that they were complicit in the affair because I don't think judges normally like being lied to. Where is their outrage?

Sidney Powell “called for more oversight of the FISA Court, noting that defendants cannot even bring a lawyer into the court because its proceedings are so secretive.” The lackadaisical behavior of the FISA judges may be because Chief Justice Roberts is responsible for this secretive, Soviet Union like “court”. Roberts lacks both a commitment to the Constitution and a spine. Roberts should have been outraged by Obama’s deception of this court. Instead, Roberts only criticized Trump for saying the obvious, that there are liberal and conservative judges rather than judges who applied the laws without ideological opinions.

The real story, Flynn is going to complete his task. What task is that, you ask? Why, it's putting Weissman in prison for the rest of his life. I knew when Weissman was put on this case it was a trap. A gift from Trump to the families of Arthur Anderson who lost everything.

#4, what do all the FISA judges have in common?, they were all appointed by Roberts. I think it's apparent by now that Roberts is a Bush deep state operative. He votes conservative, except when it's really needed by the deep state.

Former President Bill Clinton tried to push back on reporting about trips he took with Jeffery Epstein where Secret Service were not listed on flight manifests, but failed to address why records show he took six separate trips on the "Lolita Express." Clinton's press secretary Angel Ureña said Monday that Clinton had traveled four times in total with the alleged child sex trafficker, and "Supporters of the Foundation, and his Secret Service detail, traveled on every leg of every trip.” Ureña only responded to a Washington Examiner inquiry about the trips after publication. Ureña did not reply to repeated questions about the discrepancy between the number of trips Clinton, 72,

In two essays, “Illness as Metaphor” in 1978 and “AIDS and Its Metaphors” in 1988, the critic Susan Sontag observed that you can learn a lot about a society from the metaphors it uses to describe disease. She also suggested that disease itself can serve as a metaphor—a reflection of the society through which it travels. In other words, the way certain illnesses spread reveals something not just about a nation’s physiological health but also about its cultural and political health. For instance, AIDS would not have ravaged America as fully as it did without institutionalized homophobia, which inclined many Americans to see the disease as retribution for gay sex.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pacing the stage at a cyberconference in Tel Aviv, and he is not happy. For the past seven minutes, he’s been making the case that his policies have launched a booming tech industry in Israel and enabled the tiny country that once fought for its existence to become a security force around the globe. He’s holding his shoulders up and back, a stage tip he got from Sean Connery. His red tie, white shirt and dark suit mirror a certain American President who has emerged as a massive Netanyahu ally. But there’s a problem. Graphics on the giant screen behind him keep

We should have seen this coming: After less than a year in office, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez already has become the most tediously predictable person in politics. Ocasio-Cortez, the would-be Taylor Swift of the Democratic Party, habitually dismisses her critics and those of her “Squad” — as the four new champagne radicals in the House call themselves — as racists and sexists. Nancy Pelosi, the leader of her party in the House, is only the latest target of this strategy. Pelosi, she says, habitually singles out “newly elected women of color” such as herself for criticism. It is, AOC says, part of a pattern. Which is, ironically, part of a pattern.

In Europe, you will often hear politically savvy people refer to Green Party politicians as "watermelons." The reason is that although they might be environmentalist "green" on the outside, these leftists are secretly communist red if you look beneath the surface. They typically resort to such subterfuge because environmentalism is more popular than Marxism. A former East German communist is bound to be unpopular, but perhaps not so much if he rehabilitates himself as a renewable energy enthusiast. The case of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York, is different in that she openly advertised herself as a socialist in a country with a well-grounded historical aversion to such alien ideologies.

It is useful to start with a not-so-hypothetical possibility. Suppose that next April 1, the official counting day for the 2020 census, a caravan of 10,000 citizens of Honduras storms across the U.S. border into Texas. Their leaders proceed to proclaim intent to remain as permanent residents. According to the Census Bureau’s Residence Rule, they can immediately fill out census forms and be included in the population of Texas for purposes of determining the state’s number of House seats and Electoral College votes. Similarly, the 1 million people subject to final deportation orders who remain in this country must be counted. The bureau’s current test is whether someone resides here, regardless

Authorities in Colorado restored an American flag to its place Friday evening after protesters demonstrating outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility pulled down the star-spangled banner and flew the flag of Mexico in its place. The protesters also removed a “Blue Lives Matter” flag, honoring law enforcement, spray-painted it with the words “Abolish ICE,” then raised the flag upside-down, on a pole next to the Mexican flag, according to local media. Hundreds of protesters had gathered in Aurora, Colo., outside the federal facility that holds illegal immigrants, to protest ICE raids scheduled to begin Sunday in Denver and other major U.S. cities, FOX 31 Denver reported.

Trying to actually deport illegal immigrants whom courts have ordered deported is now considered authoritarian. Ken Cuccinelli, a top official at the Department of Homeland Security, made clear that he intended to follow through on President Trump’s plans to remove foreigners in the United States illegally for whom final removal orders have been issued. Cuccinelli said this on national TV on Sunday, and told reporters Wednesday that these operations “absolutely” were going forward. The reader needs to understand the modesty of this undertaking. Nobody is talking about deporting all 10 million illegal immigrants. Cuccinelli isn’t even talking about deporting every illegal immigrant who has been ordered deported by a judge. Cuccinelli

Long before Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in Florida more than a decade ago, his fellow Palm Beach resident and hedge-fund manager Douglas Kass was intrigued by the local gossip about his neighbor. “I’m hearing about the parties, hearing about a guy who’s throwing money around,” says Kass, president of Seabreeze Partners Management. While stories about young girls swarming Epstein’s waterfront mansion and the sex parties he hosted for the rich and powerful were the talk of the town, Kass was more focused on how this obscure person, rumored to be managing billions of dollars, had become so wealthy without much of a track record. President Donald Trump should "admit that climate change is real" and start figuring out ways to confront it. That wasn't advice from prominent congressional Democrats Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez but rather from one of the president's staunchest allies in Congress: Republican Sen. Why did Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta resign? His supposed “offense” was declining to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein in return for the billionaire sex predator’s guilty plea in state court (and concomitant jail sentence) when he was U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. That is hardly an offense or even scandalous. It’s a professional decision that prosecutors across the country make every day. You can agree or disagree with it, but it is hardly grounds to lose your next job over. So what is going on here? The least likely possibility is that there really was something scandalous about Acosta’s decision.
