There are some things that are just not up for debate. These aren’t political issues. What happened in Florida didn’t center on MAGA hats, flag burning, or the merits of tax cuts. We actually had a high school principal question whether the Holocaust was a “historical, factual” event. The Palm Beach Post has the story. A mother of a student tried for a year to reason with the school administration to, you know, actually teach kids about this terrible period in human history without the nonsense. She wondered how this was being taught at the school. The emails between the parent and Spanish River High School Principal William Latson were

Just which students' families wouldn't believe the Holocaust happened? I grew up among Christians and Jews; we all knew about the Holocaust.

Many years ago I went on a tour of Dachau. The evidence is overwhelming and irrefutable. To even suggest it is not factual suggests some other equally evil agenda.

..be careful what you wish for..next thing you know Indoctrination Centers ( formerly known as "Public Schools") will be "teaching" that the Holocaust did happen...BUT ...it was brought about by REPUBLICANS... with the help of their nazi friends...

Well, this works two ways. We can also say that slavery didn't exist, that some people question if it was a historical, factual event.

Used to live in Palm Beach County. I used to refer to The Palm Beach Post as Pravda. Thankfully, was able to escape 23 years ago. South Florida has become a true swamp.

One more reason to abolish public education.

Fire him.
He just showed he flunked education.
My Dad was at the liberation of a Nazi work camp. They came in to an utterly desolate seemingly deserted expanse of orderly barracks. Near the gate was a huddled corpse. Beside the barracks (housing for the workers) was a long covered pile of what he took to be cord wood, though it was next to a trench.
Then the 'corpse' staggered to its feet, shouting "Amerikaner? Amerikaner? Frei! Wir sind Frie!"
The man looked to be eighty. He was in his thirties, and before the Holocaust had been a strapping 6'-4" and 200 lbs. Now his head was lower than my Dad's chin (he was 5'-8") and around 100 lbs. The Nazis had missed him in the confusion when they were cleaning up. He died within the hour, but he died free.
The long stack of cord wood were bodies of his fellow Jewish countrymen, men and women enslaved and worked to death by the Third Reich, the top row recently executed by the Gestopo that ran the place. They had planned to lime the pit and bury the corpses, but the Allied front swept up on them two quickly.
My Dad could never bring himself to talk about it. We discovered a letter he had written home to one of my uncles describing it. Some things you just didn't speak of in front of children.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s perfectly illustrative of the abysmal state of public education in America today. The teachers are ignorant and, in many cases, unqualified. The administrators are all like this guy: spineless, faceless, and trying very hard not to stand up and do their jobs.

Unfortunately for Holocaust deniers, the Nazis were impeccable record keepers. If you ever get the chance, watch a movie called, “Conspiracy”. If you have Amazon Prime (yes, I know, I know), you can watch it for free. It is dramatic retelling of the Conference at Wannsee where the Final Solution was finalized. It stars Kevin Branaugh, Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth. Superbly acted, written and produced, it is chilling in its detachment and its detail. All copies of the notes and documents from the meeting were destroyed before the attendees were allowed to leave. One copy was found, accidentally, in a desk, many years later.

I also visited Dachau. I'm glad I went, but I have never seen anything so depresing in my life. Dwigh Eisenhower was correct when he want film and photographs of the horror that occured in Dauchau. He said years in the future people would deny there even was a holocaust. He was right.

Alain Resnais' 1956 documentary "Night and Fog" should be required viewing for any educated person in our culture. I saw it as part of a college film class and it should be shown once a year in this country as it is in France to remind each generation of what evil is capable of.

Without knowing more about this particular locality, it is obvious that the characteristics of being both a moron and a public school principal are compatible and tolerated in very liberal communities, where politics are seeped in identity based politics involving ethnic and racial issues, and even as old and obsolete happenings like the Holocaust that are engraved in world history are being challenged by way of extremely ignorant revisionary processes.

#12, thank you for sharing. Your post brought me to tears and to think that the absolute horror of the Holocaust is not being taught in schools is outrageous.

That Principal should be FIRED! It's way past time to put a stop to the Leftists SCHOOLS, Principals and Teachers who refuse to teach HISTORY as it happened, not how they want it to have happened. Make an example of this Principal!

This fellow should be re-assigned to supervise the in-school suspension program until his contract runs out, or until they can find another reason to fire him. That district is probably unionized to the gills. Unfortunately, administrators cannot be fired for being a yellow-belly wanker.

Since, as the Principal says lessons are “not forced upon individuals as we all have the same rights but not all the same beliefs”, does that mean that students no longer need to learn the LGBTQ lessons or about how Global Warming is settled scientific fact? Those lessons probably don't fall into this category for some reason.
