Remember, Pelosi’s first, second, and third priorities as Speaker of the House when government is divided is to maximize her party’s chances of winning next year. It doesn’t matter how much the left wants to impeach Trump. If impeaching him would damage Democratic chances in 2020, which seems likely, then Nancy ain’t doing it. It doesn’t matter either how much the left wants to punish Biden for his comments about “civility” with segregationists. If covering for Mr Electable on that point will help Democrats win next fall, then that’s what Nancy’s gonna do. The fact that she preferred to humiliate herself this afternoon by agreeing to pass McConnell’s bill

Rather than pass something to help with the humanitarian crisis at the border, Nasty Piglosi's party wanted to attach all kinds of PORK to the spending bill. They never miss an opportunity to SPEND MONEY on their pet projects, even in the face of such great human need.
AOC had a conniption fit over her relenting-- If we didn't already KNOW, it showed her complete lack of character to use this as a political football in her media supported attempt to become the next dictator of the people.
The more she opens her mouth, the more vile things come out of her mind, as small as it is-- the question is just WHO is feeding her the lines and who is aiding and abetting her lunacy??
Madam Speaker did not want to come across as being cruel over politics, and the Independence Day holiday was looming, regardless of what AOC says

Dipsy probably didn't know she was humiliating herself. At this point, how can she know?

What does it say for a party when it's "humiliation" to do the right thing? AOC's brand of politics may be popular with the radical lemmings that think she has a brain but it's not mainstream democrat - yet. She needs a good whipping.

Between Mitch the Turtle and Pelosi, there has to be an angle. I don't trust it one bit. It will come out in due course.

Beware the Marxist rope-a-dope. Keep your eye on the word, "emergency" and "crisis" funding. The next Marxist president with at least a Marxist blue House and all their allies will bludgeon the GOP into voting "emergency" laws for gun confiscation, imprisonment for "hate" speech, waving student loan debt, free health care for the globe, global warming nonsense, you name it. Is the GOP cowardly enough to fall for it WHEN the Marxists create a new "emergency" or "crisis" bill in the future? Is the Steele dossier fake? Marxists play the long game. The GOP plays.

Pelosi had no choice, as leftist and liberal Democrat intransigence regarding the out of control borderline is making the Democrats look bad across the board.

VETO!
There is nothing in this bill that benefits American citizens, and in fact it would make the border worse.

None of this has anything to do about doing the right thing, it is all about advantage, leverage and winning. Pelosi will take the hit because if they don't cave they lose. This is a big tell.

The democrats didn't cave, as the Senate bill doesn't provide funding for enforcement or border protection activities. The bulk of this appropriation is for CBP to improve the living conditions for illegals transiting through our border facilities, expand their medical care, and provide them better access to essential items like clothing, hygiene products and baby formula. No funds were appropriated that would allow CBP to add beds, which effectively forces a more expedient release from detention, as we've seen by the current administration bussing and flying illegals, including Africans from the Ebola-ridden Congo throughout the country, as Texas is busting at the seams with the illegals under the catch-and-release protocol. A very small percentage is to fund the on-going misuse of our military in providing support activities, not in protecting our country from foreign invaders. The big item the House democrats wanted funded in their bill but didn't make it into the Senate bill, is close to $3 billion for legal services to aid the illegals, not to prosecute and deport them according to our existing laws and the expectation of rational American citizens. Three billion for democrat lawyers to fight DHS is far worse than simple pork.

Aoc wants protection for the migrant children?
Send these phony family home invaders back to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and let their “protection” come from THEIR countries, not ours!
“Pelosi caves”.....”Obama cages”...
Maybe they should put them THERE!

Humiliate herself??! With this bill, bad optics for the democrats go away, the illegal immigration problem (created by Congress) is still not resolved and since it is less than the Trump administration requested, it sticks a finger in his eye.
"... the Senate bill includes many Democratic wins. The bill was drafted by GOP Sen. Richard Shelby, the chairman of the Senate appropriations committee, who also granted multiple policy giveaways to Democrats in the February 2019 funding bill for homeland security. Shelby’s budget includes almost no measures to help reduce the migrant inflows into Americans’ workplaces, schools, and communities. For example, it does not increase the detention funds needed to end the catch and release policies which allow migrants to get the U.S. jobs required to pay their smuggling debts."
Senate Democrats boasted of their gains in a press statement:
The Southern Border Humanitarian Assistance Supplemental includes $4.6 billion, $400 million below the revised request from the Trump administration, to address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border as families flee violence and dire poverty in their home countries. This includes $2.88 billion for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to care for migrant children, and $1.3 billion to improve the inhumane conditions at the border and alleviate overcrowding at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities.
• NO Funding For Trump’s Wall And NO Funding For Ice Detention Beds.
• PROHIBITS DHS Transfers Of ANY Funding In This Bill To ANY Other Purpose.
• PROHIBITS Information Obtained From Potential Sponsors Of Unaccompanied Children From Being Used In Immigration Enforcement Actions.
• ENSURES Congressional Oversight Visits To ORR Facilities Within 48 Hours’ Notice.
• Temporary Facilities In Operation For More Than Six Months MUST Meet New Minimum Standards, And All New CBP Processing Facilities MUST Meet National Standards On Transport, Escort, Detention And Search.
• REQUIRES Monthly Public Reporting On Children Being Separated From Their Families.
• $979 Million In New Funding For Migrant Care, Processing Facilities, Food, Medical Services, And Safe Transportation.
• 30 New Immigration Judge Teams To Address The Immigration Backlog.
• $20 Million In Funding To Expand Alternatives To Detention Programs By An Estimated 13,500 People.
• $30 Million In Grants For (democrat run) Nonprofits Who Care For Migrant Families Released From CBP Custody.
• $10 Million For The Legal Orientation Program (Immigration lawyers) To Educate Migrants About Their Rights And The Legal Process At The Border.
• $9 Million To Speed Up Placement Of Unaccompanied Children With Sponsors And Manage Their Cases.
