Elizabeth Warren warns anti-abortion backers:
'You're not going to lock women

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren suggested that abortion restrictions and anti-abortion politicians were motivated by a desire to return to a period when women could not participate in the workforce."It is not 1952," the Massachusetts senator said on Saturday about her work in the upper chamber to expand abortion rights. "You're not going to lock women back in the kitchen. You are not going to tell us what to do."Warren was speaking at the "We Decide" forum hosted by Planned Parenthood's political arm, an event coinciding with the state Democratic convention. She has promised that if elected president she would have Congress pass a bill into law

Does the year 1952 have some particular meaning or did she just pick a random year? Roe was decided approximately 20 years after 1952 so I’m curious as to why she said 1952. Other than she’s crazy.

I think this woman should sit down and read what life was like in 1952. Mothers stayed home (because they wanted to) to take care of their home and family. Fathers earned the living that allowed the mom to stay home. You didn't read about kids growing up to be Rapists or Robbers. They went to school (not all went to College), then they had a Trade of some sort that provided them with a job of their own. College was for the people who could afford it. Boys knew they were boys and girls knew they were girls. No question about it. People dressed appropriately when they went to school and church. Towns were well kept (by the people) and so were churches. Stores were "downtown" and everyone shopped there. No Malls! Movie Theaters showed Movies fit for families to watch together. I think Ms. Warren should spend her time teaching those "poor women" who will have to travel to get abortions how to swallow that FREE little white Birth Control Poll. Then they won't have to travel anywhere. The Taxpayers should not be responsible for their stupidity!

In the early 70's I was in high school at Druid Hills High, just off the Emory University Campus. We had a biology teacher who was very liberal by all recollection but she did have one thing that she would teach all of her students. She would tell the class 'The best birth control is a simple aspirin. All you have to do is take one pill and hold it between both knees. Works 100% of the time'.

I'm a professional woman and I love the kitchen! My father always said birth control ruined the world. It eliminated the fear of pregnancy and caused the sexual revolution. My mother spent her life at home until we went to college and loved it. Then she went back to work and had a fulfilling career. Nothing wrong with that!

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, unveiling his immigration policy outline ahead of the first 2020 debates , is calling for Congress to grant citizenship immediately to more than 800,000 U.S. residents who were brought to the country illegally as children. The former vice president and Democratic polling leader unveiled some of his immigration priorities on Monday in a newspaper op-ed that blisters President Donald Trump for an “assault on the dignity” of the Latino community through policies and rhetoric designed to “scare voters” in 2020. “Trump repeatedly invokes racist invective to describe anyone south of the Rio Grande,” Biden writes, noting “horrifying scenes … of kids being kept in cages”

Young people are growing less tolerant of LGBTQ individuals, a jarring turn for a generation traditionally considered embracing and open, a survey released Monday shows. The number of Americans 18 to 34 who are comfortable interacting with LGBTQ people slipped from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018 – the only age group to show a decline, according to the annual Accelerating Acceptance report. And that is down from 63% in 2016. Driving the dilution of acceptance are young women whose overall comfort levels plunged from 64% in 2017 to 52% in 2018, says the survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD.
