A U.S. high-altitude drone was shot down Thursday by an Iranian surface-to-air missile over the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened tensions in the region after last week’s attacks on two oil tankers, a source told Fox News. The U.S. Navy’s MQ-4C drone, , which has the same wingspan as a Boeing 737, was over international airspace at the time and about 17 miles from Iran, the source said. Capt. Bill Urban, a U.S. Central Command spokesman, declined to comment on the reported attack when reached by the AP, but he said no drone was over Iranian territory. IRNA news agency, the country’s state-run news arm, identified the drone as an RQ-4

Comments:

This may require some payback. Sink one of their ships would seem about right.

I posted this from Internet Explorer, and got one copy, as intended. Maybe the Firefox version is buggy. I have to click repeatedly after logging in. Firefox locks at the seconds countdown page after login, have to click on submit to get to the next second lower page, it does not increment by itself. Takes four submits to get the login to go.

Trump is going to wait will Iran goes too far and then he will knock the sheet out of them either with more sanctions and or block-aid. I don't think he is going to bomb them, he is not that scared of them. He's got a ways to go with sanctions but will need to pressure our communist EU leaches to stop enabling Iran. That also will include keeping Lurch out of Iran.

Is it just me or is it a bad idea to poke the eagle while Trump is in office? This is no Obama "Strategic patience" administration and I fully expect to wake up one morning to find out that Iran is missing one of their naval bases.

During the 80s "Tanker War", the Iranians shot at the USA, and in one instance, we put one of their navy's ships on the bottom and left the other a burning hulk. It didn't sink, and they towed it back to port and spent several years rebuilding it. Time to put that one on the bottom, and maybe a few more....if they even have that many.

Top administration officials and lawmakers have left the White House after a more than hourlong briefing about Iran's downing of an American surveillance drone in the Middle East. Amid mounting tension between the U.S. and Iran, the White House invited House and Senate leaders and Democrats and Republicans on the House and Senate Intelligence and Armed Services Committees to meet with President Trump on Thursday. Others who arrived for the meeting included CIA Director Gina Haspel, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan and Army Secretary Mark Esper, whom Trump has said he'll nominate as defense secretary.

A gun-wielding grandmother in Alabama confronted a wanted man in her driveway on Monday after he crashed a stolen car near her home, according to investigators. Marcia Black, 75, said she pointed a rifle at the suspect while her 15-year-old granddaughter called 911. “I was just calm as can be. I knew I was in control,” the grandmother-of-four told WAAY-TV on Tuesday. Investigators said Cameron Powers came to Black’s home in Limestone County, west of Huntsville. “I walked out and said, ‘Can I help you?’ He said, ‘Yes ma’am, I’d like to use your phone,” Black said.

Fox News correspondent at-large Geraldo Rivera is warning several Obama-era intelligence chiefs that they should be worried after Attorney General William Barr aired his concerns about the origins of the Mueller investigation in a new interview. During an appearance on "Fox & Friends" Friday, Rivera said it's clear Barr wants to get to the bottom of the Russia probe's origins and that he has "his target" on some of the biggest names associated with it. "If I were James Comey right now or James Clapper right now or John Brennan right now, I would be quaking in my boots," Rivera said.

When assembling a cabal, prudence dictates that one choose the participants with an eye toward circumspection. After all, a loudmouth is not the best repository for your darkest secrets. President Barack Obama may be about to learn that lesson the hard way. In 2010, following the roughshod passage of Obamacare, the American people during the midterm elections unambiguously expressed their disgust with high-handed government edicts. A furious populace handed a solid House majority to Republican leadership, who promptly squandered the opportunity, never missing a chance to stand down, pledging unconvincingly to "fight on the next one."

If I have to choose between sneaky radical leftists who pretend to be small-d democratic activists and honest ones who admit they would stop at nothing in punishing people like me should they gain power, I would always choose the honest ones. Like radical jihadists, they believe that their cause is so righteous that opposition is immoral, and the evil people who oppose them deserve no constitutional protections once they are in power. In fact, the Constitution itself is an obsolete document, written by evil white slave-owners, and a hindrance to the utopia they believe is in reach if only we submit to their command.

Resource shortages would cause hundreds of millions of starvation deaths within a decade. It was cold, hard math: The human population was growing exponentially; the food supply was not.
