San Antonio, Texas—Roughly 300 Congolese and Angolan citizens who arrived in San Antonio the first week of June after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border days earlier have all briskly departed the city for destinations across the country, some with fuzzy plans based partly on hope.
The hundreds of family members and single adults from Central Africa first showed up June 4 at the southern border’s Eagle Pass and Del Rio towns in south-central Texas.(Snip) “If—a family, the sponsor—it’s been 24-48 hours and they can’t buy the [bus] ticket, then we’ll buy it,” Elizabeth Nemeth, executive director of Catholic Charities'

Why don’t these charities take responsibility for these ILLEGALS, clothe them and pay them instead of making the tax payers pay for them?

Everyone of them should have been directly deported. They are criminals.

#1 has a good question. President Trump should go after them for everything the taxpayer has to shell out for these leeches.

This is total insanity. What if some of them have the ebola virus? Is anybody testing them for such infectious dangerous diseases? If not, these acts of misguided compassion are setting loose and distributing deadly diseases throughout the country.
This has got to stop.

This is going on and smaller cities are being salted with people of unknown backgrounds. If they had enough money to make the trek, then they can find another country, just not ours. The Dems and Catholic Charities own this mess! We cannot afford this invasion.
It’s actually interesting why they say they couldn’t come through Europe, too dangerous! Thanks to Frau Merkel for inviting the hordes. s/o

These "charities" are quite a piece of work. Use taxpayer money to make your community a dumping ground so they can feel better about themselves. If they're sincere, how about they take the "Migrant" home with them and support them themselves. Big hearts and empty heads.

My understanding is there is nothing charitable about any of these organizations, they are mostly multimillion or billion dollar (taxpayer dollars) scam with very highly compensated execs.

As of today Portland, ME is happily encouraging over 248 Congolese. No place to put them but they keep coming because these people claim they have family here. It’s hopeless because the leftists in this state are pouring money in to “help” them. They supposedly don’t get government financial help but I want to know how did they pay their way here? They come with huge families looking for housing and there isn’t any. What a disaster! This state is trying to emulate CA and NYState. There are fewer conservatives like me, and we feel that it’s hopeless.

In re #5, I believe an African illegal who had already crossed the border was diagnosed with ebola. I can't recall the news report on this but happened just a few days ago.

#10 I doubt that they come ‘looking for housing’. They come expecting it.

Time to remove the tax exempt status of ANY religious institution that foists these dangerous leeches on our country. I work with a person who is proud of the fact that her church runs an unground organization that helps illegals find food , shelter and gubmint money for these invading hordes .

This is a hostile invasion and the first duty of the federal government per the Constitution is to protect the country’s citizens and its borders. They aren’t doing their jobs and are setting up circumstances wherein only two things can result: total collapse of American society leading to a third world feudal state and/or civil war. We know who is responsible and need leadership to stop it. Trump is great but the leftist Lilliputians have him hemmed in wherever he tries to move. We are only going further down a pit.

As attendance in Catholic Churches in the U.S. continues to slump, the Church has decided to seed their parishes with foreigners in an attempt to build up their waning congregations. Not to mention that after they get paid the relocation fees, all aid and support gets dumped on the taxpayers.Who said Diversity doesn't pay?

16, It's the virtue signaling, social justice warrior, Susan From the Parish Council types, ie. Baby Boomers in the Novus Ordo, who reject the Traditional Latin Mass their kids and grandkids are flocking to.

The Catholic Church is digging it's own grave. On whose order do you suppose the Catholic Charities act??? The much disliked lefty pope is not only detested over here, even Europeans cannot stand this man. If you are Irish, Danish, Dutch or any other European and want to come to the States you have to follow procedure. Someone in the US has to vouch for you in case you are sick and cannot work, they have to take care of you, not the American welfare system! Their waiting time for a green card is 12 to 15 years. Heard on Mark Levin's show when Europeans called in.
A pox on this pope and the catholic church! I have not given a dime since all the sex scandals broke and this commie pope pretended he just heard of it!

Wait until the first one shows up with a suitcase full of Ebola! It won’t be 30 seconds until the leftist Democrats and their media minions try to lay fraudulent blame on President Trump.
Once the first activist liberal federal judge rules that Africans fleeing the possibility of catching Ebola have legitimate asylum cases and can stay in the USA, the entire continent of Africa will be able to get into the USA, all they will have to do is make it to the borderline. No problem, as such a ruling would be in keeping with the leftist Democrat socialist political agenda regarding transforming the USA into a minority majority socialist utopia.

#10- Aside from leftists in Maine “pouring money in to ‘help’ them” (the newly arriving Congolese), it seems appropriate to consider whether wealthy leftists in this country that include not only politicians, but individuals from the entertainment world, the academic world, already established and known leftist activists, etc., might be pouring money into the expenses that all illegal migrants incur from the moment they leave their native countries to come to the States.
Christian charities should not be singled out for what is typically doing good deeds for people in need. Glaringly, leftist politicians refuse to seriously address the immigration problem, refuse to support President Trump’s efforts to build a wall at the southern border, disregard the diseases being brought into this country by illegal migrants; and, the mainstream media embraces the totality of the political left’s ambitions.
Unless and until immigration laws are enforced or changed, unless and until the source(s) of funding for all aspects of illegal migrants is determined and appropriate legal action taken, nothing will change and this country may be doomed to a destiny of no longer being a free nation, no longer being the hope and inspiration envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
