Doctors and hospitals are in the gunsights of many Democrats who want Medicare-for-all as a draconian price control scheme by government over all medical care in the US. Hospitals are told they charge too much and doctors are vilified for earning too much. What a relief that a sugar daddy has appeared, a rich boyfriend, a benefactor with a fat wallet, ready to bestow his financial largess on financially strapped healthcare providers. What a great idea to draw all illegal criminal invaders to that state. It's wonderful to spend money and max out the old credit card. California is the place to be.

No, we do not say such an idiotic thing. This from the foul mouths of the infestation of socialists, formerly known as communists, that riddle the state's government.

In the wake of layoffs of more than 1,000 journalists from BuzzFeed, Verizon Media Group (owner of outlets like HuffPost) and Gannett earlier this year, #LearntoCode became a controversial phrase tweeted at and about those who lost their jobs. One side argued it was harassment. Twitter took this view, suspending accounts of those using the slogan. Another side contended the phrase was a sardonic expression of just deserts for a class of professionals unsympathetic to the loss of jobs in industries like coal mining, thanks to clean energy ideals. A month after these layoffs, Investor’s Business Daily quietly shuttered its own opinion section.

What is this thing called camp, and who can solve its mystery? In 1964, the 33-year-old American writer Susan Sontag, the high priestess of the New York intellectual world, published her iconic essay on “the sensibility, unmistakably modern, that goes by the name of ‘camp.’” Without precise or exact definition, camp indicates love of the unnatural, artifice, exaggeration, esoteric, something of a private code. Camp is discernable in objects, movies, clothes, furniture, popular songs, novels, buildings, and people. In people, the sensibility is markedly attenuated and strongly exaggerated, playful, anti-serious, attempts to be extraordinary.

No matter how many times it has failed in violence, poverty and mass murder, she’s still a fan. In April Candi promised to push communism “by any means necessary.” On June 5th Candi won a seat on the Denver City Council.

At roughly the same time one Republican said he was thinking about co-sponsoring a carbon tax bill, another was tacitly telling Prince Charles to buzz off with his crackpot global warming theories. Thankfully, the latter is president and can veto lousy legislation as well as withdraw from counterproductive international climate pacts. Some Republicans in Congress, prominent among them Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, are warming (yes, warming) to the idea of enacting a carbon tax to do Al Gore’s work, which is “fighting” a windmill called “climate change.” E&E news reports Romney is “considering co-sponsoring a carbon tax bill amid shifting attitudes in the GOP

Is there anything Joe Biden can't do? Joe Biden told an audience in Ottumwa, Iowa Tuesday that his White House would "cure" cancer should he beat President Trump in 2020. "I've worked so hard in my career, that I promise you, if I'm elected president you're gonna see single most important thing that changes America, we're gonna cure cancer," Biden said to applause. First he's teaching Detroit's illiterate single moms the easy-peasy art of computer coding, now he's promising to conquer cancer. Good thing we have Old Joe, otherwise cancer might never be cured. Why didn't we think of it earlier?

The Democrat-led House has been notoriously do-nothing about anything other than attempting to impeach President Trump. No budget, no promised infrastructure bills, no health care reforms, not even an explicit condemnation of anti-Semitism, and shamed by socialist-led Mexico for doing zero about a massive migrant surge pouring over our southern border. Actually, on that front, less than zero, given that they passed a bill to incentivize additional illegal immigration. A real bright bunch, and quite likely to be thrown out come 2020, given such a record reflected in their 20% approval rating.

It’s been a full year since the FCC repealed “net neutrality.” And how have the predictions of doom and gloom held up? In the short time these Obama-imposed rules were in effect, the regulations suddenly became the only thing standing between a vibrant internet and a hellscape of greedy Internet Service Providers blocking access to sites, creating slow lanes, making it impossible for new entrants to get a foothold. From every corner of the news media and advocacy world, we heard how repealing these onerous rules “would be the final pillow in (the internet’s) face” (The New York Times),

AT readers don’t need to be introduced to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, the desperation measure concocted by the Democrats in an effort to make an end run around the Electoral College by pledging states to abide by the popular vote. Fourteen states, along with D.C., have so far passed the compact. One curious provision is that the compact does not go into effect until the number of electoral votes involved reaches 270 – a simple majority which would guarantee a candidate’s victory. The number of electoral votes controlled as of now is 189 – clearly, the promoters have been concentrating on large jurisdictions.

The leftists running California's one-party state have done it again. They've rolled out a $312 billion budget that includes $98 million for free health care for illegal immigrants under the age of 26. That's a dinner triangle to all able-bodied foreign nationals working off the books that the free ride is about to arrive. According to the Sacramento Bee: The expansion will take effect Jan. 1, 2020 and cost $98 million in the upcoming fiscal year. It will make California the first state to allow undocumented adults to sign up for state-funded health coverage.

President Trump walked hard and carried a big stick this week to bludgeon Mexico into honoring its January 2019 deal to halt illegal immigrants at its southern border. As a key implementation requirement in President Trump’s October 2018 restructure of NAFTA, a side deal titled the Migrant Protection Protocols was subsequently signed by newly inaugurated Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in January 2019. The MPP committed Mexico to increase security along its border with Guatemala and to shelter returned illegal aliens caught sneaking across the U.S. Southern Border “for the duration of their immigration proceedings.”

That brings the total damages to $33 million. We will have the breakdown soon. The jury also awarded attorney’s fees, to be determined by the judge. In closing argument, Gibson’s lawyer Lee Plakas argued: “Why is the country watching you. Because the country agrees that what happened to the Gibsons should not happen to anyone, but could happen to everyone.”

President Donald Trump may not alert the FBI if foreign governments offered damaging information against his 2020 rivals during the upcoming presidential race, he said, despite the deluge of investigations stemming from his campaign's interactions with Russians during the 2016 campaign. Asked by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in the Oval Office on Wednesday whether his campaign would accept such information from foreigners -- such as China or Russia -- or hand it over the FBI, Trump said, "I think maybe you do both." "I think you might want to listen, there isn't anything wrong with listening," Trump continued. "If somebody called from a country,

Hence, mismatches like the U.S.-Thailand farce. There just aren’t enough competent women’s teams in some continents to make up a strong world cup field. So far the media has managed to avert its eyes and studiously ignore a major story of corruption and malfeasance in Congress because to cover said story would totally destroy a narrative and expose them to allegations that they are racist. At the epicenter of this tale is the pustulent and rather dim Elijah Cummings from my current state of residence. Cummings is your typical product of the Maryland Democrat machine. The reek of corruption is always near him but never quite attaches to him because he is, as I said, the product of the Maryland Democrat machine and therefore bulletproof. Now all of that may be getting ready to change.
