Obamacare — Thanks Obama

"I am not the first President to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last.” That was how then-President Barack Obama pitched Obamacare to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 9, 2009. He described a health care system in crisis and promised that his reforms would “provide more security and stability to those who have health insurance. It will provide insurance for those who don’t. And it will slow the growth of health care costs for our families, our businesses, and our government.” Nearly a decade after having his vision realized, how have his promises worked out?

It was never about improving health care. It was about grabbing control of individual lives by a class of politically connected bureaucrats, doing the work of insurance and pharmaceutical profiteers, who believe the choices they make for others are more enlightened.

Barry made up the part about improved health care for all. His goal was control and creation of a larger parasite class that would vote democrat forever. Treasury money was to him like water is to the rest of us, free and easily wasted. I sympathized with the working middle class people who were spending outrageous sums on zerocare and getting nothing in return but I managed to avoid giving the system a dime.

Health care is worse for all of us even those who have supplemental insurance. The doctors work for the hospitals who make deals with the insurance companies who determine who gets what kind of care and when. Meanwhile, Congress kept the best medical care in the world for themselves. They do not have to use Obamacare; never did. They want control over everything especially your health care and the climate and your money. They are hooked on OPM and power. It's a deadly combination.

Destruction and waste was the whole purpose of Barry’s time with feet parked on the Resolute Desk. Cash for Clunkers, Solyndra, Obamacare, nonstop vacations for Mooch and entourage, war, open borders, Fast and Furious, ad infinitum. I cannot think of a single positive thing the Kenyan bastage did for America. Not one.

In order to get Obamacare, you had to be employed. If a person became unemployed because of circumstances, Obamacare was off limits. What kind of healthcare is that?

Like virtually ALL THINGS the government interferes with, Nobamacare has been a major disaster. WE KNEW it would be, but in the effort to "hep" people, there were many 'unintended consequences'.... but on the contrary, this was really only a short stop on the way to TOTAL control of healthcare by the government to TAKE $$$ from those who have money INDEPENDENT of the government. For those who had health insurance, it meant taking more from them while others who had no insurance got something. It also meant that employers CUT EMPLOYEES by ELIMINATING full-time jobs and cutting back hours of millions of people. In effect, people had to pay MORE with less hours to make the money, or take extra work to make up the 10 hours of salary they no longer had. For those whose job hours were not cut back, it meant MUCH MORE collected from them in so-called 'out-of-pocket' expenses and having to pay MORE for the SAME or lesser coverage before it kicked in to pay expenses. It cause not a ripple effect but a WAVE of people no longer being able to afford what they had, and instead of getting $2500 back on average as was promised, it cost two to three times MORE, so a pay check's actual purchasing power was hurt to support SOCIALISM, the intended result. The government which governs LEAST governs BEST, but when the demonrat socialists and RINOcrats don't serve the interests of the citizens by ALLOWING the INVASION as the border, it means MORE socialism and economic ruin. The citizenry needs to become ACTIVE and involved or things are going to get MUCH, MUCH WORSE due to no disagreement with what DC is doing to U.S.

When I have to pay for the consequences of your choices I am inclined to interject myself in the process of making those decisions. Nothing cries for control like government healthcare. They really can take your T bone steak away from you while encouraging drug abuse with the next breath, free needles etc. The biggest mistake we can make regarding healthcare is to presume that undoing Obamasnare is all that it needed. Government and the AMA lobby destroyed the free market virtually guaranteeing a cry for a government solution. Insurance has become a private form of socialism with similar results. This was a complete transformational shift from our unique constitutional protection of inalienable negative rights to a positive right. As soon as we accept that notion we are completely done. What do they have on Roberts. They have been spying a long time.

I watched a c span sub committee house meeting to discuss 'surprise' medical bills after surgery. I'm certain that those who were complaining, republicans and democrats, had purchased the bronze level of obolacare, with a 6000 dollar deductible for each member of the family. But I didn't hear them say that. Damned fools, the lot of them.

That should be thanks to Obama and the late vulgarian John McCain. It was his vote that prevented us from getting back some semblance of control over our healthcare costs. But hey, he had his gold star cadillac coverage thanks to his senate career. Earlier poster is also right. This is all about control of a huge chunk of the national budget, not about healthcare. Otherwise millions would be covered, and able to actually afford that coverage.

Even while surrounded by military dictatorships and poverty, Venezuela at one time prospered with a strong economy and stable society. Today, three Latin American nations produce more oil than Venezuela, though it has the world’s largest proven reserves of crude, and just getting sick is nearly the same as death for some children. It has rightly been called the “biggest economic disaster in modern history.” “Hospital shortages,” says the headline of an Agence France-Presse story posted on Yahoo News in late May, are “a death sentence for Venezuelan children.” Half of the children who aren’t dying can’t get enough to eat.

Before climate change became a belief system in which humans are expected to perform penance for their sins against Gaia, recycling was the religion of many in the modern world. Those who didn’t reduce, reuse, and recycle were, and still are, considered heretics. Nearly a quarter century ago, John Tierney wrote in the New York Times Magazine that “Recycling Is Garbage.” In an article that produced the greatest volume of hate mail in the magazine’s history, Tierney said that rather than recycling, “the simplest and cheapest option is usually to bury garbage in an environmentally safe landfill.” With the exception of a few items — aluminum cans, cardboard, office paper

Late last month, the Congressional Research Service released a report entitled “The Economic Effects of the 2017 Tax Revision: Preliminary Observations.” “On the whole, the growth effects tend to show a relatively small (if any) first-year effect on the economy,” the CRS found, adding that “Although examining the growth rates cannot indicate the effects of the tax cut on GDP, it does tend to rule out very large effects in the near term.” A number of media outlets, as could be expected, went apoplectic, declaring that the Trump tax cuts have nothing to do with the booming economy, and thus also won’t make up any of the revenue lost.

Robert F. Smith’s tremendous act of generosity astounded the nation and the world. Media outlets across the globe covered his commencement address to Morehouse College’s class of 2019 in which he announced that he will donate tens of millions of dollars to pay the student loan debts of 400 people, most of whom he likely doesn’t even know. While the dollar amount is, of course, impressive, what really makes this story exceptional is that it is an act of free will. The fact that this donation was voluntary and deliberate is important to recognize as our country is increasingly receptive to socialist ideas.

In an editorial published last week, Bloomberg (the news site, not the former mayor) declares that the only way cities can “dramatically improve air quality and extend lives shortened by pollution” is to follow the lead of places like Amsterdam and “ban (non-electric) cars.” “Cities should offer up-front incentives to buy zero-emission cars, for instance, as well as non-financial benefits such as parking vouchers. Higher taxes on petrol and diesel cars — whether via congestion tolls or at the pump — will encourage drivers to switch and offset some of the costs of the transition,” the editorial board says.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent 10 minutes publicly stating that his 448-page, two-part, $35 million and 22-months-in-the-making report speaks for itself, as he announced he was closing shop and retiring. In so doing, he said he couldn’t charge a sitting President with a crime, but if he could have exonerated him he would have said so. This starkly politicizes presidential investigations going forward and indicts, if we may say so, the already-dubious system of weaponizing a lawyer with a blank check, no deadline, and an open-ended mandate for him to fish where he likes with minimal oversight.

Second a “carbon tax” is the holy grail for the totalitarian globalist world view. The concept of a tax on carbon emissions was developed inside the same financial network of multinational monetary interests that control the current global trade system. Powerful financial interests directly connected to The World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Trade Organization (WTO), together with global banking interests connected to Wall Street and
