Mayor Pete Buttigieg met with children in Palo Alto, California, on Sunday, telling them the president was “really mean” during a family brunch event for his campaign. One of the children asked Buttigieg how he was going to defeat President Donald Trump in 2020.“We can’t play his game, You know how he’s really mean? He likes to call people names? ” he asked. “If we do it his way, I think we’re going to lose, so we have to change the whole game.” Buttigieg told the child that he would focus his campaign on issues that mattered in people’s lives, not just the fight with Trump.

Buttigieg thinks American want a leader like him? One that tries to put such ideas in the heads of children? I never understood why democrats just can't agree to disagree. They are so immature and insecure. They will never experience true happiness.

Trump is a realist. Reality can look mean, but it is the only way to get things done. You can't expose your backside to everyone that wants a piece of it. The Mayor should understand this.

Of course the tech and media elite in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Woodside, and Portola Valley love Mayor Pete — they’re completely divorced from the real world, enamored of their ability to create their own realities, and their gift to the great unwashed is to create reality for us as well. Here’s the reality they’ve created about Mayor Pete — he’s turned South Bend around with lots of hope and change and the citizens love him so much they reelected him in 2015 with 80% of the vote. The reality is less impressive. South Bend is an impoverished mess and will be for a long time. The population of South Bend is around 100,000; whites make up about 60% of the population, blacks 26%, and 13% identified as Hispanic. In 2011 Buttigieg won his first mayoral election with 10,991 votes (that’s total votes, not margin of victory). In June, 2015, Buttigieg publicly announced he was gay. Five months later he won re-election with, yes, 80% of the votes. The total vote reality? Only 8,515 total votes — a huge drop from 2011. The reality is blacks and Hispanics stayed home. And they'll stay away in droves if Buttigieg is anywhere on the Democrat ticket in 2020. Mayor Pete won’t be on the ticket, of course, but he’s also not going back to South Bend. In my opinion, he’s Clinton-level ambitious and wants to stay on the national stage; we will not be rid of him for a very long time.
