A Coatesville, Pennsylvania, convenience store customer foiled an alleged Tuesday night robbery attempt by shooting the suspect multiple times. Daily Local News reports the incident occurred in the Turkey Hill Market, where the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and “demanded money from employees.” The concealed permit holder went into the store, drew his gun, and shot the suspect multiple times. Fox 29 reports that the suspect was identified as Lawrence Galloway. He suffered “multiple gunshot wounds to the lower torso” and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, the clerk can't be fired because it was a customer who did the shooting. But I suppose the owner of the store could ban the customer.

The suspect was shot multiple times in the lower abdomen. Gutshot. Ooh, yeow! Kidneys? Liver? Intestines? All of ‘em? If Lawrence Galloway lives he’ll likely be a strong advocate for not walking into a store to rob it.

I applaud the civilian who shot the criminal. But...it is preferable to dispatch such an individual completely. The lawyers are already circling to sue the hero on behalf of the crook. My decision, already made, is that I will go for the kill shot to avoid the lawsuit. I live in Texas and no jury would convict me nor would any prosecutor bring me upon charges.

#9, I don't know about Pennsy, but many states, and definitely KS has a law to explicitly prevent ANY lawsuits against a person for a shooting which was judged a legitimate self defense shooting by the prosecutor. Hope Pennsy has that law, too.

When you look at Mr. Galloway's photo he has dead eyes, looks like a very bad person to run into in a convenience store at midnight.

Good thing this didn't happen in Cuomo's commie NY. He'd have the CC holder prosecuted and jailed for life and the robber would get a nice multi-million payout for being an upstanding citizen that needs protecting.

I have been blessed to have lived and/or worked in many countries. Some are socialist. Others were socialist cubed. They all have negative effects, and the real world experience people take from it matters. Look at socialized medicine. Sally C. Pipes, who's the president and CEO of the Pacific Research Institute and from Vancouver, Canada, has expressed her dismay with Canada’s socialized health care system. Sadly, her mother perished while waiting for proper treatment, because of all the long lines for treatment. It was almost as if the system wanted to get rid of her elderly mother.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak (D) on Thursday vetoed a bill which would have pledged the state’s six electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote for President of the United States. Assembly Bill 186, which recently passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would have seen Nevada join with 14 other states in an agreement to vote for the winner of the popular vote. The Assembly had voted in favor of the measure 23-17. “Once effective, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact could diminish the role of smaller states like Nevada in national electoral contests and force Nevada’s electors to side with whoever wins the nationwide popular vote,

There's one caveat, however: the cathedral must be returned to its "last known visual state." In other words, despite French president Emmanuel Macron's desire to see parts of the cathedral rebuilt with an eye to more "contemporary architecture," the French government wants to see Notre Dame returned to its former glory, according to The Local.

Bill Weld conceded in an interview this week that Republican voters have little appetite for his insurgent primary bid to block President Trump from renomination in 2020. The former Massachusetts governor did not dispute Trump’s high approval ratings with self-identified Republicans, nor claim a silent groundswell for his long shot campaign. But Weld predicted Trump would grow vulnerable to a primary challenge in the months ahead, insisting his campaign was a key element in softening the political support the president enjoys inside the GOP.

Markets thrive on competition. Unfortunately, this doesn’t just apply to real economic markets. It also applies to markets for bad ideas and political pandering. With approximately 200 Democrats now running for president (we lost count a few weeks ago), the bidding to bribe Iowa caucusgoers is becoming intense. This includes the many admirers of Martin Luther King but also the various figures, including alleged paramours still alive, named in the article. The manner in which the government assembled the derogatory information on King — gathered with the approval of Democratic officials, including Attorney General Robert Kennedy, all feigning support for the civil rights leader — sickens in a literal sense.
