'Blazing Saddles' and other classic films
don’t deserve wrath of social justice warriors

Classic films now face the wrath of perpetually enraged social justice warriors. Last weekend’s "Watters World" on Fox News Channel analyzed the impact of this politically correct phenomenon. Exhibit A was Mel Brooks’ “Blazing Saddles,” the single funniest motion picture ever committed to celluloid. Jesse Watters’ guest, Cathy Areu, publisher of Catalina Magazine, responded to a clip of the comedy-Western in which Brooks himself portrays a Yiddish speaking American Indian chief. After securing safe passage for a family of black pioneers rolling West in their stagecoach, the feather-headdress-clad Indian bids them, “auf wiedersehen.”

Across five decades, audiences have appreciated the inspiring moral of this saga: Courage, perseverance, brains, and love can erode hate, just as the Colorado River carved the Grand Canyon from desert stone. No. It was simply the funniest movie ever made. Snowflakery in the form of psychoanalyzing this film is not necessary. And, for what it’s worth, I would rather sit through this old film again a hundred more times than to watch most of the snake-pit hypersexualized, overtly liberal detritus coming out of Hollywood’s cesspool today. But that’s just me.

About 90% of cable networks have allowed the PC police to stomp all over 'artistic integrity' and blipped out all of the un-PC words. From this you can see how far our 'society' has regressed from the advanced state it was - to allow satire of offensive thinking such as sexual objects, ethnic jokes - black. white, jewish, religious, gay, trannie, chinese, dumb blonde, ethnic stereotypes, political behavior, all sorts of things Brooks poked fun at, and the sophisticated 1970s audience laughed along at.....vs today with the PC-nanny state stomping on our 1st Amendment rights and our cowardly submission to them. Excuse me while I whip this out....

Liberals have certainly come a long way, baby. They used to be the ones who pushed anything goes free speech. Open sexuality. George Carlin's seven word you can't say that everyone then started saying openly. Now liberals are the biggest prudes on the planet. Even complimenting a woman on her looks is treated as a sexual assault. You can't joke about any ethnic trait. You can't even make an Ok sign without being accused of belonging to the KKK. Why is everyone complying with this absurd insanity? Why are screwed up people being allowed to impose their goofy standards on us? Freedom of speech is what made America great. Don't let them take it away from us. Fight back.

PC is everywhere. Was watching the movie "Chinatown" on tv and the word "midget" was removed. So when the planet Pluto was demoted it was called a Dwarf Planet instead the M Word. Decades ago the term Black Holes was introduced. Offended some. So now we have the terms Dark Matter and Energy. Can't offend anyone. When the movie Emperor Jones is shown on tv the N word disappears. I wish they would apply the new free speech rules to rap music.

The best that one can do is to ignore and belittle these mentally challenged, self-important idiots and hope that they don't procreate. They have not corrected one legitimate wrong in America but grab headlines constantly for carrying crayon-written signs and acting like children concerned about imaginary wrongs. Social justice would be to imprison them all by dumping them into the middle of the Australian desert but we are too civilized for that. Lucky for them they never come into flyover country where the real people live. They would leave with many scars.

As the article points out, "auf Wiedersehn" is simply German. But what surprised me was that the author quotes the SJW as complaining about that, right after he mentions the Indian's speaking Yiddish. The Yiddish was when the Indian chief (Mel Brooks) called the black family "schwarzers," which was hilarious. As is the whole flick, of course. I'll pass on the beans scene, I guess that's just a guy thing.

I was watching an old Eastwood movie not long ago....'The Outlaw Josie Wales'. One scene has him kneeling in grief at the graves of his wife and child and a detachment of Confederate partisans approaches led by William 'Bloody Bill' Anderson. They have a Confederate battle flag leading the troop. In the TV version, the flag has been blacked out lest it offend some delicate snowflake.

I never realized just how far we have slid down the PC rabbit hole until I watched the first several episodes of Last Man Standing. I found myself holding my breath, thinking that today was going to be the day that the network cancelled them for being so un-PC. Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein were two of the most hilarious movies ever made by Mel Brooks. Own and love both of them. The PC police are so busy crushing all the fun out of everyone's life that they have lost the art os simply smelling the roses. Not everything needs to be psychoanalyzed within an inch of its life. Sometimes it is simply what it is. Good and hilarious fun. Dittos with All in the Family and the Jefferson's. Loved both those series as well. Want to blow the mind of a liberal? Tell them that Richard Pryor wrote the character dialogue for the Waco Kid, and Gene Wilder wrote the dialogue for the Sheriff. In their reality, whites could not write dialogue for black people and vice versa. A bit of Trivia, Mel's son Max is the one who wrote World War Z, the novel that pretty much started the current zombie craze in Hollywood.

Bowdlerization to satisfy political correctness abounds. That's why you should never watch movies on any channel where they edit them for content. I once saw Tropic Thunder on some basic cable channel, and "you never go full retard" was changed to "you never go full special."

Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies. It, along with "Airplane" and even the hilarious "Robin Hood, Men in Tights" could not be made today. Blazing Saddles is hilarious, especially in its uncensored glory. I suggest buying the DVD, so you won't get stuck watching the 'sanitized' versions on cable. A couple of weeks ago, I remembered I hadn't seen the movie for a while, so I 'whipped out' my uncensored DVD and howled with laughter. Really perked me up. And if anything it's even funnier, now since it is so 'subversive'...

BURLINGTON, Vt.—Early on in his eight years as the mayor of this city, when he typically dressed in a tieless ensemble of work boots and corduroys, Bernie Sanders one day left City Hall and found a ticket on the windshield of his rusty Volkswagen Dasher. The offense: This was the mayor’s spot, and, surely, a cop had thought, this was not the mayor’s car. But it was. It matched perfectly with both Sanders’ image as a scrappy advocate of the little guy and his own shaky financial reality. It was the beginning of the 1980s, and he was approaching 40, a single father of a not-quite-teenage son,

Should rural and small-town Americans be reduced to serfdom? The American Founders didn’t think so. This is one reason why they created checks and balances, including the Electoral College. Today that system is threatened by a proposal called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, or NPV. Rural America produces almost all our country’s food, as well as raw materials like metals, cotton and timber. Energy, fossil fuels but also alternatives like wind and solar come mostly from rural areas. In other words, the material inputs of modern life flow out of rural communities and into cities. This is fine, so long as the exchange is voluntary — rural people choose to sell

Perez told The Hill the party has not determined the methodology of the random draw, but he did promise the process would be transparent for all the candidates. The ultimate goal is to avoid the perception that the Democratic Party is intent on giving any one candidate an advantage, he added. “We wanted to make sure we didn’t have our thumb on the scale,” said Perez, who previously served as an attorney inside the Obama administration.

A U.S. House of Representatives attempt to block President Donald Trump from spending about $6.1 billion on a southern border wall ran into what could be a major obstacle of its own Thursday -- a skeptical federal judge. The Democrat-led chamber asked U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden in Washington to bar the administration from reallocating the money from other Defense Department projects in the wake of Congress’s outright refusal to give the president all the funding he sought for the project. But the judge -- a 2017 Trump nominee -- had reservations, opining at the outset about an apparent lack of legal precedent

Imagine, for a moment, what the political reaction would be if a leading Republican senator met with an antagonistic foreign power, say Russia, in the midst of high-tension standoff between President Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin? Such a scenario seems nearly inconceivable. Yet, it’s exactly the situation Sen. Dianne Feinstein created when hosting Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif for dinner a few weeks ago. Politico reported on the meeting, noting that it was “a bit unusual” for a former chair of the Intelligence Committee and a member of the Senate minority to dine out with the acting foreign minister of an adversary of the United States. Barack Obama is literally more popular than Jesus among Democrats. Unfortunately, neither the former president nor any of the party’s 23 candidates currently seeking the 2020 nomination know quite what to do with that information. Of course, before any serious endorsement conversation can commence, Obama has to finish his book (between rounds of golf and raising millions for his foundation). The writing has been going more slowly than he’d expected, and according to several people who have spoken with him, the 44th president is feeling competitive with his wife, whose own book, Becoming, was the biggest release of 2018 and is on track to be the best-selling memoir in history.

Every presidential primary ends with one winner and a lot of losers. Some might argue that one or two once-little-known candidates who overperform low expectations get to enjoy a form of moral victory. (Ben Carson and Rick Perry might be happy how the 2016 cycle ended, with both taking roles in Trump’s cabinet. Bernie Sanders might be, too.) But running for president and flopping is a deep disappointment, and while the occasional figure can emerge from a failed bid to move on to different victories — Lamar Alexander and Elizabeth Dole became senators, Jerry Brown became governor again, Howard Dean became chair of the Democratic National Committee —
