Classic films now face the wrath of perpetually enraged social justice warriors. Last weekend’s "Watters World" on Fox News Channel analyzed the impact of this politically correct phenomenon.
Exhibit A was Mel Brooks’ “Blazing Saddles,” the single funniest motion picture ever committed to celluloid.
Jesse Watters’ guest, Cathy Areu, publisher of Catalina Magazine, responded to a clip of the comedy-Western in which Brooks himself portrays a Yiddish speaking American Indian chief. After securing safe passage for a family of black pioneers rolling West in their stagecoach, the feather-headdress-clad Indian bids them, “auf wiedersehen.”

About 90% of cable networks have allowed the PC police to stomp all over 'artistic integrity' and blipped out all of the un-PC words. From this you can see how far our 'society' has regressed from the advanced state it was - to allow satire of offensive thinking such as sexual objects, ethnic jokes - black. white, jewish, religious, gay, trannie, chinese, dumb blonde, ethnic stereotypes, political behavior, all sorts of things Brooks poked fun at, and the sophisticated 1970s audience laughed along at.....vs today with the PC-nanny state stomping on our 1st Amendment rights and our cowardly submission to them. Excuse me while I whip this out....

The "Blazing Saddles" that appears on TV now has been censored. It is not as funny. I saw it in the theater when it came out and had some guilty laughs. Slim Pickens is hilarious.

Blazing saddles is my husband's favorite movie, when we are with friends the guys recite lines from the movie, I don't get it but they are laughing like crazy, maybe it's the beer? I'm tired of the social justice idiots who think its okay to tell us what is okay to watch. They push their LGBTQ agenda and say we Must watch that lunacy, however they want to take away what we like. Its Bull

Liberals have certainly come a long way, baby. They used to be the ones who pushed anything goes free speech. Open sexuality. George Carlin's seven word you can't say that everyone then started saying openly.
Now liberals are the biggest prudes on the planet. Even complimenting a woman on her looks is treated as a sexual assault. You can't joke about any ethnic trait. You can't even make an Ok sign without being accused of belonging to the KKK.
Why is everyone complying with this absurd insanity? Why are screwed up people being allowed to impose their goofy standards on us?
Freedom of speech is what made America great. Don't let them take it away from us. Fight back.

The SJWs can't get out of their divorced mothers' basement bedroom long enough to wake up and smell the coffee and laugh at something funny.

PC is everywhere. Was watching the movie "Chinatown" on tv and the word "midget" was removed. So when the planet Pluto was demoted it was called a Dwarf Planet instead the M Word. Decades ago the term Black Holes was introduced. Offended some. So now we have the terms Dark Matter and Energy. Can't offend anyone. When the movie Emperor Jones is shown on tv the N word disappears. I wish they would apply the new free speech rules to rap music.

The best that one can do is to ignore and belittle these mentally challenged, self-important idiots and hope that they don't procreate. They have not corrected one legitimate wrong in America but grab headlines constantly for carrying crayon-written signs and acting like children concerned about imaginary wrongs. Social justice would be to imprison them all by dumping them into the middle of the Australian desert but we are too civilized for that. Lucky for them they never come into flyover country where the real people live. They would leave with many scars.

Saw Blazing Saddles in Iowa City when in college. Walked out and the actor who was the mayor was standing there by himself. I went up and asked what he was doing and he said he had never seen the movie with a live audience! Favorite movie ever!

Those were the days! We could laugh at stereotypes of our own making and make fun of our deepest fears. All in fun and frivolity. SJW, PCs and others by definition are Thought Police. Nazi holdovers.

I was watching an old Eastwood movie not long ago....'The Outlaw Josie Wales'. One scene has him kneeling in grief at the graves of his wife and child and a detachment of Confederate partisans approaches led by William 'Bloody Bill' Anderson. They have a Confederate battle flag leading the troop. In the TV version, the flag has been blacked out lest it offend some delicate snowflake.

That's Mongo #20 "only a pawn in the game of life"
I first saw it in Sydney Australia when it was released - was one a 12 airdales onboard a 1052 class DE (now FF) on a solo detachment to play games with HMAS Can Opener - steaming back to the PI we had two movies aboard - "Blazing Saddles" & "American Graffiti"

I never realized just how far we have slid down the PC rabbit hole until I watched the first several episodes of Last Man Standing. I found myself holding my breath, thinking that today was going to be the day that the network cancelled them for being so un-PC.
Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein were two of the most hilarious movies ever made by Mel Brooks. Own and love both of them. The PC police are so busy crushing all the fun out of everyone's life that they have lost the art os simply smelling the roses. Not everything needs to be psychoanalyzed within an inch of its life. Sometimes it is simply what it is. Good and hilarious fun. Dittos with All in the Family and the Jefferson's. Loved both those series as well.
Want to blow the mind of a liberal? Tell them that Richard Pryor wrote the character dialogue for the Waco Kid, and Gene Wilder wrote the dialogue for the Sheriff. In their reality, whites could not write dialogue for black people and vice versa. A bit of Trivia, Mel's son Max is the one who wrote World War Z, the novel that pretty much started the current zombie craze in Hollywood.

Bowdlerization to satisfy political correctness abounds. That's why you should never watch movies on any channel where they edit them for content. I once saw Tropic Thunder on some basic cable channel, and "you never go full retard" was changed to "you never go full special."

RE the thin-skinned SJW's, to paraphrase the Waco Kid: "You've got to remember that these are just simple [leftists]. . . The common clay of the new [left]. You know... morons."
Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies. It, along with "Airplane" and even the hilarious "Robin Hood, Men in Tights" could not be made today. Too many thin-skinned infants crying and whining about being offended.

Blazing Saddles was shown on AMC this afternoon. Still funny after all these years.
It must really s@ck to be an SJW - just imagine living your life in a constant state of outrage, anger and bitterness.

That film was a knee slapper. The funniest I have ever seen. I watch it once in a while if it becomes available on TV movie channels. Some movies never get old and that is one of them.

Blazing Saddles is hilarious, especially in its uncensored glory.
I suggest buying the DVD, so you won't get stuck watching the 'sanitized' versions on cable.
A couple of weeks ago, I remembered I hadn't seen the movie for a while, so I 'whipped out' my uncensored DVD and howled with laughter. Really perked me up.
And if anything it's even funnier, now since it is so 'subversive'...
