If you don’t know the name John Durham now is the time to remember the name, John Durham Here’s why…(Snip) Attorney General William Barr tapped Connecticut’s chief federal prosecutor, John Durham, to assist in an investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation and the FBI’s surveillance activities, a person familiar with the matter said Monday. The person, who is not authorized to comment publicly, said that Durham has been assisting the attorney general for at least a couple of weeks to determine whether federal investigators acted appropriately in the early stages of the now-completed inquiry into

I don´t think anyone would take on this task if there was not some meat left on the bone.

Wasn´t Mueller in charge of the investigation where four men were innocently jailed? Yet he wasn´t charged. But Durham exculpated the four with a $100M judgement. My first question would be to Halper - who hired him.

Sounds like this U.S. Attorney from CT might want to revisit the DOJ/FBI review of News Corp in 2013-14 (UK hacking)...lots of ´smoke´ in those emails that would make Murdochs amenable to Valjar´s future wishes, or be hit with rock-solid FCPA charges.
Rupert played the game with Alison Saunders, Chief Crown Prosecutor during the UK hacking trial--after two years of diluted shame and uneasiness, everything is forgotten.

One of the of lead FBI guys in Boston was put in jail over the Bulger mess. Muelface wasn´t charged, but I don´t know if he could have been complicit. Have to listen to Howie Carr´s take on it today.

"John Durham is an outstanding choice for special prosecutor investigating 2016 pre-election activities—his selection further demonstrates Bill Barr’s tenacity and determined desire to get to the truth and restore credibility at the top tier of the DOJ and FBI." ~ Representative Mark Meadows (5/14/19)

Good thought #12. All we need is a new piece to one of the puzzles everyday. There are many puzzles all connected in puzzling ways.
How can I be on the jury?

Yeah..... a trickle at fire; then faster and faster trickles until the MSM is so overwhelmed they won´t be able to keep up the spin. I believe that might be POTUS´s intention. It´ll be fun to watch that´s for sure.

When I read this, hope springs up and I find myself believing that the rule of law and equality under the law are not dead yet. The men involved in this investigation have a decision to make and that is to be on the right side of history. I pray the men who are being put into place will be driven by the fundamental principles undergirding our Constitution. Justice must be served regardless of status or position. As we go through this process, I pray that it will be shown beyond a reasonable doubt that crimes were committed which require arrest, prosecution and incarceration. Follow the evidence wherever it leads regardless of party affiliation or position. If this is done, it must be done in a way that no reasonable person can dispute the outcome. Dare I hope that the country will be stronger and more united for it. We have been slipping away from our fundamental principles of law and order. Maybe this will be an opportunity to firmly plant our feet again in the rule of law and equality under the law. One thing is certain, if we ignore this or whitewash it, we are done. The people will not stand for anything but justice. Too much is known and the division in the country will deepen and become unsustainable.

When I first saw the name in print - - I momentarily thought it was Judith Durham - -
- - who was the lead singer for The Seekers when they recorded "Georgie Girl."
Even so - - Judith would be much more effective than Consessions or Wray.
Go JOHN Durham!

Drip....drip....drip.
A slow drip. Indeed, timing is everything. The President knows what he is doing and the evil he does battle with.
The deep state will go down. Not entirely between now and November 2020. Its destruction will continue into the second term.
Several useful idiots will go down first. The deep state´s honchos will come later. Rule of law will win.
The Big Ugly is here and Durham´s investigation is another piece of the initial stages.

Interesting that BOTH Clapper and Brennan were on TV yesterday yammering that WE DON´T NEED NO MORE STINKIN INVESTIGATIONS! Yes we do, because the Two of you are in this up to your Eyeballs!! Go Mr. Durham!

Curmudgeon here and hate to kill the buzz, shoot your purple unicorns and burn pom-poms but NO; you completely disregard what happened TO MUELLER when the "bulldog" Durham discovered Mueller was caught committing a crime by knowingly and illegally keeping four innocent men in prison. Mueller was punished so harshly that he kept his job, was promoted, got raises, and he even got to illegally aid the coup to remove a duly elected president and destroy several innocent people´s lives who associated with the duly elected president. O the humanity!
Them´s the facts kids. So when you order your groovy sheets and pillows because you, once again, got rope-a-doped into thinking Mr. Durham´s "investigation" will result in indictments, trials, sentences and actual prison time for anyone in the coup from Obama to Hillary to Comey to Strzok to Clapper to the FISA judges, you know, the people who created the coup and are STILL implementing the coup in broad daylight, totally unabated, and STILL getting rewarded for the coup; remember the reward Mueller is still enjoying for his crimes that "bulldog" Durham discovered in the Whitey deal.

Me, too. I´m sadly raining on the parade.
WHY after ALL these years, after ALL the investigations, after ALL the committees, after ALL the "Yeah-maybe-but-we-can´t-prove-intent"s----why, NOW do we suddenly think that cornered, confronted crooks are suddenly gonna roll over and say, "OK, you finally caught us." Nobody´s going down without even MORE of a fight.
The libs claim Mueller gave them a blueprint. Well, the libs have given US a blueprint as well. Look at how they operate: #MeToos will come out of the woodwork, for starters. They´ll crank up their hysteria to an even more feverish pitch and rely on the media to make the Barr and Durham seem like monsters. It´s been their successful MO thus far. WHY CHANGE?
I´d love to be wrong on this, but my head says I´m not.

Call me cynical but I"ll believe it when I see it, i.e. a successful prosecution of the deep state characters. It would be joy to see Brennan perp walked into an orange jump suit. For some reason he seems to be the most repugnant of the coup gang.

I am with #16 regarding having some hope that the corrupt and the evil will be punished. AG William Barr and John Durham look to be our last, best hope of seeing the guilty brought to justice. However, both #22 and #24 are right that, so far, the guilty have been protected and the innocent punished.
If this is swept under the rug, then equal justice under the law is a lie and the powerful can do anything to us. May heaven help us.

Let´s hope but I think small things will happen first then after 2020 it will shift into serious indictments of big people.
Trump still has to construct a wall and deal with immigration and possible a looming war with Iran.

The problem with the slow drip is the acclamation of the frog in the boiling pot. It becomes old news and is no longer shocking. America needs to see what the cabal has done and rise up to condemn it, before the anger subsides and poorly placed compassion intervenes.

Have to agree with #22 for now. Our justice system is completely off the rails. Mueller should have gone to jail too for ignoring the rule of law. As the sister of a young man who gave his life for his country, I have told my family I will hide my grandsons in the trunk of my car and cross a border before I let them go to war to defend the likes of those in charge of the justice system as it stands now.

During the time they’ve been working together, Barr and Durham have obviously found more than enough to justify Barr’s hiring Durham to conduct his own investigation.
A “hard-charging bulldog prosecutor” sounds refreshing… Barr has shown himself to be anything but a shrinking violet...
