Only Biden Can Save the Democrats from Total Embarrassment

Joe Biden’s announcement of his candidacy for president must be seen as the last stand of forces trying to prevent the Democratic party from descending in a power dive into a mighty bonfire of the far Left. That party’s only plan of action since Election Day 2016 has been to attempt to destroy Trump, and that tactic survived even the complete dismissal of the Trump–Russia collusion canard and the declination of leaders of the Justice Department to accuse the president of obstruction of justice (for the reason that no ingredients for a prosecution existed).

The Gropesaurus may stand taller than the Kamalaraptor or the Betodon...but he is still hopelessly mired in the fetid swamp of Progressivism, headed for the tar pit of history.

If Biden (who has been on the wrong side of history for fifty years) is their only hope, the Democrats are in desperate trouble.
What a sad way for a political party to meet its doom.

Having watched Lunch bucket’s speech the other day, it is obvious that there is something wrong his wiring topside. He’s making less sense than usual and is having trouble cobbling together a diagramable sentence. He’s starting to remind me of Governor La Petamaine in Blazing Saddles.

Biden is the best candidate for arousing fear amongst the elderly that Trump will reduce Social Security and Medicare benefits if re-elected. He’ll lie with a sincere face to tell those over 65 that “you’re gonna pay for Trump’s tax cuts for the rich”. He’ll tell the empty headed millenials that “We can save the planet without bankrupting the US or forcing your parents into energy poverty”. If anything, millenials living in apartments don’t want to share this space with their aging parents, And, he’ll guarantee that the rich and corporations must pay their “fair share in taxes” without bothering to explain the negative consequences of taxing job creators.
As to his presidential skills, he hasn’t displayed any in almost 50 years of government. His chief skill is discretly enriching himself and his family while claiming he’s one of us. As if we all have net worths of, I am guessing, $45 to $60 million and a lavish federal pension. He’s not one of us. Rather, Biden is a self-serving pol who has never hesitated at making every issue highly partisan in order to avoid honest discussion.

An embarrassment is the only way to save them from total embarrassment?
Good luck with that. The election is 18 months away - plenty of time for Plastic Joe to make a gaffe so large that it will destroy him.

Biden started the democrats down that path decades ago and they were happy to follow him. I hope he left a trail of crumbs if he wants to bring them back.
I also hope he realizes that being POTUS involves more than serving Obama coffee.

It is hard to believe that Black thinks, like Peggy Noonan, that Trump should put out a hand in friendship. That was shocking. Trump knows the minute he does that, his hand will be bitten by the crotchety old lady dogs living under the Congressional porch.

It´s hard to believe Joe Biden is the left´s ´golden calf´. Even the left´s media can´t put Joe Biden back together again after he opens his mouth and makes a gaff or two.
Why not start with, "Joe Biden is forty points ahead and rising". If you are going to lie then lie big.

Obama could not speak to first graders without a teleprompter crew. His thought process and grammar were truly pitiful.
Biden´s speech slurring is obviously the result of his three brain operations. One must feel sympathy for him but not the desperate demorats!!

Are you sure about that Conrad? Because it seems to me that the entire administration Biden was a part of WAS and still is an embarrassment. Let all the poisons come out in the mud.
The embarrassment of a shellacking that one of the other dem candidates like Kamala will get is nothing compared to the exposure of all the poison of 8 years of Obama.

"if he had made peace offerings to the old Washington hands, it would have been scorned"
That was a sure thing. Establishment Washington, especially Conservative establishment Washington HATED Trump before the election and have been cheerleading for him to fail even as he delivers on their policy initiatives. They are maniacally driven to oppose him because of their egos.
"if Joe Biden isn’t the nominee"
And there is a strong likelihood that he will NOT be OR if he is that he will NOT be able to get the Left to support him. It is not outside the realm of possibility that we could see a Leftist 3rd party candidate.
"Parties often rebuild themselves"
True, IF there is a cohesive core to rebuild on. The dem party has been balkanized and been only held together by manipulations and lies. One of BO´s contributions was to stoke up individual components of the party and push them beyond control. Anyone trying to reconstitute the dem party as a "whole" entity is going to be met with enormous resentment and doubt as to their motives. Plus WHO could possibly lead such a reunification? The dem leaders are a bad joke. BO might try but he never had strong connections to the party beyond what he needed to get elected. The leadership doesn´t like him and doesn´t trust him. Rebuilding the party is wishful thinking absent some MAJOR changes in thinking and MAJOR changes in leadership.

If the DNC tries to railroad Crazy Bernie again, this time for fumbling Biden, the dem primary season should provide some really impressive fireworks.
I enjoy Conrad Black´s writing style immensely, but if he finds himself agreeing with Peggy Noonan on anything, he´s out to lunch.

I worry they will try an run Biden with Moochelle as VP. They might actually win with that ticket. If the do, then Biden will step down for "health reasons" half way through his first term.
