Caster Semenya, a two-time Olympic champion runner, has lost her appeal against proposed rules to limit her testosterone levels in what could be a milestone moment for athletics and gender in sport.(Snip)The South African runner, who won gold in the 800 meters in 2012 and 2016, was challenging proposals brought by the sport´s governing body -- the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) --to enforce limits on testosterone levels of female athletes with differences in sexual development (DSDs).

Wait, they ruled discrimination was ´such discrimination is a necessary, reasonable´. Unbelievable. Discrimination is now OK but only if it benefits women. Sar off

Because you can´t, that´s why

Goodbye Olympics. They might as well bring in elephants and giraffes as competitors.
People crack me up. They ruin everything eventually.

Shocking that political correctness didn´t overtake the IAAF. Apparently, Semenya still has a further appeal right. What do Semenya´s chromosomes say, by the way? And why isn´t this a women´s issue?

Maybe she could sew wings to her back and become a swan and FLY to the finish line.

Maybe I missed it, but in reading the article I didn´t see them mention he was born a man. They danced around the subject, but implied he was a woman from birth. There should be NO reason to kick him out of the competitions other than HE is competing with WOMEN and he has a huge advantage because HE is a MAN! End of discussion. Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure that one out!!

How strange. Reading the article, she claims that she was born a female and raised a female. It seems like this might be a case where the doctor decided the sex at birth because of a birth defect, and likely picked the wrong one.

This is, after all, South Africa, where medicine is not what it was say in 1960 when Dr. Barnard did the first heart transplant.
These things do happen genetically. However Semenya is making a lot of personal hay out of this saying that the IAAF targeted her (him?) personally. That´s when she (he) lost me.

Any possible rule can and will be attacked by someone who is excluded.
And if that someone´s self-declaration must be honored then any person must be allowed to compete in any contest.
It is an absolute akin to "The woman must always be believed."
And pity all the millions of Astronauts that nations have unfairly excluded from rides to the ISS.

If ´´she´´ doesn´t eliminate ´´herself´´ from the competition of females - then those who are biologically female should walk off the field leaving ´´her´´to compete in a race all ´´her´´ own - all by ´´herself´´ - a sure winner just the same. A forewarnng of the walk-off, given & taken without fanfare, should alleviate any disgrace or embarrassment.

Innie or outie, OE or faked up, ultimately a higher testosterone level is a BIG advantage.
This is why REAL men will almost always beat REAL women in sports with a premium on muscle mass and physical strength.
Just as it is illegal for REAL men to use extra testosterone injections, is needs to be illegal for actual XY men who are PRETENDING to be a woman (regardless of whatever sad butchery has been performed) cannot be permitted to compete with ACTUAL XX women.
This really isn´t that difficult, it is just the insane political environment that is warping sanity to try to make insane people into "normal" people. Not working.

I think she really is a she, not transitioning, but her body produces an inordinate amount of testosterone. This really is a tough one, because I don´t believe she´s intending to cheat, exactly, but it´s also true that she has a monstrous competitive advantage that should require an asterisk beside every win. A tough ruling, but perhaps the most fair ruling.

Let them stand naked on a stand and let the children decide whether they are male or female. Children are brutally honest.

FWIW: second post
Info from Instapundit. Caster appears to be female and was raised as a girl. And she thought of herself as a girl.
But he/she has XY chromosomes as males do. And high testosterone levels which are normal for males. And internally the female reproductive organs are probably not present.
None of the above makes it any easier to decide if she should compete as a female.

No one really believed it was a woman…
Time to put gender back where it belongs. The one that you were born with. One of only two choices. Stop the insanity.
