President Donald Trump and the top two Democrats in Congress met Tuesday, and said they agreed that efforts to repair and maintain U.S. infrastructure will cost about $2 trillion. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left the White House meeting with an optimistic attitude, saying it had been constructive.“We agreed on a number, which was very, very good,” Schumer said. Schumer and Pelosi said the three hadn’t agreed on how to pay the $2 trillion infrastructure bill, but added they’ll meet again for more discussions in the coming weeks. While Democrats and Republicans have disagreed on

Can anyone point to one thing that was rebuilt or repaired the last time we spent almost a trillion on infrastructure? This is pork barrel politics on steroids.

Democrats love infrastructure project because the "prevaling wage law" requires that the contractors must pay wages based on the average local rates of union shops. Nonunion contractors have almost no shot at the big money projects. So what is it that Republicans like?

PDJT better watch out, we have to raise taxes to pay for it comes next and the trap will be set for Trump like they did to GHWB to make him go back on the "read my lips, no new taxes" line. You know what that got us.

I seem to remember campaign promises made to balance the budget and quit going into debt....
And then the republicans turned into RINOcrats--
NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN voted for NobamaCare and now it is hard to find one who will vote against it--
Creeping socialism--my rear end!

Add it to the national debt. At some point we will see the economy capitulate due to extreme government debt, service on the debt and balooning deficit spending and you know what will hit the fan. Add to this paid family leave, medicae for all and fee college for everyone and boom, we will finally break the camels back.

And how much will Pelousi want for more solar panels and more bird chopping windmills, for dynamiting oil refineries and oil and gas pipelines? You, know ´normal infrastructure projects´.
We do NOT have the money. Just STOP IT.

We already repaired the infrastructure. Hussien did. I use to see signs along the freeway that stated Hussein’s stimulus was paying for the repair of the bridge being worked on.

I think we would better off waiting until the Republicans control the House again. I prefer not dealing with the Democrats on anything, not ever.

Anybody catch the video of Pelosi and Schumer coming to the podium? The body language was interesting with Pelosi trying to guide Chucky by the elbow and he playing- don’t touch me.

Yes sir, #4 and that is another thing that our lazy Republicans have never fought to change. I have no doubt that America needs 2T dollars spent on her literally outdated air traffic control systems, old bridges and miles of poorly patched and poor quality highways. It is just that once local corrupt bidding and graft enters into it, somehow what was promised never gets done.

Infrastructure to the democrats doesn’t mean bridges, roads, water and sewer mains. Nope.
Infrastructure to Nancy and Chuck means high speed rail lines to nowhere, needle exchange programs, homeless housing (in YOUR neighborhood, not their own) and the means to herd us into city high rises.

As long as interest rates stay low, the government can borrow almost with impunity. Let the Fed raise them back to historic levels and we are going to be in a heap of trouble. In September 2007 the fed funds rate was just a shade over 5%; by the end of December 2008 the rate was virtually zero. Where it stayed for almost seven years while Obama doubled the national debt. Why not? Free money.
Today it´s at around two and a half points and headed up. Which has POTUS Trump screeching like a scalded hound. As a developer he loves spending other people´s money. Especially when it´s cheap money. When it goes back up over 5% again, the gravy train is going off the rails. And a repeat of late 70s stagflation and it´s game, set, match for the dear old USA.

Sounds good.
After every inch of the border wall is complete and 20 plus million illegals are resting in their own birth country.
Then bridges and infrastructure can be talked about.

When Schumer and Pelosi are happy, that´s the time to worry.
Smidgen took three trillion out of the treasury in 2009 and printed signs with it but the repair work did not happen. If the serial numbers were recorded the place to look is in Iranian banks.

Libtards have already wasted $1T from their worthless, fund my crony pals, corrupt infrastructure project and had the nerve to keep that same $1T in the budget every year since then. Why spend another $2T which this country doesn´t have? I might agree with the expense if they took away all the freebee money for the leeches and the illegals.
