There´s a push to change laws to permit both criminals serving time and ex-criminals the right to vote. Guess which party is pushing the most for these legal changes. If you guessed that it was the Democrats, go to the head of the class. Bernie Sanders says states should allow felons to vote from behind bars. Elizabeth Warren doesn´t go that far but believes felons should have the right to vote. Democrats want the criminal class to have voting rights restored because they could become a significant part of the Democratic base. These are America´s murderers, rapists, burglars, child molesters and drug dealers. Over two

This is the important question for voters to read and consider before it is to late.

I recall Gov. DeSantis reporting that more were leaning Republican than democrat. I can´t recall if he spoke of felons or immigrants, but iirc, neither are jumping in with the libs.
Why would they ?....they want a fair chance in life and that´s in the dem´s platform.

If a convicted felon has served their sentence, they deserve to vote. The pay taxes like everyone else and should have a say in who represents them.

If they can vote, then why not restore their gun rights?

Or ponder allowing the tens of millions of unborn and late-term children to vote post-humously. There would be no dims ever holding elected office anywhere again.

If felons are permitted by federal law to vote, then the courts will ultimately uphold they cannot be denied any other rights such as owning firearms, employment anywhere without restrictions including murders, child molesters and domestic abusers.
People today are clueless about the consequences of such changes. There were very good reason to keep felons from voting. For starters, it was considered part of your punishment. Second, felons could ultimately gain political power to pass laws to absolve themselves of their crimes or punish their accusers.

For whatever it´s worth and I don´t know how many "me´s" there are but I was not pleased with Trump when I voted for him. Mine was purely a vote against Hillary, the uber-Marxist. Also, since May, 2016, I am a registered independent from a life long Republican, so I no longer have to lick the gutters on my way home from the polls to get my self-respect back.
However, since his election, I´m well pleased with what Trump has done and what he has tried to do in spite of a GOP that does literally NOTHING but help the Marxists destroy him. If I´m still alive in 2020, I WILL gladly vote for him again and walk the 5 1/2 miles of back country road if I have to, to get to the polls. I am proud of him, and thankful he is the president. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE could go through in one hour (especially no Republican and certainly no Marxist) what he has gone through in over two years and come out every single day focused on serving his country and trying to abide by the Constitution. The GOP ought to be ashamed but they too double down on their evil just like the Marxists and the press does every single day.
That´s what I ponder whenever I think of the presidency.

Criminals have already demonstrated that they have poor judgement, why trust them with anything after they are out of prison? History tells us that they come out as better criminals than they were when they were locked up.

If a felon has served his/her time and gone straight for 5 years after release, I believe voting rights should be restored.
The five year wait is to filter out repeat criminals. The reformed should be restored to full rights.

I understand that there is a process by which felons can have their voting rights restored by requesting it from the state.
Most of them don´t care and wouldn´t bother to vote BUT, allowing them to vote carte blanche gets their names on the voter rolls and in poll workers´ car trunks.
Imagine registration as easy as Motor Voter. What would we call it, Felonious Voter?

Two things:
Why are the vast majority of felons Democrats? Were they Democrats and then became felons or the other way around? There is definitely correlation, what is the causality? Odd that Democrats want to bring this up. You would think they would be embarrassed. Without the media to tell them how to think the citizens would have a dim view of this Criminal to Political Party connection.

Second thing:
The recidivism rate is 77%. So the "served their sentence" is in fact meaningless. The release has nothing to do with justice served but how long we are willing to pay to keep them incarcerated. Of the 23% who aren´t back in prison in 5 yeas, how many experienced criminals got away with crimes or Smolletted out of it?
10 years and pass the Citizenship test and I hear you.

Comey´s corrupt Free Pass handed to (paid for by?) Hillary Corleone was the biggest, but far from the only example of outrageous in-your-face voter fraud in 2016. The corrupt abuse of "the media" for (D) political assassination attempts would be a close second. 2018 was full of voting booths utterly corrupted by Democrat dirty tricks. It seems to me the most important thing to ponder today is how to prevent the tsunami of criminal election fraud schemes that beyond any doubt are going to flood and poison the nation in 2020, and that includes the possible plans of desperate Democrats who see the, uh, physical elimination of the GOP candidate as the most expedient way forward...

If felons are permitted to vote, why not restore their right to own firearms? The Second Amendment grants the right to keep and bear arms to the people. No restrictions. They are going to get them illegally. Why not make it legal and get rid of background checks. The dims would love it if Anthony Wiener could run for POTUS.
