For most of my lifetime, “Watergate” has been used as the measuring stick for political corruption. What exactly was the Watergate scandal? On June 17, 1972, five men were arrested for burglarizing the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D. C. It was never alleged that President Richard M. Nixon knew about the burglary prior to the attempt, but that he tried to use the power of the presidency to obstruct justice in order to protect members of his administration and his reelection committee from facing criminal charges. Ultimately, Nixon was forced to
The two paragraphs beginning with "To the surprise..." are the most concise summary I have read.
I have watched Hillary ever since she showed up as the head band wearing governor´s wife when I lived in Arkansas. Her skill is making a scandal too complicated to understand. She loves to use shell companies and layers of people, so that the explanation of her sins exceeds the attention span of the average reader, and the skill set of the average reporter.

FTA - "Somebody will probably start singing to get a reduced sentence pretty soon, and if they can corroborate their testimony with evidence, Obama can stop worrying about his legacy and start worrying about his imminent future. The penalty for sedition calls for up to twenty years in prison, and it is unlikely that President Trump would consider a pardon of Obama under the circumstances, because he was the target of this conspiracy."
Obie, I know you are a Muslim, but, your come to Jesus moment appears to be forthwith.
AG Barr, best you confiscate Obie´s passport, if he has one so he can´t stray back to Kenya.

"Heads need to roll. Maybe even literally."
Exactly. Obama deserves the gallows for a number of crimes committed while he golfed and vacationed or whatever else he did. He was asleep at the switch or deliberately hiding while an Ambassador and good military and CIA people were dying in Benghazi. That alone should hang him.
There isn´t a rope in True Value Hardware that would hold Hillary´s body up on the gallows so the headsman´s axe would be quite appropriate. I don´t care as long as she expires for her many crimes. Several hundred years ago there would have been immediate punishment for her murders and thefts and her TREASON.

Talk about reparations(!) Flynn should be the first in line, and to be compensated by all those scofflaws listed in this article.

Quite frankly, the break in at the Watergate was nothing compared to what has occurred over the last thirty years. Yet it´s taken on a life of it´s own as the worse scandal in the history of the U.S. I can think of at least four or five scandals that have occurred just in the last twenty years that are miles ahead of Watergate as far as illegal activity and a couple that should have resulted not only in removal of a president, but should have lead to jail time and even execution.

What a wonderful world we live in, where obvious collusion within Democrat ranks is completely ignored, while Democrats plow on pretending Republicans did something wrong.

Fabulous article. It’s a must read for every sentient adult in the United States. This is the biggest political scandal since the Founders adopted the Constitution almost exactly 230 years ago. ----- I definitely see charges of Sedition, and I pray that the knuckleheads who thought that they had the elitist chops to conduct a palace coup, did not actually commit Treason by intentionally conspiring with foreign agents, but let the chips fall where they may. Like Watergate defendants, significant jail sentences will be merited for those convicted of this travesty. ------- Turns out the Mueller investigation was the biggest, most fraudulent, most cynical political head fake in American history. I hope after reading this article, folks understand how close we actually came to effectively ending our beloved Republic. ------ It was a miracle of biblical proportions that Trump won in enough places to secure the electoral college. Had he lost, we’d have three new appointees on the most liberal SCT ever, and we’d be watching our liberties and livelihoods swirl down the socialist drain. God Bless America!!

The 1972 "Watergate" scandal was a one time burglary of the DNC campaign offices at the Watergate complex to see the Democrat´s plans for winning the election. All of the participants of the burglary were sentenced to prison.
"Watergate" was minor compared to the nearly three year spying effort and smear campaign by high level Obama administration officials at DOJ, FBI, and Intelligence to prevent Trump from being elected and to overthrow him after he was elected. For this, the participants need to be sent to prison for a long, long, long time.

FTA:
While working for the Democratic National Committee and campaign of Hillary Clinton, Marc Elias (from the law firm Perkins-Coie) hired Fusion GPS to create opposition research now commonly known as the “Steele dossier,” a collection of memos full of salacious unsubstantiated rumors and ridiculous claims that only a gullible maverick like Senator John McCain would believe. Fortunately for the conspirators, McCain passed the dossier over to James Comey at the FBI, giving the Obama administration an excuse to open a counterintelligence investigation into Trump even though they knew the “information” originated from the Clinton campaign and was unverified.
Excellent article, I hope it´s sent to every member of Congress so they can´t ignore any longer.
Hopefully, AG Barr is principled enough and his team is too, and not worried about the reputations of those involved, but the damage it´s done to the country more. And, he can build the trust of the FBI and DOJ at the same time.
Remember too, Rosenstein stated the other day that the criticism of Barr´s handling of the Mueller report is "bizarre", or in other words, the Democrats are lying to protect individuals instead of the country.

Chances are very good that president Trump has known about this Obama-led Deep State attack on the rule of law since before his inauguration, and that he has had, and is even now enacting, a most clever plan to survive the attack and - when the timing is right - apprehend the attackers, however idolised they may be among the (D) mob. Providence willing, we may be about to witness the greatest all-time exposé of who the Democrats (and their Enemies of the People media sleeper cells) really are.

Gullible maverick? How about transparently childish, angry, dishonest, vengeful and stupid?

I seriously doubt Obama will become as despised as Nixon in spite of how corrupt he is. The big question now is who will become the next John Dean?

FTA: “In 1972, Republicans were caught using former CIA operatives to spy on their political rivals. In 2016, Democrats have now been caught using active FBI and senior Department of Justice employees to spy on President Trump.”
This is Watergate, The Sequel. Everyone seems to forget that we now know that Deep Throat was an assistant director at the FBI, an openly partisan Democrat and, more than likely, a dedicated “progressive” socialist. A high-level FBI official, supposedly acting alone, leaked damaging information against a sitting president to the stenographer team at the WaPoo. Obviously, the Uniparty globalists did not like the American people’s choice. Unfortunately, Nixon was an easy target for vilification. Reagan, not so much and then the Uniparty gained control of the presidency and everything was hunky-dory with Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama…until Donald Trump rode down an escalator one day and beat the pants off the Hildebeast.
The Deep State dusted off the old Watergate playbook. The actions that the Obama administration took against President Trump were not unprecedented, just not used in forty years. In their hubris they failed to update the plan because they saw no difference between their victims; Trump was the new Nixon. Easy-peasy. It makes me smile to think of Richard Nixon rooting Trump on from Heaven, “Get the bastids!”

Watergate was a joke, and there was no evidence that Nixon even knew about the break-in. It was a John Dean operation all the way.

The fact that everything they have had on Hillary from the Clinton Presidency up to the time she ran for President and they have been unable to pin it on her should tell you one thing. These people will skate.
