A Florida teenager´s goal to do well on the SAT ended up paying off -- and then some -- when he discovered he´d earned a perfect score of 1,600 on the test. Jacob Harrison, a junior at Largo High School in Largo, Fla., had set a goal to score 1,550 when he first took the SAT back in December. When he checked back in to find out his score, however, the 17-year-old said he got quite a surprise. "I was shocked, I showed my friend because I was walking to school," he told FOX13 on Tuesday. "We both kind of freaked out

As a white male, he will still have difficulty getting into a top school. He might need to think about claiming Native American status. He could also become a cross-dresser, that would really help.

1600? Um, the SAT has been 2400 for several years now. Is this a 20 year old article?

A blond white boy with a perfect SAT score? That’s nice. He’ll get shoved aside by his college of choice to make room for a semi-literate, 6’10” rebound phenom who is just getting his life turned around. Whitey will have to be satisfied with starting an online retail company or revolutionizing an industry without benefit of college networking.

The phenom will be a campus big-shot until he blows out an ankle and gets benched.

The SAT was revised a couple of years ago. 1600 is again the perfect score.
Since it has some multiple-choice questions there will be times when 1600 is achieved even when a few answers were simply ´guessed´ correctly. But that would be very rare and doesn´t imply anything about Jacob´s 1600. He is to be congratulated.

Exactly #2 and #1. The third section of the SAT is somewhat subjective. One of my kids had a perfect 1600 as well and a 2330 overall. Waitlisted at Yale, turned down flat at Stanford. But I know a lot of mediocre athletes with not nearly her academic credentials who are now at Stanford and Yale.

Well, his Aryian genes are going to be a severe handicap in this racist era. But, congrats. I am sure his parents are very proud.

Teens who earn a perfect score on the SATs number in the hundreds each year. Not taking away from this young man at all, but the students with perfect scores come in all colors and hairdos. DuckDuckGo works really well!

In the Asian American community, "Toll free" candidates (perfect 800/800 scores in verbal and quantitative) are not uncommon. It is a case of ´Not failure but low aim is crime´.

I did not know that there were elite colleges and other colleges. I just took the test and applied at the nearby university. I took the courses, figured out it was nothing but an addition problem of acquiring credits (units) and then graduated. It seems to me that those expensive schools are a waste of good money. They all produce a piece of paper that says one is "worthy".

Good for him, smart kid.
And check out the hairdo. I got a chuckle over that.
