Two recent incidents evince a growing trend to try to ban any view on gender or sexuality from public life that is to the right of the American Civil Liberties Union. The Federalist Society at Yale Law School recently incurred the wrath of students because it invited Kristen Waggoner to speak. Waggoner is a renowned attorney at a public-interest law firm who was part of a successful Supreme Court case. Why would a speaking invitation to a successful female attorney trigger the Yale lefties?

An elephant trampled a suspected rhino poacher to death and his remains were devoured by a lion, according to the South African National Parks. A Texas state trooper was reportedly in grave condition early Sunday after being shot while approaching a driver who had fled from a crash scene not far from the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities said. The trooper was shot multiple times and rushed to an Edinburg hospital, where he was undergoing surgery and “fighting for his life,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra wrote on Twitter. Edinburg is about 64 miles northwest of Brownsville in the state´s border region.
