HOLBROOK - A Lake Ronkomkoma mother claims her daughter was not allowed to have President Donald Trump as her hero for a class assignment. When sixth-graders at Samoset Middle School were assigned to pick a hero on whom they would write a report, 11-year-old Bella Moscato said her choice was a no-brainer. "Donald Trump is my hero," she says. The 45th U.S. president has been Bella´s idol since she was 8 years old, which is why she dressed up as Trump for a third-grade class project. But Bella says when she told her sixth-grade teacher that

Lady, get your kid out of the government school. Do your best to home school her if you cannot afford a private school. All that she is going to be taught in the public school is sex ed. and how to hate a republican president. Has she learned cursive writing yet? I doubt it.

Absolutely wrong #1. Abandoning the ´government´ educational system is why incompetent teachers like the one in the story get their jobs and are protected in their jobs. This kid is not only a hero, she learned a valuable lesson. Judging from her response and her parents response, she will only get tougher moving forward. That stupid teacher and that mealy mouthed superintendent messed with the wrong family. IF every family showed as much common sense and grit as these people, there would be no need for stories like this.

This attitude of it´s over, run away, hide, protect yourself only enables the evil left. It´s why rat politicians win elections with 30% voter turnout. The astounding victory of President Trump better be the turning point and a call to arms for normal, traditional, Americans to rise up and get involved. This family will prevail in the face of cowards and bullies and if that community, all communities, don´t push back they will be subjected to an endless stream of leftist insanity.

The last thing the USA needs is patriotic Americans dropping out. The need to not just man the barricades but to go up and over and push this nonsense right back into their stupid, smug, faces. Some might view this as a loss, but that mushmouthed superintendent won´t forget it and that slob of a teacher will think long and hard before the jerk shoots off their mouth again. All because a little girl had enough of their filth.

I was a jr. college freshman in 1975; the Jesus Movement in SoCal was still hot and although I forget the class I remember the assignment -- write a paper about an influential person in your life. One of those dumbbell essays; I think I chose Jacques Cousteau. Doesn´t matter.

The instructor specifically warned us to not write of Jesus Christ because she was tired of reading about Him.

Plenty of students did anyway. Jesus was wildly popular in Southern California in 1975.

Hard to imagine that was less than 45 years ago. You should see us now.

Agree with #3. It´s OUR money funding these wanna-be commie indoctrination centers-there should be marches on these schools whenever someone entrusted with the education of our children decides to substitute their own morality and judgement. Who was this teacher? Show us a picture. Use the Left´s tools on them and dox these wannabe commissars.

The teacher is LYING to cover her butt.

There is only one way to proceed, hire a lawyer immediately and start legal actions. Demand interviews of witnesses and make it clear that anyone covering up will be considered as guilty as the teacher that originally challenged the student.

‘That’s Just Insane’: Australia’s Secret Deal to Take In Rwandan Guerrillas 6 replies

For more than a decade, the United States had a problem: three Rwandan men, sitting in jail in Virginia, who had stood accused of brutally murdering tourists in Africa—but now had a chance of winning release onto American streets. The three had been rounded up after a bloody 1999 attack that made headlines across three continents, in which two Americans and six other Western tourists on a gorilla-watching visit to the Ugandan rainforest were killed with machetes and axes. The crime was so horrific that U.S. prosecutors charged the men under terrorism statutes, extracted them from Rwanda and then took

The FBI has uncovered a homegrown, jihadist compound in the small Alabama town of Macon County. The FBI‘s search warrant described the property as a “makeshift military-style obstacle course” in a story first reported by Sinclair Broadcast Group. The land where the group gathered reportedly looked like an “abandoned dump,” and was led by Siraj Wahhaj, who allegedly trained children to commit school shootings in a similar terrorist breeding ground in New Mexico last year.

Assembly Bill 186, which passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would bring Nevada into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement between participating states to cast their electoral votes for the winner of the popular vote. If signed as expected by Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak, Nevada would become the 16th jurisdiction to join the compact, along with 14 states and the District of Columbia.

While 51% of U.S. adults say socialism would be a bad thing for the country, 43% believe it would be a good thing. Those results contrast with a 1942 Roper/Fortune survey that found 40% describing socialism as a bad thing, 25% a good thing and 34% not having an opinion. The Roper/Fortune survey is one of the oldest trend questions measuring attitudes on socialism in the U.S. Gallup's update of the question in an April 17-30 survey finds

Jerry Nadler was at it again Tuesday, waxing indignant about former White House counsel Don McGahn’s refusal to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. It’s all a show, meant to keep old news in the headlines, and to appease the large “Impeach Now!” wing of the Democratic Party without actually doing anything. Everyone on Judiciary knows perfectly well that Congress can’t compel testimony from top presidential advisers except in the most extraordinary circumstances: The chief executive’s right to frank, confidential discussions with his staff is well-established. So Nadler’s bluster about how he’ll “go to court to secure” McGahn’s appearance is just noise for the cameras. Then again, that’s all

There's a recurring theme in American science fiction where the country loses its way, endures some horrible but cleansing disaster, and then rediscovers the blessings of liberty. You'll find it in Robert Heinlein's "Future History" stories, where the Crazy Years -- a period of rapid technological advances, decaying social norms, and mass psychosis -- leads to the backlash of a religious dictatorship. The Prophets regime is eventually toppled by a liberty-loving group dedicated to individual rights. The theme is even more pronounced in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, where a socialist regime puts the country into another Great Depression, only worse. The country's capitalists
