The day may be coming when California public employees are permitted to travel on business only to blue states. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra on Tuesday added South Carolina to the growing list of states banned from state-sponsored travel, citing the Palmetto State’s 2018 budget bill allowing faith-based adoption and foster-care services to operate according to their religious beliefs. “The State of South Carolina recently enacted a measure that sanctions discrimination against families in the placement of children in need of homes,” said Mr. Becerra in a statement. “The State of California stands strongly against any form of discrimination.” He cited California Assembly

How about those 10 states announce that in the event of wildfires, mud slides or earthquakes, they wont be sending first responders.
On a personal note, I won´t travel to CA and refrain from purchasing CA products until they come to their senses.

“The State of California stands strongly against any form of discrimination.” unless of course it´s California that is doing the discrimination then it´s ok!, as California discriminates against another lucky state.

South Carolina residents still have most of the Christian standards and values that made America great. Good for them and sorry for Californicated which has the least or none. What a contrast!

We´ve met more than a few people from CA who have moved to our area of SC. They have brought their politics with them.
So they move here for jobs, lower taxes, and then attempt to change the state from red to blue.

You can stop spewing your crap about tolerance and one nation bulljive. The left has no intention of living in harmony with any who dare not comply with their beliefs.
Our fault in the founding of this nation was to be so tolerant that we inadvertently opened the door to intolerance of our very own most cherished beliefs.

A completely meaningless show of high-handed virtue signaling--the stuff California politicians specialize in. Sorry for the good people who live in CA!

A Californian here, sorry. I´m not going to do an apology tour.
This state has gone to the dogs. There are few of us still standing strong in SoCal. Family and home investment until retirement make it a challenge to move right now.
That all being said, this means what? Governmental officials and illegals funded by taxpayers can´t travel to SC? I don´t think the majority of people living here will be affected by this. If you count Hollyweird because of their "boycott nature", you might add a few nuts who won´t visit.
Sounds like a majority of you out there are sane and don´t want the nut jobs out here to plant themselves in your beautiful states. As for us, when we go, we´ll be taking conservatism to a blue state--more family. We try to anti-pollute wherever we go.
MAGA!!! KAG!!! California was a beautiful state--some of the people still are.

Perhaps there should be a response in kind, for Ca hosting sanctuary cities and failing to prosecute or deport those illegals that murder Americans in their state. That´s definitely the most screwed up state in the United States.

Would this not come under the interstate commerce clause?

Despair not, #22, when you sell your California home you can buy three homes of the same quality in many other states. Your retirement income will go a long way after dumping those ten percent local taxes.
Please do not tell your friends and neighbors that little secret unless they are sane.
While in San Diego a while back I saw a real estate ad for a small cottage with a half-million dollar price tag and it was located on a "HUGE QUARTER ACRE LOT." That´s the size of the vegetable garden in most flyover states.

Well, this is just state funded travel, so presumably we´re talking about public university professors and state officials.
So if you´re holding an academic conference and you don´t want the idiots from California to come then hold it in South Carolina.

California thought police in action. This is just another step in criminalizing any thought that does not conform to Progressive theology.
When anybody can adopt a child, it allows the possibility for that child to be exploited. Look up "orphan trains." Faith-based adoption and foster-care services try to prevent child exploitation.

I thought Cuba-fornia was going to leave the union and be it´s own Socialist Utopia!!!
In a few months, Mexico will be happy to pick up the pieces of the 3rd world cesspool Cuba-fornia will become!!! With open borders, and non-citizens voting in all their elections (since they have sworn they love those things), it would be the newest state of Mexico totally legally!!!!!

Current and permanent Proud S.C. resident here. The USMC finally let me leave Ca, and resettle w/ Mrs. LNuts to this great state. I take being on their stupid list as a red badge of courage. We do not want/like their types so we are glad they won´t be coming here to the right coast. Now if we can just figure out how to stop the tards in Washington DC from sending our hard earned taxes to that brokeback state, that would be even better. MAGA!!

I´m a Cali native. Yea, many of the lefties here are homegrown, most are not. Thanks for nuthin´ for all the lefties you´ve sent here. Agree with posters that this travel-ban is virtue signaling, that´s what lefties do. It´s all about them thinking highly of themselves which enables them to act insufferably smug. That´s what secularists do. They´re holier than us, you see.

An the interests, welfare and well being of the child now, and in the future be damned!
How dare these people confuse rational and intellectual prudential judgement based on the millennia of human experience and the facts of science with discrimination. Mankind spends every moment of its life making such prudential judgements for both individual family and community welfare.
