Ocasio-Cortez erupts in unhinged rant after criticism of her Green New Deal

Life in the public spotlight is uncomfortable for anyone, all the more so for the young and immature who are subject to relentless criticism by ideological opponents. Add in absolute moral certainty and a limited command of facts and ideas, and the result is lashing out in fury with arguments that hold no water. Yesterday, during a committee meeting of House Financial Services Committee, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s utopian and impossibly expensive Green New deal was criticized by Sean Duffy (R-WI) and herself was not pleased. She responded with an arm-flailing angry response that proved she has no idea

She works the crazed hand gesticulations just like Beta; shallow millennials read this as passion. Funny also how the accomplished Evita Ocasio-Cortez complains about having no health insurance as a taco waitress in NYC, and about kids having asthma in the South Bronx, and about the poor water supply in Flint; all 100% Democrat strongholds! Does she campaign against ethanol to fight asthma? Of course not, too much of a dope.

I watched part of the video of her foolish mess.

Reagan got it right, long ago. "...so much of what they know, just isn´t so."

She refers to the lead level in children in Flint. I have never seen ANY reliable reports of any children actually found with elevated blood lead levels. That whole episode was Fake News, nobody actually got sick, no high lead was reported in any person, only the possibility that it could happen because the water pH had been changed. It was a fantasy, and yet she screams "People are dying!" again and again, which is a lie - well other than in the abortion clinics which she loves.

She is so thoroughly propagandized, pumped full of lies, "the narrative" and Fake News "facts".

She wasn´t qualified to be the waitress, and she is WAY over her head.

And the arm waving is really loony.

This is exactly the voter that dems have been cultivating for decades. Emotionally over the top, angry, big attitude, clueless, dedicated to their causes. This appealed to maybe half of dem voters and was useful when dems needed media shots of riled up "citizens". The problem is that it appealed to no Republicans, few independants, and not even all dems. So the trick was to USE them but keep them regulated.

During his presidency, BO did what he was known for, community organizing, otherwise known as rabble rousing. He riled them up but didn´t worry if they got out of control. Like so many other gifts he left the dem party, this one was destructive as well. They have ranting, distracting nuts leading the party in directions that will not pay off and may fatally cripple the party.

The dems are reaping what they sowed. They deserve a bitter harvest.

Flint Michigan? Flint? Through a perfect storm of ignorance and hubris, the Republicans who were overseeing the finances and the Democrats who ran the water system defied the objections and dire predictions of a USEPA water engineer and introduced caustic river water into their water supply and destroyed their entire water system. That isn´t an environmental issue. It is something else.

Part of being a professor is a self analysis of gestures, believe it or not!! I had to consider whether student critiques were valid - that I scared the students sitting closest to the front, with my gestures. (I was the size of Alex Karras, pro football hall of famer, and resembled him, sometimes in airports was mistaken for him.)
So I stopped being so physically intimidating, and changed my gestures.
Senorita Big Teeth might consider doing the same. (I realize those gestures are part of her sub-culture, but...)

Few things offend Bernie Sanders as much as people escaping from command-and-control government systems, even minority students whose parents are desperate to get their kids a decent education. The socialist wants to turn George Wallace on his head and not block black children from attending traditional public schools but block them from exiting them for something better. The New York Times the other day wrote a long, devastating report on the then-Burlington, Vt., mayor’s love affair with the Sandinistas in the 1980s. So many decades later, his reflex is the same: If the Sandinistas wouldn’t favor it, he’s not inclined to like it much, either.

A brazen thief stole chemotherapy medication from an Oklahoma City man’s doorstep just minutes after it was delivered, delaying his treatment for brain cancer. James Mills, 43, said his planned round of chemotherapy on Monday would not happen after a hooded suspect swiped the potentially life-saving delivery from his porch on Saturday. “I checked the door and didn’t see the package,” Mills told KFOR. “I double checked and they said it had been delivered. I check the security cameras, and I saw the UPS driver deliver it, then about eight minutes later another individual comes up, grabs it and takes off.”

Spurned Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland — whose chance at a spot on the high court was derailed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — may have a key say on whether President Trump’s financial records are released to the House. Trump’s lawyers on Tuesday appealed a lower court’s decision ordering that the records be released to the House Oversight Committee to the Washington, DC, Circuit Court of Appeals — which Garland heads as chief judge. President Barack Obama nominated Garland to replace Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016 after Scalia’s death. But McConnell refused to even schedule a meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee to consider Garland’s nomination,

Rep. Assembly Bill 186, which passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would bring Nevada into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement between participating states to cast their electoral votes for the winner of the popular vote. Jerry Nadler was at it again Tuesday, waxing indignant about former White House counsel Don McGahn’s refusal to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. It’s all a show, meant to keep old news in the headlines, and to appease the large “Impeach Now!” wing of the Democratic Party without actually doing anything. Everyone on Judiciary knows perfectly well that Congress can’t compel testimony from top presidential advisers except in the most extraordinary circumstances: The chief executive’s right to frank, confidential discussions with his staff is well-established. So Nadler’s bluster about how he’ll “go to court to secure” McGahn’s appearance is just noise for the cameras. Then again, that’s all

There's a recurring theme in American science fiction where the country loses its way, endures some horrible but cleansing disaster, and then rediscovers the blessings of liberty. You'll find it in Robert Heinlein's "Future History" stories, where the Crazy Years -- a period of rapid technological advances, decaying social norms, and mass psychosis -- leads to the backlash of a religious dictatorship. The Prophets regime is eventually toppled by a liberty-loving group dedicated to individual rights. The theme is even more pronounced in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, where a socialist regime puts the country into another Great Depression, only worse. The country's capitalists
