A group of black seminarians is seeking amends for the Princeton Theological Seminary’s founders’ and early faculty’s ties to slavery. The Association of Black Seminarians posted a petition online earlier this month as a response to a report that detailed the seminary’s history with slavery, which was released last year. So far, the group has collected more than 400 signatures on the petition, which asks for $5.3 million annually to fund tuition grants for black students and establish a Black Church Studies program.(Snip) “Princeton Theological Seminary is uniquely positioned to lead the theological academy in addressing historic, structural, educational

They are studying to become "false prophets." May I suggest to them to read the Bible from beginning to end.

How about suing Princeton for the racist eugenics theories of its former president - - Woody Wilson?
Toss in his racist buddy - - Margaret Sanger - - and her black baby murdering organization - - and you´ve got yourself a real case.

Since 72% of African-Americans are now born out of wedlock, it is difficult to trace individual Blacks back to American slavery. (Also, in 1960, that figure was 20%, so single motherhood today certainly did not result from the Civil War.) The Brookings Institute says there are three things to do to avoid poverty in the US: graduate from high school, get a job, don´t have children until you marry. 23% of all black families today live below the poverty level, but only 8% of married black families are poor. How can we equitably address reparations? The current clown car of democrat candidates has the simplest answer: buy their votes.

This has about as much chance of success as asking the students to pay for their ancestor´s boat ticket over here! That debt is still outstanding and very delinquent!

The Dimokkkrap Party should be liquidated and the proceeds put into a reparations fund for its role of promoting slavery, starting the Civil War to perpetuate it, and creating so called Southern Racism to protect their power structure.
Until that happens nothing else should be discussed.

They´re learning younger. My daughter subbed at a public school last week. When she questioned why a 5th grade girl had to visit the restroom during class for the 5th time during classtime, the youth called her a racist!

They can ask for anything they want.
And Princeton can say "no".
Now, that wasn´t hard...
I am all for any living former slave going after their former slave owner for reparations. But since they all died back by the middle 1900´s, that is a big non-issue!!!!

Let´s put the shoe on the other foot. I want the black people who have murdered white people, white policemen, white firemen. While slavery happened in far different times, it was wrong. Murder has never been right.

Pure bullsh**. Fact is, slavery only existed because blacks caught and sold their OWN people into slavery. Slaves left Africa for one reason, they were sold, sold against their will, by their own people. Slavery existed in Africa long before the traders showed up. They want reparations, go back to the country that sold you. Hundreds of thousand of non blacks died on the battlefield to free slaves and now they want reparations. We should get reparations for saving them. Got it.

I´m guessing that not one of them ever experienced slavery. Therefore not one of them is entitled to a penny.

The fact that they even got in to Princeton´s divinity school suggests that reparations of a sort are already in place.

The Princeton Theological Seminary is independent of Princeton University, although Wiki claims the Seminary´s endowment approaches $1 billion. I had no idea there was such an organization as The Association of Black Seminarians. Do they ascribe to some unique form of dogma?

Every black that asks for reparations should be required to study the history of Arlington National Cemetery´s beginning. Then forced to take a walk around the older sections of that cemetery. Buried there are the WHITE union soldiers who died fighting to unite the country and to end slavery. There´s your reparations.

You all got 4 generations of ´reparations´ already. It was called the "Great Society," and cost the American economy/tax-base, several trillion dollars and produced NOTHING. In the meantime, immigrants have come here from dozens of countries, not Africa, and have thrived and built businesses from NOTHING. And here we have the poor, lowly American slave spawn, still proving everyday why they were so easy to capture, subjugate, and sell to British ship Captains as return journey spoils.
Go pound sand, punks.

They received privilege at our ancestors´ expense - give us a share of that privilege to make things right! (Scratching my head over that, which seems contrary to the way Christians are called to respond to being wronged, ESPECIALLY the way seminarians are supposed to respond.
The whole reparations call discredits its own rationale.

The Marxists who run the place should comply gladly, as a first step toward full redress for these former slaves. Yale University, named for a slave trader, should follow suit, as should Harvard, Brown, and the rest.
