Quoted in a sprawling, 3,600 word hagiography in Time magazine, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who is nothing if not a person who acts entitled all the time, whined that she has never seen American prosperity “in my adult life.” (Video) One can assume that Ocasio-Cortez, who champions policies that reward those who eschew responsibility, may have become an adult when she hit 18, since she favors giving the right to vote to voters at the age of 16, but to be generous, let’s assume that she was 18 when she became an adult. She is now almost 30, so the

Right now , BU is about $ 27,000 a semester. She´s $ 25,000 in debt. After 4 years of school. A few questions, has she paid off any of her debt? Where did the money for that come from? Did she earn it by working? That´s called prosperity. Yet, she says she has never seen prosperity? As a member of congress is she non salaried and working for free? If not , she´s making money and that´s prosperity. Her handlers have to do a better job of prepping her.

Author of article in Time is Charlotte Alter, daughter of Jonathon Alter, who tweeted this brilliance:

“AOC and I were born the same year. She was a Dunkaroos kid—I liked fruit roll-ups. People our age have never experienced American prosperity in our adult lives— which is why so many millennials are embracing Democratic socialism,” Alter tweeted.

She went to Harvard, Mother was a producer of the Colbert show and uncle was an executive at Sony. Just your average upbringing, I guess.

Doesn´t she, like, ya know, watch TV, or read books or newspapers or anything?

Doesn´t she like, ya know , know about the Kardashian girls who have made a billion dollars based on nothing but large posteriors, lots of makeup and revealing outfits?

Doesn´t she, like, ya know, know about Jeff Bezos who made himself (at least temporarily) the world´s richest man based on one good idea?

Doesn´t she, like, ya know, know about herself, a highly but poorly educated barmaid who had to steal tips from her co-workers to get by a year ago, who is suddenly being paid a six figure salary, dressing in multi-thousand dollar outfits and riding in limousines?

I suppose when one´s whole ´adult´ world was limited to being around Bronx barflies and disaffected socialist youth, one might be blind to how powerful and widespread is the American Economy and the prosperity it can bring to people if they work at it a bit.

Well, according to the latest science, the brain doesn´t reach maturity until one is in their thirties. So your not an adult yet according to research. Plus you´ve spent your time so far avoiding being an adult from what I´ve heard and seen. Now of course, because of idiots like yourself, you´ve become a Congress critter. This is where you´ll become rich and prosperous thanks to the American taxpayer.

Look in the mirror, Bimbette.

That face staring back at you is the ENTIRE REASON you have what you have.

Being a lazy, stupid, uneducated/miseducated puke is the reason.

Go out and work hard, and effectively in almost any field and you WILL succeed. But whining and being a tip-stealing barmaid is not the road to prosperity. Apparently you weren´t good enough to make a managerial position even at the bar. Stealing tips and whining is not a great way to succeed. And your "education" has filled your head with foolish, counter-factual nonsense, which makes it nearly impossible for you to succeed until you unlearn all the BS. I doubt that will ever happen.

I earned two engineering degrees and I bought my first new car at age 36. But, my house was paid for in 15 yrs, and I paid off that car in 2 yrs, two subsequent ones in 1 yr, and all since, including a 2 yr old Porsche, in cash, but then I was much older than this whiner.

If A(|)C had maybe gotten her degree at BU in some major potential employers value, instead of econ, perhaps she would have tasted a little prosperity post graduation. Of course had she majored in computer science or some other STEM curricula, she would probably have been passed over for some low wage H-1B visa holder from Bangladesh. I wonder how democratic socialism is going to address that conundrum.

Less than a day after accepting a lucrative contract to lobby congress against Russia sanctions, a former John Kasich adviser has announced he is now backtracking and will reject the agreement. John Weaver has worked on many failed presidential campaigns — John McCain’s, John Huntsman’s, and Kasich’s — and on Wednesday accepted a contract worth $350,000 to lobby against sanctions on Russia. Weaver and his former boss Kasich had previously accused President Donald Trump’s campaign of colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 election. Weaver had also previously mocked the Trump administration for being weak on Russia sanctions. Thursday afternoon,

Speaking in the Rose Garden, President Donald Trump unveiled immigration reform proposals aimed at increasing the quota for skilled workers. During his remarks, the president assailed some asylum seekers’ abuses of the country’s immigration system. “Our nation has a proud history of affording protection to those fleeing government persecutions. Unfortunately, legitimate asylum seekers are being displaced by those lodging frivolous claims,” he said. Acosta promptly accused the president of portraying

The scoring system was established by the national College Board, the nonprofit which administers the test, according to The Wall Street Journal. The new system will use 15 different factors to weigh a student´s adversity score, based on things such as the crime and poverty rates in the neighborhood where the teens grew up. Chinese holdings of U.S. Treasury securities hit a 22-month low in March, according to data released today by the U.S. Treasury. As of February, entities in the People’s Republic of China had owned $1,130,900,000,000 in U.S. Treasury securities. But in March that dropped to $1,120,500,000,000—a decline of $10,400,000,000. It’s all a show, meant to keep old news in the headlines, and to appease the large “Impeach Now!” wing of the Democratic Party without actually doing anything. Everyone on Judiciary knows perfectly well that Congress can’t compel testimony from top presidential advisers except in the most extraordinary circumstances: The chief executive’s right to frank, confidential discussions with his staff is well-established. There's a recurring theme in American science fiction where the country loses its way, endures some horrible but cleansing disaster, and then rediscovers the blessings of liberty. You'll find it in Robert Heinlein's "Future History" stories, where the Crazy Years -- a period of rapid technological advances, decaying social norms, and mass psychosis -- leads to the backlash of a religious dictatorship. The Prophets regime is eventually toppled by a liberty-loving group dedicated to individual rights. The theme is even more pronounced in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, where a socialist regime puts the country into another Great Depression, only worse. The country's capitalists
