I’ve Seen Civil War Destroy the Democrats Before. We Can’t Let it Happen Again.

I´ve lived through a Democratic Civil War before. In fact, I’ve been in the middle of two of them. The first was in 1968, when I was the research director for Vice President Hubert Humphrey’s presidential campaign. The second was in 1980, when I was Jimmy Carter’s policy director. Both times, I watched pressure from the party’s liberal wing tear the party apart and bring down a Democratic presidential candidate. Both times, the Republicans took the White House. Both times, liberal dreams were shattered.

Who is "we"? The Democrat Party needs to be destroyed once and for all. What can I do to help? In what small way can I contribute? It is my belief that it can´t happen as long as the GOP is around to protect them. I think the GOP has to be destroyed first, then the Democrats. eliminate the weaker of the two monsters first.

Oh, no, please....go ahead and destroy yourselves. You people do not have anything to offer this country except misery.
Also, I find your fawning over that old idiot Carter offensive. Everything you list as if it were a positive, is, in fact, a negative....incremental steps towards a totalitarian state.

I read a good chuck of this article and the guy seems mostly to brag about liberal accomplishments and offer laments regarding Democrat failures.
Two recurring themes are that solutions always have to flow from government and if Democrats would just appear more moderate, then they could get elected, and then institute the more leftist schemes once in office. He makes clear that´s what Carter did, and if Ted Kennedy hadn´t campaigned to the left of him and failed to embrace him once he garnered the re-nomination, then combined they could have won against Reagan in 1980, and then gone left enough to create utopia on earth.
Why does it never seem to occur to these crazies that perhaps the very reason they lose is that the electorate sees through their posturing and (s)elects not to put them into office?
I am astounded. Read between the lines and the guy admits that AOC and the others should campaign as moderates and govern as Leftists. Brazen elitist thinking, that is.
As Sen. Lindsay Graham recently said, "Y´all want power and I hope you never get it."

How can Stu be so sure Humphrey would have ended the Viet Nam war? Humphrey received the nomination without winning one primary vote, and seemed not to be bothered by that fact.
And in spite of his manic personality, he was not a happy warrior.
Carter was even worse. He set national speed limits that were absurd, including 45 mph for trucks, which may have used up more fuel than
higher speed limits. His 80 degree decree on A/C was also silly, as was his lower thermostat plus sweater.
He presided over the Civil Service Reform Act with created statutory collective bargaining rights for federal employees, with extremely broad civil service protection rights being abused today, even by employees who spend their time at work watching internet porn.
Carter tried his best, but the little man couldn´t handle the job.
It was a depressing time in the United States - bad government, bad haircuts, bad clothing fashion, bad music, bad cars that fell apart not long after leaving the dealership.
Ans Stu was a part of all that.

What a schlemiel! I can´t imagine anyone wanting to take credit for helping manage Carter´s disastrous Presidency.
If he´s that stupid....

What an unhappy whine, exactly what the dems would bring to all of us if they are elected. The article tries to differentiate between the stark raving mad that the most influential dems are seeking now and the merely crazy that the tired old dems are selling as they try to pull together the shattered party that BO left behind. The primary difference seems to be that Stu thinks the party could survive "crazy" but not "stark raving mad". To me it seems like the difference between a parasite that merely weakens its host versus a parasite that kills its host.
As I read the list of their "accomplishments" I see a long string of damage done to the Country by the dems. Since the dems set it up, what good has the Department of Education done? It has presided over falling student grades and exploding school costs.
The author trumpets Carter´s sponsorship of a BOCare type bill. WOW, we could have had failed, overly expensive health care decades earlier. Luckily the moderate dems, who love to recycle moldy old ideas, got another bite at the apple and gave us BOCare.
The whole article is a list proving that just because an idea is a compromise, i.e. moderate, that it is a good idea. Dem ideas are fundamentally bad, whether they are Socialist or moderately Socialist.
The energy and focus in the dem party is currently on Socialism. That ideology is what is defining them. However, it has also been a long time core component of the party. The "moderates´ just know they have to be sneaky about implementing it.

The Democrat party is Satan´s own. It openly supports murdering babies and "assisted suicide" AKA murder. I promotes every perversion and denigrates normality.
I hope they rip each other to shreds.

Naw I beg to differ with the esteemed Author.A bunch of us out here can hardly wait to get this next one started . So we can finish the job right this time. If we are as successful as we should be . There will not be another Democrat/ Communist that is not taking a long dirt nap. Along with some of their Republican but smoocher´s.

We should lock Stuart up with that guy who made the movie that caused the Benghazi mess. We don´t need anyone tippng off the left regarding what awaits them in 2020.
That´s what the democrats would do if the tables were turned.

Too late, Stuart, they are doing what they do best. Better that they die by civil war than having to face an armed populace.

FTA: Carter showed what moderates can accomplish. But, throughout his four years in office, Carter never got full credit for this record.
Hahahahahahahahahahah.

The great thing is, the left has gone so radical bonkers, none of the half sane ones left can control them. The AOC crowd will never listen to this old, white, Jewish dinosaur. He is everything they hate right now. He should be standing up against the hate for Jews in his party rather than writing this article.

I remember reading about an earlier Civil War started by the demosluts and ended by the Republicans. The demosluts responded by creating the KKK.

I am always standing by, willing to offer a couple of gallons of gas and a match, or a baseball bat if they need some assistance in destroying each other.
Always willing to help.

Carter had one significant achievement. He held the record of "worst president ever" for a full 28 years.
