Former President Barack Obama recently gave America another reminder of how his presidency—once expected to bring the country together—left us more divided on race.
Obama compared America under President Donald Trump to the tumultuous period after the Civil War that gave birth to the Ku Klux Klan. He said the U.S. is “having the same arguments” we did in the 1860s and 1870s, when Union troops occupied the former Confederacy and attempted to secure real freedom for former slaves.
“These issues are still here,” Obama told author Malcolm Gladwell in an interview for the podcast “Reconstruction: The Unfinished Promise.”

Alan Ritchson, the far-left Reacher star who used the promotion tour for Motor City to falsely accuse President Donald Trump of raping 13-year-olds, faced humiliating rejection over the weekend when his movie collapsed at the box office. Although released in 1,600 theaters, Motor City grossed a pathetic $1.6 million in its debut. Its per-screen average was a laughable $1,015, placing it 18th in the per-screen-average derby.
Here’s the best news: Motor City’s production budget alone was $30 million.

Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino, who spearheaded a failed “woke” rebrand last year, will step down from her position on Aug. 10, according to a Monday press release.
Masino, who served three years with the company, sparked a storm of backlash with her attempts to modernize Cracker Barrel’s branding in 2025. The company’s stock plummeted after the change, with shares losing more than half their value, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Two Florida death row inmates are scheduled to be executed hours apart on Tuesday, which would mark the first time in more than six decades the state puts to death multiple people within a single day, as state officials continue to ramp up executions.
“I’m not shocked anymore by the number of death warrants that are being signed, but it struck me as a kind of rupture to the system that we would execute two people within six hours from one another,” said Father Dustin Feddon, a Catholic priest who has been visiting prisoners on Florida’s death row for more than a decade.
Feddon currently ministers to James Duckett, who is scheduled

It's been coming for a while, but this week, the once-conservative firebrand Tucker Carlson has doubled down on a version of reality that would make Iran's mullahs blush. Carlson used an appearance on the East Meets West with Olga and Tara podcast to unload on a provision in the fiscal year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act that would expand defense-technology cooperation between the United States and Israel. His verdict? Lawmakers who back the measure are acting against America's own interests, effectively merging our nations’ militaries.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill unloaded on her predecessor this week in announcing that Garden State election officials found some 6,600 noncitizens on their voter rolls — about 400 of whom voted in elections.
Democrat Sherrill — a leftist identifying as a moderate — threw under the bus former Gov. Phil Murphy, also a Democrat, for “reckless failures” and an absence of transparency. This failure didn’t occur under my watch, but accountability starts now,” the new governor said in a statement. “I am taking action to prevent anything like it from occurring in the future and make sure those responsible are held accountable.”
But the same old transparency problems

James Talarico, the radical Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate race in Texas, once credited Islamic teachings and authors as an inspiration for his Christian faith. “I’ve learned as much about my faith from Salman’s tradition, from the Islamic mystics, from poets like Rumi, as much as I have from Christian authors,” Talarico said in the unearthed video.
Talarico has repeatedly made heretical and anti-Christian statements throughout his tenure in politics. He once claimed that he “always thinks of [himself] as a Christian who hates Christianity” and has made relativistic statements about all religions being “equal pathways to truth.”

Electricity output increased by 2.8 percent in 2025, from 4.308 trillion kilowatthours to 4.429 trillion kilowatthours (kWh) in 2024, according to the latest data compiled by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The news comes amid President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign promise to double U.S. electricity generation and bring prices down as demand skyrockets in the age of artificial intelligence and data centers, as well as with renewed high-tech manufacturing in the U.S.
For example at a Potterville, Mich. Rally in August 2024, President Trump said, “For us to compete successfully with China and others on AI, we’re going to need twice the electricity that we currently produce. Can you believe that?

Former CBS News investigative reporter Catherine Herridge, who also worked with Fox News, reviewed a batch of documents declassified by the Trump administration concerning Chinese election interference. President Trump spoke extensively about the vulnerabilities of our election system in a primetime address on July 16. The president outlined how Beijing has compromised the voter data of around 220 million Americans, paid U.S. reporters to spread anti-Trump propaganda, and cited numerous intelligence officials who kept the extent of the Chinese election meddling operation from him.

Acting DNI Bill Pulte on Sunday evening announced that he fired more Deep State intel officials.
This is Pulte’s fourth round of firings.
“Since becoming Acting Director of National Intelligence, our team has been smartly, and carefully, reducing the size of ODNI, re-focusing ODNI on national security, the law, and the statute,” Pulte said.
“As of this evening, we just finished a 4th round of thoughtful, measured layoffs. Thank you!” Pulte said on X. CBS News previously reported that Pulte fired six political intelligence staffers and sent 45 others to their home agencies.
CNN reported that Pulte fired six political appointees chosen by Tulsi Gabbard.
