Inside The Plan To Build A New American Internet

A new proposal to build a domestic internet could strengthen U.S. cybersecurity as the digital world sinks its fingers into every aspect of American life. InfraCo, a 501(c)4 nonprofit, has a meeting with the Department of Transportation next week to propose the $125 billion President Donald J. Trump Digital Security and Information Superhighway Act, which would lay the groundwork for the creation of a publicly owned domestic fiber-optic internet system. InfraCo is calling this system the National Broadband Master Plan, and it could harden U.S. digital infrastructure to be more resistant to foreign cyberattacks. “We’ve got basically everything connected to the public internet, right?”

Publicly owned.....I stopped right there. IMO, this will be a disaster, and government bureaucrats will take it over and wreck it, use it for political purposes against patriots.

The USA has been infiltrated by millions of aliens, has millions of antifa types that were born here, want to destroy the country, and work for the government. I don't see this as a solution, when Booz Allen contractors have access to everything in the government.

Funny: TDS = Trump Digital Security. The irony in all of this is that the then-DoD, through DARPA, originally created the internet as a method for the military to securely and rapidly communicate information.

Fiber optic can be tapped into nearly anywhere along the line. Splicing in takes under 5 minutes with some practice.

Not a new idea, just new implementation. The phone companies ( Ma Bell, primarily) had a private system for government and military for decades. Wikipedia: The Automatic Voice Network (AUTOVON, military designation 490-L)[1] was a worldwide American military telephone system. The system was built starting in 1963, based on the Army's existing Switch Communications Automated Network (SCAN) system.

First off, if it's publicly owned, forget it. As Poster #1 states, the govt will use it against us, and publicly owned means everybody in the US 'must' have access to the internet whether they want it or not, or can/can't afford it - that means taxpayers pay for everybody. In addition, where did the govt come up with the 125 billion dollar number? Answer: somebody pulled that number out of their butt!! We all know when the contracts are signed, that number will double, while billions will disappear (stolen), and nobody in govt will know where it went.

Watch the reaction to the primaries in New York last week and you will hear a word that would have ended a campaign a generation ago: socialism. Candidates now say it with pride. Commentators warn, accurately, that the platform beneath it, abolishing borders, defunding the police, seizing private property, is something far more radical than the politics most of the public grew up with. Here is the question almost no one is asking: where did these ideas come from? They did not appear overnight on a ballot. They were taught. For two decades, they were cultivated, rewarded, and treated as obvious in American classrooms, first in our universities and then

Billionaire Democratic kingmaker George Soros and his son Alex spent a staggering $102.8 million in the midterm election cycle — making the family chief architects of the party’s seismic shift toward the radical left. With the November elections still more than four months away, George Soros could shatter his own spending record of $128 million set during the last midterms four years ago, when he was the biggest single donor. “Money talks, and Soros money says the most insidious, unconstitutional, costly tax hikes in American history are on the table,” said Douglas Kellogg, state projects director for Americans for Tax Reform.

Former President Joe Biden was back onstage at a Democratic Party gala to excoriate President Trump Saturday – but needed a little help figuring out just how to exit. Biden, who got pushed out of his reelection bid by fellow Democrats in 2024 following his debate disaster against Trump, defended his record and blasted his successor during his speech to the Maryland Democratic Party’s Fight Back & Win summit near Baltimore. He ripped Trump for the “deliberate distraction – destruction of NATO” and hammered Trump’s White House ballroom as a “vanity project.” At his speech’s conclusion Biden delivered a familiar refrain about the nation’s ability to overcome

Former Republican Rep. In an ad announcing the launch of Back the Bold PAC, he said, “Washington has failed to hold itself accountable to the American people.” “Trust me, I lived it,” Kinzinger says in the ad. “Too many politicians are afraid to tell the truth,

Pennsylvania joined several other states in declining to participate in the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington, DC, claiming that it was because of “the high cost to taxpayers” and being unable to find businesses willing to “sponsor the booth.” In a statement to the Hill, a spokesperson from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development cited those reasons, adding that the state “will not be a participant in the Great American State Fair.” Pennsylvania opting out of participating in the Great American State Fair, which began on June 25 and goes until July 10, comes as other Democrat-governed states such as Maine, Massachusetts, Washington, Illinois, Oregon,

The UK's unpopular and outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer is leaving a parting gift for the British people by releasing thousands of violent convicts, including foreign-born criminals who are unlikely to be deported. Labour’s prison reform plan has triggered a political storm after the government introduced changes that could send thousands of offenders back into communities earlier than expected. Justice Secretary David Lammy will implement legal changes that will see criminals convicted of murder and sex crimes released later this year. The reforms will allow eligible prisoners to leave custody sooner under revised release rules as part of the Labour government's efforts to reduce prison overcrowding.

The victory of two DSA-backed candidates and one former member delivered a shock to the Democratic Party establishment, which has begun to call for better policing of the party’s primaries against candidates who are only seeking to exploit it, not join it. “I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination,”

The Government published its highly-anticipated ‘Farming Roadmap’ on Wednesday, outlining its long-term vision for Britain’s agriculture sector. The 71-page document outlined the Government’s intention to help British farmers wind down high-emission farming – including cattle – and move towards “growing oilseeds and pulses” for planet-based products. “Farmers will play a critical role in delivering this transition by adopting practices that reduce emissions while sustaining productive, commercially viable businesses,” the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) wrote.

It's one of the dumbest ideas in the history of taxation, advocated and planned by some of the most economically ignorant people to ever turn oxygen into CO2, which doesn't mean plenty of lefties won't vote for it. The once-Golden State's impeccably coiffed Governor Gavin Newsom, with a note of panic in his virtual voice, wants Californians to know he's voting "no," and why he wants them to vote against the measure as well.
