During an appearance on the Unity Over Division podcast, U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico (D) suggested it was “common sense” to mandate how guns are stored in homes and to ban private sales.
Talarico said, “I am a believer in the Second Amendment. I don’t pick and choose between the Bill of Rights, I believe in the Second Amendment just as much as I believe in the first.”
He went on to state his conviction that you need to get a permit to exercise the First Amendment right to assemble, then outlined gun controls that he described as “common sense.”
Talarico said, “We’ve got to make sure

Should it be legal for a private sale be made to a felon? Someone with a history of mental health issues?
If the answer is NO then someone needs to come up with a way to ensure the same vetting takes place for private sales as for retail sales.

A gun, locked in a safe is not available for self-defense. A gun you purchased may not, after some experience, be what you wanted. It is an investment and can be resold, privately. If the government blocks that, then through the 'Takings' clause, the government must reimburse the citizen for their loss of value.
Talarico is just another Democrat thug trying to make America safer for his criminal buddies, who don't follow the law at all. His disregard for the Constitution should get him exiled from the country. It won't... but it should.

Yeah, right "I believe in the Second Amendment"......except that he believes in a LOT OF infringements. The Shall NOT be infringed part is CRITICAL.
No private sales is infringement.
Lock up at home....INFRINGEMENT.
Any restrictions, frankly, qualify as infringements.
If I cannot buy, own, carry and sell a gun as easily as a hammer or pair of pliers.....it is an infringement.

Should there be Miranda rights for stupid politicians?

Um, the Bill of Rights isn't about common sense. It's about protecting citizens from nut jobs and goobernment overreach. When liberals exhibit some 'common sense', like men can't have babies and Climate isn't man made, then we might not need the Bill of Rights. But until then...

He believes in the second amendment as much as he believes in the first? Must mean he cares equally little about both.

#2, All the vetting laws and a lot more are in place in NY state. Law abiding citizens with NO criminal record are not only constrained by the kinds of firearms they can buy, and ammo capacity, they face new unconstitutional laws every year. Despite, a wish list far beyond your concerns, it is just as easy now for a mental case or criminal to buy illegal guns, with illegal capacity, as it was 40 years ago. NYC still is in the top 10 for big cities and Rochester is way ahead for small cities with gun crimes,
How about you let citizens with no criminal record do what they want with guns? LEGAL gun owners in NY state have a number of gun crimes than NY State Police and other NY state LEOs. That has been a fact for decades,
Legal NY gun owners have been at the front of demanding crimes while armed with a gun, be prosecuted to the Max, but of course NY prosecutors don't do that. They are rats for the most part and instead of throwing the book at armed criminals, they plea bargain, with no bail, or they don't prosecute the gun part at all.
They like more gun crime, since it gives wannabe slaves and power mad rats, crimes to point to that make 'something must be done' illegal gun laws more appealing to the TV educated voters. And they don't want to upset their criminal base culture voters.
The worse part of this mostly rat run urban problem is, NONE of the scum running this scam are ever called for accountability by a media that loves gun crime, and who is all in on disarming citizens who insist on their right to defend themselves, like other Americans in other states with far less gun laws and far less gun crimes.

NY permit holders have LOWER number of gun crimes than NY state LEOs, is how that should have read.
Legal gun owners are NY scapegoats for decades of willful failure by rat leadership and a rat court system that is both dysfunctional and corrupt..

What's the use to have protection in one's home if it's not available for use?

There should be no more gun laws. No current gun laws have prevented criminals from obtaining firearms, only law-abiding citizens.
The only requirement to own firearms should be is to have the necessary funds to purchase them.

Fine, lock up your guns, Bozo, if you even know what it's like to fire one. Loaded and ready is the only way you are going to save your family if the occasion arises.

The media makeover is in full swing for this brainless and arrogant Beto O'Dork.
His simply cannot disavow his previous statements on the record and on videotape! A Leopard cannot change his "spots" but the media will do its very best 24/7 until November 3rd to attempt to do it. The most recent effort what to show Talafreako eating a pork rib when he says he is "vegan"--
I wonder if he actually took a bite of ANY of the hugely stacked plate of brisket and ribs which would have easily cost over $100 these days of if he just held it and looked at it....

That looked like a Brontosaurus rib he was supposedly gnawing on. I'm surprised his handlers haven't trotted out Talarico riding shotgun on a tank.
Who's the bigger joke? Talarico or the Enemedia quislings? Tight race there!

Talarico’s gun control stance, apparently putting more gun control obstacles in the faces of law abiding gun owners, should go over great with the Texas electorate, don’t you think?

By all means run hard to the left on one of the issues that sank Beto's Senate run against Ted Cruz and got Cornyn destroyed in his primary run vs. Ken Paxton.
That boy just ain't right, bless his heart.
