MOBILE, Ala. - The Gulf Coast Regional Maritime Response and Render-Safe Team retrieved and detonated an improvised explosive device found underwater at the Converse Reservoir dam, the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System announced Tuesday. The multi-agency effort included the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, FBI Bomb Squad, Mobile Police Department Explosive Ordinance Detail, ALEA Bomb Squad and the Daphne Search and Rescue Team. Divers surveying the dam for routine repair and maintenance located the grenade-type IED. MAWSS alerted the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, which coordinated the multi-agency response for analysis, retrieval and safe demolition. “Our top priority is keeping your drinking water safe,” said Bud McCrory, MAWSS director. “This is an unprecedented threat,

Based on where the boat is, it appears this was an attempt to breach the dam.

Some clown trying to do some 'grenade fishing' with a home made grenade....and it didn't go off. Not a chance that an explosive the size of a grenade could damage that dam. Much ado about some redneck clown screwing around.

Supreme Court rules trucking broker can

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Thursday that a man maimed in a tractor-trailer crash could sue the broker who arranged the load, a major win for highway safety advocates who have sounded alarms about unsafe trucking companies and the high number of deaths and injuries in truck crashes. A CBS News investigation last month revealed the widespread scope — and deadly consequences — of the explosion in demand for overland shipping, in part because more people shop online, and the strain that demand has placed on America's trucking fleet.
Trump Gets Big Wins in China on Iran, Trade 2 replies

The Chinese are certainly pulling out all the stops and rolling out the red carpet and all the bells and whistles for President Donald Trump. China has been put in a box with Operation Epic Fury, when so much of Iran's oil would normally go to China. Then, too, they don't want to get walloped with big tariffs. So they know they have to work hard. On Thursday, Trump had a more than two-hour meeting with Xi, and it sounds like he got some big wins out of the exchange. President Trump had a good meeting with President Xi of China. The two sides discussed ways

Fairfax Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano struggled to defend his office’s lax treatment of illegal immigrants during a heated Thursday hearing on Capitol Hill, where he was joined by the mother of a woman who was recently murdered by an illegal alien. The House Judiciary Committee asked Descano to testify in light of recent violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants in Fairfax County, including the brutal murder of Stephanie Minter earlier this year at a Fairfax bus stop. Abdul Jalloh, an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone, was charged with second-degree murder

The Israeli government is suing the New York Times over columnist Nicholas Kristof’s thinly-sourced report accusing Israeli soldiers and prison guards of using rape and other forms of sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners as part of an “organized state policy.” Kristof’s column, which goes so far as to accuse Israeli soldiers of using trained dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners, cites a number of obviously conflicted organizations and individuals whose accounts are not backed by documentation or supporting eyewitness accounts.

RIYADH/DUBAI - Saudi Arabia launched numerous, unpublicized strikes on Iran in retaliation for attacks carried out in the kingdom during the Middle East war, two Western officials briefed on the matter and two Iranian officials said. The Saudi attacks, not previously reported, mark the first time that the kingdom is known to have directly carried out military action on Iranian soil and show it is becoming much bolder in defending itself against its main regional rival. The attacks, launched by the Saudi Air ‌Force, were assessed to have been carried out in late March, the two Western officials said. One said only that they were

Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton just reminded Democrats that a legislative chamber isn't a daycare center with microphones. Sexton removed all 24 House Democrats from their committee assignments after disruptions during a special session on new congressional maps. WPLN News cleanly broke it down. Sexton has taken issue with the way Democratic lawmakers protested — linking arms and walking out of the chamber as the vote was called. In a letter, Sexton alleged that Democrats “created disorder” by using banned props, walking out and “encouraging disruptions … in coordination with paid protestors and attendees in the gallery.”

The UAE is prepared to fight for its life against Iran, and has militarily joined the U.S. and Israel in taking down the region’s largest supporter of terrorism. Although it acted secretly, the UAE reportedly attacked a refinery on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf; the attack took the facility offline for months. Iran has attacked the UAE aggressively, sending 2,800 missiles and drones into the country. The UAE responded to these attacks, and the U.S. and Israel quietly acknowledged and welcome their support. Out of all the Gulf countries, the UAE is the only one that has responded to Iran’s attacks. It also signaled

The phrase "quit while you're behind" comes to mind ... for everyone else but Democrats, apparently. Now, even The Atlantic has begun sending warning flares. The current freakout over Louisiana v Callais may fill up campaign coffers, but the party's determination to cling to racial set-asides in all areas of policy has alienated its former core constituency, warns Richard D. Kahlenberg. Working-class voters want policies that improve their lives directly much more than they worry about diversity, equity, and inclusion quotas in either the public or private sectors. No surprise there, I have to say. At the time, the CIA agreed to withhold its conclusion that the most likely explanation for COVID's spread was a lab leak, although it has subsequently stated that the lab leak was likely. BOMBSHELL: Here is the entire opening statement from CIA whistleblower James Erdman lll. He testifies that Dr. Fauci's role in the COVID cover-up was INTENTIONAL.

AUSTIN — Former President Barack Obama met with U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico Tuesday in Texas, putting his support behind a campaign that Democrats see as a shot, if a long one, for the party to win statewide in the reliably conservative state. Obama lunched with Talarico and Democratic state Rep. Gina Hinojosa, the nominee running to unseat Texas’ Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, at a taco shop in Austin. The visit was meant to give the candidates a boost from one of the more liked figures in the Democratic Party. Obama has been highlighting younger leaders in the party, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani,

It was fun while it lasted. Fun? Well ... revealing, anyway. Yesterday, the New York Times reported that Democrats in Virginia would amend the state constitution to force all sitting judges on its state supreme court to retire, after losing a 4-3 decision on another botched attempt to amend the state constitution. David wrote about the even more breathtaking abuse of power this would represent. It turns out that this was a bridge too far even for Democrats, who have begun to wonder about the backlash coming from its scummy tactics in gerrymandering the state. As one Democrat "operative" told the Virginia Scope this morning,

WASHINGTON — The Congressional Black Caucus, a power center in the Democratic Party for decades, saw its membership rise this Congress to an all-time high of 58 House members. Now, thanks to a Supreme Court redistricting ruling that’s expected to dramatically diminish Black representation on Capitol Hill, the CBC is fighting a five-alarm fire that could devastate its membership. CBC Chair Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., said as many as 19 of the caucus’ members could be affected by the redistricting wars in a worst-case scenario, though she noted it’s still fluid given that states are still drawing new maps in the

Despite being newly empowered by the Callais v. Louisiana Supreme Court ruling, South Carolina’s Republican-controlled Senate rejected moving ahead with a redistricting plan that would have likely unseated the state’s sole Democrat in Congress, Rep. This was short of the necessary two-thirds threshold, with five Republican senators defecting.

Not long ago, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul told New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to handle his own mess. Now she's writing him a $4 billion check to bail him out. Mamdani had barely settled into Gracie Mansion before he discovered what socialists always find out: Eventually, you run out of other people's money. His grand campaign promises — you know: free this, universal that — ran headlong into the reality that New York City couldn’t afford all the things Mamdani had campaigned on. So, Mamdani went looking to Albany for a bailout. And, originally, Hochul said no. "The mayor and City Council need to work together, identify savings,

A new poll suggests that a sizable number of Democrats -- more than 40% in some cases -- believe the attempts on President Donald Trump's life were fake. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 Americans over the age of 18, was conducted by NewsGuard and YouGov. It asked people to respond to three statements: "The assassination attempt against Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner in April 2026 was staged." "The assassination attempt against Donald Trump at a Trump presidential campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024 was staged." "The assassination attempt against Donald Trump at Trump International Golf Club in September 2024 was staged."

Former Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has unveiled a controversial new government initiative aimed at addressing issues in the city. The proposal would provide free dental care to methamphetamine users, funded by taxpayers. During a recent event, Bass shared her latest thoughts on how to tackle the city’s challenges, raising eyebrows as she discussed her approach. “How many people have you met who are homeless and don’t have any teeth?” she questioned. “Their teeth are gone because of meth. It’s hard to succeed without teeth. So, we need to offer comprehensive healthcare for these individuals.”

Several Frontier Airlines passengers suffered minor injuries over the weekend when their plane, departing from the Denver airport, struck a person trespassing on the runway. That person was killed after being hit by the plane's engine, which caused an explosion and fire that aborted the takeoff. That man has now been identified, which is raising questions about whether this was a sinister act, given his extensive criminal history. Authorities said Michael Mott, 41, was the man hit by the plane on May 9. Mott has been arrested 20 times previously, including for attempted murder. He was most recently arrested about a month before he trespassed at the Denver airport.

I have a couple of friends who are liberals -- not those liberals who have reached what I call “the incurable terminal stage.” Nor are they the psychotics who, the moment they are exposed to facts or viewpoints different from theirs become wild-eyed and hysterical. Even so, on certain topics their ability to reason seems to break down. A couple of months back, the issue of illegal aliens came up. They voiced the usual talking points on the topic: the aliens are just trying to build a better life, they pay taxes, only a few commit crimes, etc. They did not state they are being kidnapped and put in concentration camps.

A breaking news alert from Fox News, apparently confirmed by a Republican congresswoman, states that the Central Intelligence Agency went rogue, raiding the office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) to seize files. It seems from the Fox News report that the CIA seized the files just now, though a whistleblower from the agency who testified to Congress today referred to the wrongful seizure of files in his testimony. It is therefore not clear if the raid occurred today or before the testimony, or if there was more than one seizure.
