World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder warned that the attack Thursday at a synagogue and Jewish kindergarten just outside of Detroit, Michigan, was not an isolated incident but part of a broader wave of “acts of terror aimed squarely at Western and Judeo-Christian values.” If leaders don’t act quickly, democracy and society as we know it are at risk of total collapse,” Lauder warned. The renowned Jewish leader and billionaire philanthropist noted that the synagogue attack came after Islamic State-inspired suspects threw explosive devices at a protest outside the New York City mayor’s residence over the weekend.

There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America -- there's the United States of America.’
I recall that he said something about red and blue states too. It worked in 2008 for a lot of reasons: Iraq war fatigue, a sloppy McCain effort, a housing crisis that conveniently happened in the last 2 months of the campaign, and a news media deeper in the tank for Obama than the Titanic on the ocean floor.
So what happened to the great uniter? Well, a couple of things. Maybe it was all a big “moderate” fake as Larry Elder wrote:

The Florida Senate passed voter ID legislation Thursday, sending the bill to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk, as the SAVE America Act stalls in the U.S. Senate.
SB 1334, a bill to strengthen the verification process for voters’ citizenship status, passed the Sunshine State’s Senate 27-12, fulfilling the prediction of Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia earlier Thursday.
The bill had passed the Florida House, 83-21, in February.
These new laws will further help protect the ballot box,” Jeremy Redfern, deputy chief of staff to Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, told The Daily Signal.

Hello, this is Victor Davis Hanson for The Daily Signal.
There’s a lot of talk about a Make America Great split among Trump supporters, and this originated here in context with the Iranian war. I’m speaking on a Monday, the 10th day of the war. And there’s talk in the air that the MAGA base may desert President Donald Trump because, after all, MAGA’s credo was no optional wars in the Middle East. That came out of a disgust with the 20-year misadventure in Afghanistan and the skedaddle from Kabul that left billions of dollars of weapons, and, of course,

The Trump administration swiftly removed former Miss California USA winner Carrie Prejean Boller from the White House Religious Liberty Commission after officials accused her of attempting to “hijack” a hearing on antisemitism to advance a personal political agenda.
The dramatic fallout has quickly turned into a public feud, with Prejean Boller launching a blistering attack on President Donald Trump and members of the commission after her removal.
According to Fox News, the decision to remove Prejean Boller was praised by multiple religious leaders and conservatives who argued that the commission’s purpose is to defend religious liberty, not serve as a platform for controversial personal activism.

France tried to bypass the war against Iran, but the conflict found it.
Today, a drone swarm attack by Iranian forces against the Iraqi region of Erbil has targeted not only US troops and military assets, but also British, Italian, and French troops and/or bases.
When it comes to the French grouping, the attack left a deadly mark, with a soldier killed in that attack against the Iraqi Kurdistan base. An attack killed a French soldier in Erbil in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region, President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday. A member of the armed forces ‘died for France during an attack in the Erbil region of Iraq’, Macron posted on X, —

An investigation by CBS News has discovered massive Medicare fraud at more than 700 out of 1,800 licensed hospice providers in Los Angeles County.
The scam utilizes stolen Medicare numbers to fraudulently enroll healthy seniors in hospice with fake terminal diagnoses, billing Medicare an average of $29,000 per patient without delivering care, to the tune of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. About 31 percent of hospice and home health companies in the U.S. are registered in L.A. County but when investigators visited the addresses listed, they found no clinics, patients or healthcare workers.
Instead they found multiple red flags, including multiple hospices in one building,

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) announced Thursday that he will bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor next week, where it will likely fail to meet the 60-vote threshold to pass.
“It is a package of common sense policies, the kind of common sense policies that should get an automatic yes vote from literally every member of this body,” Thune stated on the Senate floor.
The bill requires proof of citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID to cast a ballot. Polls show the American people overwhelmingly support nationwide voter ID and proof of citizenship whether black, white,

Dr Aseem Malhotra is fighting for his medical licence after blowing the whistle on the Covid vaccines as he stands accused of undermining trust in the medical profession by questioning vaccination. He has written about his ordeal in the Telegraph. Here’s an excerpt.
In early 2021, I had no significant safety concerns about the Covid vaccines. I received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine. I appeared on Good Morning Britain, encouraging uptake in high-risk communities. At that stage, based on the published trial data, I believed the benefits outweighed the risks.
Six months later, my father suddenly died, aged 73.

The fact that Team Russia and Team USA would be discussing a strategic economic alliance on the issue of energy is not a surprise to those who watched both President Putin and President Trump outline that same content discussion in Alaska last August. However, given the current conflict with Iran and the escalating oil price issue, Russia and the USA discussing Russian oil capacity and U.S. sanctions therein takes on a new angle.
It has been obvious that domestic U.S. politics, in combination with the Russia-Ukraine war, has impeded President Trump from organizing a strategic reset with Russia pulling away from historic conflicts.

Rahm Emanuel has no shortage of action plans for Democrats, whom he thinks are poised for success in the fall midterms if they get their message right.
The former Obama chief of staff was an instrumental player in 2006, when Democrats flipped control of the House and Senate after 12 years of Republican control — during a different war started by a GOP president Twenty years later, Emanuel — now an unofficial White House hopeful himself — says there are lessons to be learned from that time. And he’s conferring with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on how to put those lessons in play.

An Iran-linked hacker group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on U.S. medical tech company Stryker.
The company produces a range of medical equipment and technology, and is headquartered in Michigan, NBC News reported.
“Stryker is experiencing a global network disruption to our Microsoft environment as a result of a cyber attack. We have no indication of ransomware or malware and believe the incident is contained,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The cyberattack appears to be the first significant instance of Iran hacking a U.S. company since the war between the countries started last month.
