Then why did the first report say that the victims had a connection to anti-ICE support?

So, governors and mayors all over the Notheast were urging everyone not to drive on the roads and anyone with a lick of common sense wouldn't even do so on their own, yet this pilot decides to take to the sky in a snowstorm?

So, it appears, as usual that the media reports of "anti-ICE lawyers" on the aircraft were false. This report indicates that they supported Republicans with financial support. The choice to push the limits of wing icing beyond safe limits was very unfortunate. The wings on this aircraft use a high performance airfoil design which demands absolutely smooth surfaces to function correctly. Even slight surface roughness, such as light frost, causes severe loss of lift. Significant surface contamination with ice is absolutely unacceptable on any aircraft, but particularly so in these 'super critical' airfoils. The fact that the wings were prechilled by a multi hour flight at high altitude, where temps are typically -50 or colder just makes the tendency for the wings to be coated with ice in freezing rain and snow just makes things less safe. A very bad judgement call to proceed with the takeoff when all the commercial flights had cancelled due to this icing situation.

There is another husband and wife in Houston, TX with the last name of Arnold. They are very committed to left causes. They are incredibly wealthy and fund the left agenda. Not sure if they are lawyers or whether they are related to Tara Arnold who was killed in the crash. Looks like "reporters" did not get their information straight before they went public.

I too wonder what’s up, #1. Could it be that these attorneys do as we found out ChikFilA does - they gave donations to both sides. As this is a prominent law firm isn’t this likely?

It could be they bankrolled 'republican' labeled leftist pols at heart to try and hoodwink the public. Happens in a lot of states. One tell from the article is a quote from Lesley Briones the proud latina democrat commissioner from Houston. FTA :“I am close friends with Kurt and Tara Arnold,” Briones reportedly said. Add to this the fact that the law firm is personal injury and they donated $40 million dollars to Univ of Texas and it screams democrat. Open secrets shows the firm of Arnold and Itkin have donated 100% to the democrats since 2020 and never dipping below 96% of donations to dems since 2008.

Thank you, #12, very useful information, especially the "never below 96% to Dems since 2008". THAT tells the tale, Still a very dangerous choice to push the limits of anti-icing technology, especially with a wing design which is extra sensitive to any surface roughness.

The United States is pushing Bolivia to kick suspected Iranian spies out of the South American country and designate Tehran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist group, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter. Washington also wants the government in La Paz to designate Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas - both of which the United States considers to be proxies of Tehran - as terrorist organizations, said the sources. The private diplomatic push comes amid a broader US effort to deepen its geopolitical influence in Latin America and diminish that of its adversaries in the region.

Mexico sent 37 people accused of being criminal operatives to the United States on Tuesday, the latest apparent bid to alleviate pressure from President Trump to do more to combat the powerful groups smuggling drugs across the border. It was the first such transfer this year, when Mr. Trump’s threats of military action against Mexico have grown more direct, but the third since he took office. Mexican authorities have now sent nearly 100 people accused of being key criminals to the United States. The transfers are part of a larger effort by Mexican authorities to appease Mr. Trump as he threatens unilateral strikes inside Mexican territory

A long-running effort to help disadvantaged students of color in Los Angeles schools is under legal challenge by a group that claims the nation’s second-largest school system is discriminating against white students. The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in federal court, targets efforts to bring resources to underserved schools going back decades and rooted in battles over forced and voluntary integration. Filed in the Central District of California by the 1776 Project Foundation, the suit alleges that L.A. Unified discriminates against white students because of a program that provides more resources to schools where 70% or more of the students are nonwhite

Do licensed gun owners have a right to carry a loaded weapon into stores, restaurants and other private places that are open to the public? California and Hawaii are among five states with new laws that forbid carrying firearms onto private property without the consent of an owner or manager. But the Trump administration joined gun-rights advocates on Tuesday in urging the Supreme Court to strike down these laws as unconstitutional under the 2nd Amendment. Such a law “effectively nullifies licenses to carry arms in public,” Trump’s lawyers said. If you “stop at a gasoline station, you are committing a crime,” Deputy Solicitor Gen. Sarah Harris told the court.

Even in the heyday of the liberal democratic order, the conceit of the World Economic Forum induced skepticism: Once a year, the wealthiest, most powerful people on earth gather in a village in the Swiss Alps to devise solutions to the most critical problems in modern life. The slogan of the forum, “Committed to Improving the State of the World,” has long encapsulated the reason for doubt. People with the greatest stake in the status quo — billionaire executives who run the largest banks and technology companies — are cast as change agents, uniting with world leaders to pursue the betterment of humanity. The attack, known as a Direct Denial of Service, is when a perpetrator seeks to disrupt access to a network or service by flooding it with superfluous requests in an attempt to overload the system.

Prominent Republicans and gun rights advocates helped elicit a White House turnabout this week after bristling over the administration’s characterization of Alex Pretti, the second person killed this month by a federal officer in Minneapolis, as responsible for his own death because he lawfully possessed a weapon. The death produced no clear shifts in U.S. gun politics or policies, even as President Donald Trump shuffles the lieutenants in charge of his militarized immigration crackdown. But important voices in Trump’s coalition have called for a thorough investigation of Pretti’s death while also criticizing inconsistencies in some Republicans’ Second Amendment stances.
