Even in the heyday of the liberal democratic order, the conceit of the World Economic Forum induced skepticism: Once a year, the wealthiest, most powerful people on earth gather in a village in the Swiss Alps to devise solutions to the most critical problems in modern life. The slogan of the forum, “Committed to Improving the State of the World,” has long encapsulated the reason for doubt. People with the greatest stake in the status quo — billionaire executives who run the largest banks and technology companies — are cast as change agents, uniting with world leaders to pursue the betterment of humanity. "“Why is Trump going to Davos?” asked Mr. Blyth, the political economist “He’s punching them in the head and telling them who’s in charge." Isn't this delightful? The people going to Davos remind me of the dems; powerful but ultimately incompetent. One of the "tells" is support of climate change concerns. It is a faked up crisis that is collapsing under its own weight. It is also a weapon against the US. No serious people should have given it credence, or certainly not the amount that it has received, and certainly not the effort to roll us back to the stone age because we wouldn't have the power needed to run modern society. So what are the real goals of Davos? Control of America. Outside financial, their goals are those of the Left which are weapons against the US. They are not necessarily trying to destroy the US, which has its value to them, but instead to control it. Trump has shattered their dreams and holds the power to cripple them and they know it.

All Billionaires care about is making more money and finding ways to keep it. There are Millions of starving people in the world they could feed with their Billions if they reeally cared, but they keep theirs and tell the Governments to do the spending.

The long-simmering fight between some of L.A.’s best-known billboard attorneys and Uber, one of their most frequent targets, is poised to spill out of the courtroom and onto the November ballot. The ride-share giant is gathering signatures for an initiative that, if passed by voters, would cap how much attorneys can earn in vehicle collision cases. The company pledges the change will give victims a larger cut of their settlement money, alleging predatory attorneys are inflating medical bills to increase their own profits. Lawyers claim it will decimate their lucrative niche

Donald Trump is planning a new “mega” consulate on Greenland fitted with bulletproof glass, as he pushes to take over the Arctic island. Experts say he will fill the new 3,000 square metre “luxury” tower basement with armoured windows and CIA and NSA spies, as the threat of annexation looms. 9 The US State Department is even hiring interns who speak the island’s language as Trump looks to win locals over with $100,000 lump sums.

“People live in homes, not corporations.” That didn’t come from a leftist on the campaign trail but from President Donald Trump. Between defending the killing of Renee Nicole Good and disparaging the anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis, the president announced Wednesday(opens in new tab) on Truth Social that he was “immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes.” He called on Congress to codify the policy without details about how it would be implemented or whom it would affect. “[The] American Dream is increasingly out of reach for far too many people, especially younger Americans,” the president wrote.

A website dedicated to leaking personal information about Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents was reportedly subject to a cyber attack that its founder believes may have originated in Russia. Dominick Skinner, a Netherlands-based immigration activist, told The Daily Beast that his website, ICE List, came under cyberattack Tuesday evening after the publication reported Skinner planned to release personal information, obtained through a whistleblower, about thousands of employees. The attack, known as a Direct Denial of Service, is when a perpetrator seeks to disrupt access to a network or service by flooding it with superfluous requests in an attempt to overload the system.

United States President Donald Trump says he will slap a 25 percent tariff on any country doing business with Iran, ratcheting up pressure on its government, which is facing its biggest protests in decades. Years of Western sanctions have battered the OPEC member nation’s economy, causing high inflation, unemployment and the collapse of its currency, the rial. The current protests were triggered by the mounting economic woes, which the Iranian government has struggled to address, partly due to its economic isolation. Its main source of revenue comes from exports to China, Turkiye, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and India.

The United States has designated the Egyptian, Lebanese, and Jordanian branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as global terrorist organizations, citing their alleged support for the Palestinian militant group Hamas. This move, formally set in motion last November, will trigger sanctions against one of the Arab world's oldest and most influential Islamist movements. The US Treasury Department confirmed the three chapters are now "specially designated global terrorists," accusing them of backing or encouraging violent attacks against Israel and American partners.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed a presidential memorandum directing the U.S. to withdraw from 66 international organizations, ordering executive departments and agencies to cease participation in and funding of entities the administration says no longer serve U.S. interests. The memorandum follows a State Department review ordered earlier this year under Executive Order 14199 and applies to 35 non-United Nations organizations and 31 United Nations entities, according to the White House. In the memorandum, Trump said he reviewed Secretary Rubio's findings and determined it is "contrary to the interests of the U.S. to remain a member of, participate in, or otherwise provide support" to the listed organizations.

A criminal jailed for growing drugs has avoided deportation back to Albania after a judge ruled it would be “harsh” on his partner because she cannot speak Albanian. Armando Iberhasaj, who was sentenced to four months in prison for growing more than 200 cannabis plants, claimed his deportation would breach his rights to a family life with his partner under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). He claimed this outweighed his criminal threat to society given that he had been jailed for less than a year – the current cut-off point above which foreign offenders face automatic deportation.

A federal judge in Washington ruled on Monday that the Trump administration had to either help bring back to the United States a group of Venezuelan immigrants who were deported to El Salvador in March and subsequently sent back to their homeland or give them a chance to contest their expulsions in the U.S. courts. The ruling by the judge, James E. Boasberg, was the latest twist in the long-running saga of the Venezuelan men who were expelled from the country on March 15 under a proclamation by President Trump invoking the expansive powers of an 18th-century law known as the Alien Enemies Act.

The Justice Department will no longer pursue civil rights lawsuits based on “disparate impact theory,” the Trump administration announced Tuesday. The move comes after 50 years of government policy that encouraged lawsuits against “race neutral” policies without showing evidence of actual racial discrimination, the department said. Disparate impact theory is a framework that often assumes discrimination when there are different outcomes for different groups of people, even if there is no explicit discriminatory practice in place. “For decades, the Justice Department has used disparate-impact liability to undermine the constitutional principle that all Americans must be treated equally under the law,”

What is it about the National Defense Authorization Act that makes it a dumping ground for every dumb liberal pet project? First the Trump administration pushed an AI data-center amnesty that would have stripped states of authority over massive, power-hungry facilities. Then lawmakers tried to slip in Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s housing bill, a package built to subsidize Section 8 tenants and builders and to fuel the very forces driving the current housing bubble. After a backlash, both provisions came out of the NDAA. Now congressional leaders plan to pass the Massachusetts Democrat’s housing bill on its own.

Anti-ICE protest disrupted a Sunday church service in Minneapolis after a group of activists entered a congregation and forced worship to stop, according to footage shared online. The incident occurred at Cities Church, a Southern Baptist Convention congregation, where protesters stormed into the sanctuary chanting anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement slogans. The group alleged that one of the church’s lead pastors was affiliated with ICE, a claim the protesters repeated while interrupting the service. Video from inside the church shows congregants visibly shaken with the service ultimately being shut down. It is unclear how the protesters obtained the information that led them to target the church.

While taking part in a discussion at the Center for American Progress, Schumer received a question about what he “can do about bringing” the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) back, after DOGE came in and made cuts. “If you look at the budget actually, we’re working on right now — and we’ll have the T-HUD budget, you know, transportation and HUD budget, we restore most of the cuts and even go higher than previous years on many of the programs that DOGE slashed,” Schumer responded.

RINO Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE) floated the idea of impeaching President Trump if he invades Greenland. “I would lean that way,” he said of supporting an impeachment over Greenland. “The off-ramp is realizing Republicans aren’t going to tolerate this and he’s going to have to back off. He hates being told no, but in this case, I think Republicans need to be firm.” Bacon announced his retirement from Congress last July, and he’s eying impeachment as his final act. Bacon also co-sponsored a bill with Democrats to curb Trump’s power and prevent a military invasion of Greenland, which Trump has not expressed plans for.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Rows of businesses stood shuttered inside a sprawling complex of Somali businesses on a recent afternoon. Karmel Mall in south Minneapolis contains more than a hundred small businesses in suites offering everything from clothing and food to insurance and accounting services. On Thursday, the noisy hallways inside lay quiet, save for occasional chatter between neighboring vendors. The smell of fried food still wafted from the bakeries, the central heating hummed and the sound of Quran recitation flowed quietly from some shops. But many sellers sat alone in their clothing stores, waiting for the occasional customer to walk by. Everyone

Things are getting a bit crazy in Minnesota. We reported how an ICE agent was attacked earlier in the week, federal vehicles were destroyed and damaged, and people even stole weapons out of the vehicles. All this isn't just falling on ICE. But what happened to a group of tech workers at a deli in Minneapolis was pretty wild. Five software engineers went out to eat at a local deli for a casual lunch, when one of the men got a bit of a surprise as they were eating.
