The President Receives a Historic Gift

Original Article

On Thursday afternoon, I wrote about how María Corina Machado visited the White House and had lunch with Donald Trump. While I was writing that article, some rumors were circulating about a big gesture she made, but I couldn't confirm them at the time. Now I can. The Venezuelan opposition leader, on behalf of her people, gave the president her Nobel Peace Prize. Not a replica. The real thing. Since the meeting was purposely kept private, I wasn't sure that a photo would surface, but one got out, and as of late Thursday night, both the White House and Machado have shared it on social media.

The Nobel Prize is a lot like the Presidential Medal Of Freedom. Its just a political payoff or a bribe. It may have meant something once, but like everything else it has been dumbed down. My Boy Scout merit badges mean more.

The beautiful genuineness of the heartfelt sincerity in her magnanimous, yet humble, gesture far outweighs anything the Nobel Peace Prize committee could have done, or would have done for President Trump. It brought tears to my eyes. I’m thankful for the leadership of President Trump and for what it means for America and the world. Prayers for God’s special blessings of guidance and protection on him, this lovely woman, María Corina Machado, and all, who may never be known publicly, or get public credit, but stand for good in this world despite the evil formed against them. May they be successful in their efforts, for the sake of us all.

Did she sign over her annual stipend from the Nobel Committee? Somehow, I doubt it, but she should at least keep that! I truly hope this woman can eventually take the reigns of power in her home country, as she was elected to do, but in the meantime, there's a whole lotta "cleanup" needing to be done in that hellhole of a country. Finding people to assume leadership isn't hard to do in Latin American countries... it's finding the ones who will also agree to relinquish the power to which they accede.

It was nice of her to do. She resisted Maduro. Trump took him out. Unfortunately a prize given to Arafat (a homeless looking thug) and Obama (for being half black) means nothing. It’s tainted. It would have been more momentous if the committee had offered Trump the prize and he had declined.

After the smoke clears Trump should quietly give the Noble Peace Prize items back to her, as they were really awarded to her not him. From what Trump has accomplished there is no reason, except Euroweenie socialist politics, keeping Trump from receiving his own Noble Peace Prize, as the Euroweenies gave that prize to Obama for doing absolutely nothing.

A very gracious gesture which aptly displays the intelligence and honesty of Maria Conchita Machado. Across the pond the Nobel Committee is not so enamored with this gesture. The small-minded people who comprise the Committee put out a pithy, but petty, statement saying the Nobel Prize cannot be shared or transferred to another person. One can only wonder if they huffed and puffed behind closed doors, or maybe held their breath, while stomping their wittle feeties in disagreement?

A kind gesture by a lovely lady that warms the heart. We hope the Nobel Peace Prize's committee's heads are exploding by this momentous gesture and Maria's statement: "And 200 years in history, the people of Bolivar are giving back to the heir of Washington a medal, in this case a medal of the Nobel Peace Prize as a recognition for his unique commitment with our freedom." The Nobel Peace Prize has been diminished by the behavior of the Nobel Committee. In this case the woman who received it deserved the prize. Her giving the prize to a person she believed deserved it more and that is significant honor. Alfred Noble stole no ones money so the prize money was not stolen. Horrified by the uses to which the world put his invention - dynamite; he created the prizes for notable achievements as partial atonement for sins he did not commit using the fortune he made from his invention.

We all know the drill by now. Any time there’s weather, the “climate change” alarmists tell us it’s the end of the world. But all you have to do is get rid of your gas stove, pay more taxes, and submit to more regulation. Then that two feet of climate change in your driveway will magically melt away, and the already frozen polar ice caps will freeze once again. That’s how it works. When the weather weathers, that’s just another excuse for the left to pick your pocket and take away your freedoms. Well, in this little rural red pocket of a blue state,

The request for a response, issued by Justice Elena Kagan, who is handling the emergency-injunction request for the court, surprised many court watchers. Given that the justices allowed Texas Republicans’ gerrymandered map to stand, most thought the Supreme Court would allow the Los Angeles district court’s ruling earlier this month, validating California’s new map to stand as well.
