Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) I came of age politically just as Ronald Reagan was elected president. That kind of thing can give a young conservative a false sense of optimism about the future. Reagan was so much larger than life that he made the whole Republican Party seem stronger for a while. "Seem" is the operative word there. As I was to be reminded repeatedly after Reagan left office, Republicans in Washington all too often behaved like a gathering of jellyfish. It was almost understandable when the Democrats were in the majority in both the Senate and House. In the ensuing post-Reagan decades, however,

"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." ~ Samuel Adams In case you haven’t noticed, there is currently a “rather irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of communist tyranny” who are making a tremendous amount of noise. This minority is seriously focused on disrupting United States federal agents who are simply doing their job. These evil agents of tyranny are using the principal of which Adams speaks to do harm to the United States of America. The key players in this noise making are paid activists who employ the uninformed useful idiots

Fox News host Griff Jenkins told Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey point-blank on Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are in his city to detain illegal immigrant criminals. Frey called on ICE to “get the f*** out” of Minneapolis in the aftermath of Renee Good’s death, who was shot by an ICE agent after she appeared to accelerate her car toward the officer during an enforcement operation. Jenkins and Frey sparred on “Fox & Friends” while the host noted that ICE operations have ramped up across the U.S. to arrest illegal immigrants who crossed the border during former President Joe Biden’s administration. “Mr. Mayor, you ask ICE to get the

The Supreme Court held Wednesday that candidates for office can challenge rules governing elections in court. In a 7-2 decision, the majority held that Republican Illinois Rep. Michael Bost has standing to challenge state rules that allow mail-in ballots to be counted up to 14 days after Election Day. “Candidates have a concrete and particularized interest in the rules that govern the counting of votes in their elections, regardless whether those rules harm their electoral prospects or increase the cost of their campaigns,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion. “Their interest extends to the integrity of the election — and the democratic process by which they earn or lose the

Let’s pretend you are a liberal living in a red state. If you feel aggrieved about the condition of the world and believe that conservatives are to blame, you can find a few like-minded souls, print up some signs covered in half-clever phrases, and go protest. In most cases, unless you chain yourself to a railing on the courthouse steps or attack the police, you will usually be ignored. On the flip side, let’s pretend you are a conservative living in a deep blue state. If you don’t like the school policy, E.V. mandates, high electricity prices, or restrictive gun laws, and you dare to complain,

inneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration for its faithful enforcement of U.S. immigration law, whining loudly that his city was being unfairly targeted because it was run by Democrats while other cities had higher numbers of illegal aliens. He was scored for it, of course, and just found new way to embarrass his city. According to the Washington Examiner's editorial page: During his press conference announcing a suit brought by Minneapolis against the Department of Homeland Security, Mayor Jacob Frey questioned why thousands of immigration enforcement personnel, including agents from both Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, have been sent to his jurisdiction.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson managed to completely butcher the English language, leading to widespread mockery online. As CBS reported, the Supreme Court heard arguments on Tuesday on whether laws from Idaho and West Virginia that ban biological males from playing in girls’ and women’s sports violate the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection and the landmark law known as Title IX. Two bio males, Lindsay Hecox of Idaho and Becky Pepper-Jackson of West Virginia, sued their respective states, claiming they discriminate based on sex and transgender status. They claim the states’ laws ban every ‘transgender’ female from school sports, and treat them worse than others. This is, of course, not true.

The overlooked value of social media is how it provides people with a global platform for broadcasting rank stupidity. This week’s first contestant in the race to the bottom is Ken Martin, Chair of the Democratic National Committee, who plowed new ground by comparing events in Minnesota to those in -- wait for it -- Iran. That’s right; thousands of Iranians being slaughtered because they want to be free of the mullahs is exactly like one American being killed for trying to run down an ICE agent. "From Tehran to my birthplace of Minneapolis,” wrote Martin, “people are rising up against systems that wield violence without accountability. In Iran, brave protestors

On Wednesday morning, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions held a hearing on the dangers posed by chemical abortion drugs. During the proceedings, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) posed a simple, direct question to Dr. Nisha Verma, a board-certified OB-GYN, who was there as a Democrat witness. “Dr. Verma, I wasn't sure I understood your answer to Senator Moody a moment ago. Do you think that men can get pregnant?” Hawley asked. That should have been the most straightforward question in the world to answer. It required no policy analysis, no nuanced debate, no medical jargon. It only needed honesty. But, instead, we got evasion. Verma immediately signaled distress, explaining, “I hesitated

A proposal by Washington state Democrats to ban most law enforcement officers from wearing face-concealing masks during public operations is drawing sharp criticism from federal officials, who warn the measure could endanger officers at a time when violence and threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are rising dramatically nationwide. If enacted, Senate Bill 5855 would prohibit local, state, and federal law enforcement officers, including ICE agents, from wearing masks that obscure their identities during public interactions, with limited exceptions for undercover assignments and certain tactical operations. The bill received its first hearing on Tuesday before the Washington Senate Law & Justice Committee.

Justice Samuel Alito was on fire Tuesday during oral arguments in Little v. Hecox and utterly destroyed Kathleen R. Hartnett, the attorney representing a biological male student who wants to play sports on the girls’ team. His questioning cut right through activist jargon and forced the case onto solid legal ground, revealing just how contorted the arguments become when ideology collides with biological reality. For instance, when transgender activists are asked a simple question — “What is a woman?” — the response is usually a circular word salad claiming that “a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman.” Using a word to define itself explains nothing,

The Department of Housing and Urban Development likely paid out more than $84 million in ineligible assistance to Minnesota during President Joe Biden’s final year in office — including to more than 500 “deceased tenants,” according to officials and documents reviewed by The Post. HUD has been looking into billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded housing aid doled out by the Biden administration — and its most recent review found $84.6 million in potentially erroneous payments in fiscal year 2024. That included up to $496,000 in improper assistance to 509 dead tenants. Approximately $246,000 more was shelled out to 20 people whose Social Security numbers couldn’t be verified, meaning they were likely non-citizens.

Eleven House Democrats jumped party lines to vote with their Republican counterparts in a bid to overturn regulations pushed during former President Joe Biden’s tenure. According to Fox News, the House of Representatives voted 226-197 to overturn Biden-era regulations effectively aimed at restricting how strong shower heads could be. Federal law already caps how much water a shower head is allowed to emit. During the Biden administration, regulators took a broader view of that rule. They concluded that showers equipped with multiple nozzles had to be treated as a single unit, meaning the total water flow across all heads could not exceed the legal maximum.
