White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt warned Wednesday that “people will be in handcuffs” as fallout grows from expansive fraud allegations under Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s watch. “President Trump is not going to let Governor Walz off the hook,” Leavitt told “Fox & Friends,” echoing arguments that responsibility lies with the governor as the alleged fraud occurred under his administration. Leavitt said the Trump administration has surged federal resources into Minnesota, with multiple agencies conducting investigations tied to the alleged fraud.

An abusive boyfriend viciously stabbed and strangled the mother of his children to death while out on bail — which was posted by a Portland defund-the-police group, authorities said Wednesday. Mohamed Adan, 36, had been behind bars for repeatedly beating his girlfriend, Racheal Abraham, in August 2022, when the now-defunct group of police abolitionists set him free, according to oregonlive.com “The Portland Freedom Fund, thinking it knew better than law enforcement professionals, decided to bail him out,” senior prosecutor Melissa Marrero said at his sentencing hearing Tuesday. “It cost her her life.”

The top legal reporter for Politico.com apparently suggested Tuesday a person can be legally shot for asking questions at the doorsteps of businesses.
“At some point, the amateur effort to knock on doors of home daycares intersects with robust stand-your-ground laws,” said a X message from Josh Gerstein, Politico’s “Senior Legal Affairs Reporter.”
The threat was likely aimed at independent journalist Nick Shirley, who has precipitated a storm in the mainstream media about large-scale fraud and corruption by ethnic Somali business owners in Minnesota. Many establishment sites, including Politico, have ignored or downplayed the report,

Fewer Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week as layoffs remain low despite a weakening labor market.
U.S. applications for jobless claims for the week ending Dec. 27 fell by 16,000 to 199,000 from the previous week’s 215,000, the Labor Department reported Wednesday. Analysts surveyed by the data firm FactSet forecast 208,000 new applications.
The weekly report was released a day early due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
Applications for unemployment aid are viewed as a proxy for layoffs and are close to a real-time indicator of the health of the job market.

It is absolutely true that Nick Shirley's one-day video blitz investigation of Somali daycares in Minnesota produced insufficient evidence to put anybody in jail.
It's even possible that he made a mistake or two, although given what we already know, the preponderance of the evidence says that most of these daycares are shell companies that exist only to fleece the government. It's not like Shirley's video is the only evidence—the US Attorney is actively prosecuting cases, and now citizen journalists around the country are revealing fake Somali daycares.
The State of Minnesota has taken the database of daycares offline, and already, legislators in other states are scrambling to hide

WASHINGTON — The US Department of Health and Human Services is freezing all future child care funding to states beyond Minnesota, with President Trump predicting his administration will find massive fraud in California.
The review of government funding started in Minnesota but will be expanded nationwide until feds can determine that no taxpayer dollars are being spent fraudulently.
“HHS has a clear duty to verify the proper use of taxpayer funds,” spokesman Andrew Nixon said in a statement. “The documentation process exists to rule out fraud and confirm that funds are supporting legitimate child care providers.

President Trump has announced that there will be a temporary change to how his administration is deploying National Guard troops in some blue cities to shore up safety, and aid local municipalities in repatriating criminal illegal aliens as we move into 2026.
Trump shared the move in a post on Wednesday afternoon to followers of his Truth Social account.
"We are removing the National Guard from Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland, despite the fact that CRIME has been greatly reduced by having these great Patriots in those cities,"

Whaddaya know – Donald Trump has told the truth about Jeffrey Epstein. So says the Wall Street Journal, which hasn't exactly been a friendly source for Trump or the administration the past couple of years, especially on the Epstein Files.
In fact, their "exclusive" report today springboards off of one of their inglorious moments on this subject – their breathless report on Jeffrey Epstein's birthday book in 2003. The WSJ claimed that Trump had created a message within a sketch of a naked woman, with his signature representing pubic hair. Trump threatened to sue the WSJ for that claim, and strenuously denied ever creating the message

Democrat historians outnumber Republican historians by somewhere between 8 to 1 and 19 to 1. The disparity is even worse than those ratios suggest, since many of the Democrat historians are not just Democrats, but hard-left ones, while virtually none of the few Republican historians are hard-right.
There’s a name for hard-left historians. They’re called “tenured professors” and we pay their salaries and give them summers off. There’s also a name for hard-right historians. They’re called “Uber drivers” and we pay their salaries, too, but they don’t get their summers off.

Every few weeks, like clockwork, another so-called “civil war” breaks out on the right. It’s always framed as some moral emergency, some existential crisis that absolutely must be addressed right here and right now. And almost every time, when you peel back the layers, it’s the same story and the same people causing the divide. No, it’s not some organic grassroots outrage, and it’s never a real scandal. What it is, is power games, political positioning, and people trying to kneecap the parts of the right-wing movement they don’t control: MAGA.

Long before Jordan Peterson was telling young men to “make their bed,” wise matriarchs were imposing this “rule for life” on their households for ages. It’s a good rule, but particularly this time of year, as we enter 2026 and start thinking about lofty goals and resolutions. I’d suggest — just as your mother might have — before deciding on any big changes, to start with your bedroom.
The New Year presents itself as a chance for us to turn the page, to change the things we don’t like about ourselves, and that can be overwhelming — to the point that many people don’t even make New Year’s resolutions

Terrifying footage from a southern Nevada home surveillance video shows the moment a car crashes through a backyard wall, goes airborne and ejects the driver into a private swimming pool.
The incident happened late Dec. 15 in Laughlin, according to FOX 5 Las Vegas. According to police and a crash report seen by the outlet, the driver was allegedly speeding moments before failing to stop and slammed into and through the concrete wall.
Footage also shows the impact sending the white vehicle rotating through the air in the dark.

It might seem that public policy insanity has reached an end in California. After all, what more could the state’s malevolent progressive politics concoct to make it more hostile to business, innovation, enterprise, and hard work than it already is? How about a tax on those who drive the economy? Yes, that should do it.
The Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West and St. John’s Community Health in Los Angeles have teamed up to concoct the 2026 Billionaire Tax Act, a citizen-initiated statute that might appear on the ballot next November. Should it pass, it would levy a “one-time 5% tax on California billionaires in this emergency

The Justice Department is buried in about 5.2 million pages of documents potentially related to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein -- and it might take until late January to complete the review. The latest figure, reported by the New York Times on Tuesday, indicates the task before DOJ is even more daunting than the department signaled it would be last week, when it revealed "over a million" pages of possible Epstein files material had been uncovered by the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office.

On the first day of Hanukkah, 2025, the world witnessed another needless, avoidable tragedy — this time an Islamic mass shooting, which erupted on the coast of Bondi Beach, Australia.
Twenty-two lives were gunned down mercilessly by a father-son duo of destruction, radical militants who had immigrated to the Land Down Under not looking for a better life, but committed to taking others in the furtherance of jihad.
Both tragic and outrageous, Western leaders have been welcoming a massive invasion of violent third-world peasants with no interest in integrating into their host countries.
As expected, pundits and commentators pointed out at great length

California residents will be impacted by more than 900 new laws effective January 1, 2026. Because we need 900 new laws in the leading regulatory hell state in the nation. Because the cost of living in California is so high, Democrat lawmakers think increasing the minimum wage to $16.90 per hour will help hourly workers afford a median-priced $900,000 home. Even if that hourly-worker put in a full-time year, they will only make $35,152, which is less than $3,000 monthly, which barely covers the cost of a studio apartment.

For the purpose of media accountability, Just Facts has summarized 40 misleading claims spread by journalists, commentators, and so-called fact checkers during 2025.
Each example quotes a specific media outlet, but the vast bulk of these falsehoods and half-truths were spread by multiple news sources, and some were propagated by dozens.
1: Climate Change & Biodiversity Loss
An Associated Press article published by PBS in December claimed that “climate change” is making “biodiversity loss worse.”
In fact, a prestigious scholarly journal published a study in October that found “extinctions related to climate change have not significantly increased over the last approximately 200 years.” Just Facts documented similar facts more than a decade ago.

Some of us have been sounding the alarm bells on the following massive fraud scheme that's about to hit Minnesota like a January blizzard. Tim Walz and the Democrats who run the state approved "family leave" legislation that would, ostensibly, give Minnesota workers up to 20 weeks of paid leave for the birth of a child or to care for a spouse, child, or other family member with a serious health condition. But as this writer noted earlier this month, it's fertile ground for another round of billions of dollars of fraud, courtesy the Minnesota taxpayer.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy hammered California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) on Tuesday, accusing him of lying about a supposed extension for revoking thousands of commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) issued to non-citizens.
Duffy has long been trying to crack down on the practice of issuing CDLs to truckers who, at times, struggle to understand English or read basic road signs. As common sense would dictate, having such drivers on the road is a dangerous (and sometimes deadly) proposition.
The Secretary's fiery retort follows a report that the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) was granting a 60-day extension to approximately 17,000 non-domiciled CDL holders.

For years, we have been writing about the fact that China’s dominance of critical mineral mining and, especially, processing is a threat to our national security. It is also a scandal: we have plenty of minerals in the U.S., but we don’t mine them–or, at least, we don’t develop new mines to take advantage of our resources. Because environmentalists–the Democratic Party–won’t allow it. Thus, we have abdicated control over our economy and our children’s future to the Chinese Communist Party.

Minnesota’s welfare fraud scandals dominate the national news, and calls are rising for Governor Tim Walz to resign. The Minnesota Star Tribune, a longtime DFL mouthpiece that is now run by a former Walz cabinet member, is doing its best to fend off criticism of the Walz regime. Deena Winter, a Star Tribune reporter, evidently was assigned that task. In the Shirley video, he has a colleague who is identified only as “David.” Winter apparently thought

Well, this is certainly different – a federal court has actually ruled in favor of the Trump administration, handing down a decision Monday that will allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to use Medicaid data to track down and deport illegal aliens starting January 6. The ruling comes after 22 blue states, led by California, sued the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) back in July, arguing that the administration's mass transfer of Medicaid data to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) illegally exposed confidential health information, including immigration status. The lawsuit was filed after HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., authorized a data transfer

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit accusing Virginia of unlawfully granting illegal aliens in-state resident discounts on college tuition.
The state’s education code classifies illegal immigrants as Virginia residents, qualifying them for reduced in-state tuition costs, the lawsuit claims. This policy therefore allows illegals to access benefits not available to most other Americans, making it “not only wrong but illegal,” the DOJ stated. “Federal law prohibits States from providing aliens who are not lawfully present in the United States with any postsecondary education benefit that is denied to U.S. citizens,” the court documents read. “There are no exceptions. Virginia violates it nonetheless.

Westminster, Colorado, police warned drivers Monday that warming up your car by leaving it running unattended — “puffing” — is illegal under state law and makes vehicles “easy targets” for thieves.
The reminder is part of a broader push by Colorado law enforcement to cut down on cold-weather auto thefts tied to idling cars left unattended in driveways and parking lots. Colorado’s “unattended motor vehicle” statute requires drivers in charge of an unlocked vehicle to stop the engine and remove the key before leaving it, with a limited exception for remote starter systems if the driver takes security measures. “Puffing is also ILLEGAL in Colorado (immobilizing remote start systems excluded)

With New York about to embark on a dangerous voyage piloted by Zohran Mamdani, a singularly radical mayor hell-bent on shredding the policies that have kept Gotham afloat, now is a good time to explore how the city got into and out of earlier mayoral-made crises.
Over the past 50 years, national recessions, Wall Street crashes and the horrors of 9/11 took turns challenging New Yorkers’ legendary toughness.
But during that span, there have been just two clear brushes with civic collapse.
These were not solitary events, nor did they result from national policies or mistakes made by people living outside the five boroughs.
