In-state college tuition for California’s
undocumented students is illegal, Trump

The Trump administration filed a federal suit Thursday against California and its public university systems, alleging the practice of offering in-state college tuition rates to undocumented immigrants who graduate from California high schools is illegal. The suit, which named Gov. Gavin Newsom, state Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta, the UC Board of Regents, the Cal State University Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors for the California Community Colleges, also seeks to end provisions in the California Dream Act that allow students who lack documentation to apply for state-funded financial aid. “California is illegally discriminating against American students and families by offering exclusive tuition benefits for non-citizens,”

Comments:

California has numerous laws that enshrine illegal aliens as having more privilege and rights than American citizens. Gavin Newsom approves.

Aside from the tuition, just being there in an undocumented status is also illegal. The sad part is that the education itself is nearly worthless.

Suit will probably be dismissed on the basis of no standing. It was fun anyway.

In 2018, as California was laying the groundwork to build a new 911 system for the state, a massive fire ripped through Butte County, decimating several Northern California communities and killing over 80 people. The devastating Camp Fire, which wiped out cell towers and hampered emergency communication during critical hours, was on everyone’s minds as the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services worked to design the state’s future emergency communication system. Between 2019 and 2025, California paid four technology companies over $450 million to build out its Next Generation 911 system, But when the time came to turn that system on, it didn’t work.

Military investigations have reportedly revealed that Hamas spent years collecting sensitive intelligence on IDF bases and equipment, especially tanks and their operations, from soldiers’ social media activity, allowing the terror group to disable tanks and raid army bases during its October 7, 2023, onslaught in southern Israel. Army Radio reported Sunday that a specialized Hamas intelligence unit built a detailed database over several years by piecing together thousands of social media posts by soldiers, including photos and videos, specifically focusing on the Merkava Mark 4 tank — the most advanced armored vehicle in the IDF’s arsenal. According to the report, Hamas learned about a hidden kill switch on the tank

Jones Plastic & Engineering, a Kentucky company that got its start making plastic bottle caps for whiskey bottles, has been working with GE Appliances for four decades. But the family-owned business plans to expand to accommodate more demand for its control panels and other parts from GE Appliances, which is shifting production of all its front-load washing machines and dryers from China to a new $490 million factory in Louisville, Ky. “It’s a big deal for us,” said Ryan Jones, chief operating officer. GE Appliances on Thursday announced $150 million in new contracts to 18 suppliers in 10 states.

A federal appeals court temporarily blocked a judge’s order on Thursday that had called for the release of hundreds of people arrested by immigration agents in the Chicago area. The administrative stay issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, which the Trump administration requested, halts the release of those detainees while the government’s appeal moves forward. Appellate judges are scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case on Dec. 2. Judge Jeffrey Cummings of the U.S. District Court ordered that most of the detainees in a group of 615 people be released on bond by this Friday while their immigration cases move forward.

DoorDash’s bid to expand its San Francisco food delivery service with airborne drones survived its first major challenge Wednesday when the city’s Board of Appeals upheld a ruling that confirms current zoning allows DoorDash to test delivery drones. The Teamsters Local 665 argued that outdoor drones testing doesn’t qualify as “laboratory use” under city zoning rules for DoorDash’s warehouse at 1960 Folsom Street in the Mission District. They warned that what begins as research could evolve into a drone operation whizzing through one of the city’s densest neighborhoods.

Billionaire hedge fund founder-turned-environmental advocate Tom Steyer is running for governor of California – an announcement that comes as little to no surprise following his recent ad buys in support of Proposition 50 during the state’s special election on redistricting. Speculations that Steyer, who also ran for president in 2020, may be eyeing another foray into politics began swirling immediately after he announced plans to drop $12 million on ads to support California Democrats’ mid-decade redistricting effort several weeks ago. Those speculations were confirmed Wednesday, Nov. 19, when Steyer, 68, formally announced his candidacy for governor. The Democrat is a vocal critic of President Donald Trump.

Hundreds of State Department employees will receive restitution after an internal review under Secretary Marco Rubio found they were denied promotions during the Biden administration for not meeting new diversity, equity and inclusion standards. In addition to removing the diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) precept from the State Department’s promotion process, officials said roughly 295 employees who were marked down for not showing they would "seek diversity in staff" will now receive pay increases, administrative promotions and letters of commendation. "The Trump administration is providing restitution to State Department employees who were adversely impacted by the previous administration’s ideological agenda," a State Department official said.

The state department is proposing to suspend 38 universities including Harvard and Yale from a federal research partnership program because they engage in diversity, equity and inclusion hiring practices, according to an internal memo and spreadsheet obtained by the Guardian. The memo, dated 17 November, recommends excluding institutions from the Diplomacy Lab – a program that pairs university researchers with state department policy offices – if they “openly engage in DEI hiring practices” or set DEI objectives for candidate pools. Elite institutions including Stanford University, Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, Duke University and the University of Southern California are among those marked for suspension, effective 1 January 2026.

The Encinitas Union School District withdrew its appeal of a ruling in a gender ideology lawsuit. Instead, the San Diego County district will comply with a lower federal court decision and notify parents and provide opt-outs for parents in gender ideology lessons and programs, according to district officials and lawyers representing the plaintiffs. The lawsuit, filed September 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, alleges that the school district violated parents’ and students’ First Amendment rights by compelling students’ speech. The school district required fifth-grade students in an elementary school buddy program to teach kindergarten students, whom they were paired with, about gender identity

Nearly 14 million Ecuadorans will vote on four questions that will decide how the country tackles rampant drug violence and addresses economic reforms. Voters will decide on the presence of foreign military bases, which have been banned on Ecuadoran soil since 2008. A "Yes" vote would likely bring the return of the US military to the Manta airbase on the Pacific coast -- once a hub for US anti-drug operations. Other questions concern ending public funding for political parties, reducing the number of lawmakers, and creating an elected body that would draft a new constitution.

An Illinois congressman is pushing to expand testing options at U.S. service academies, a move experts say could revive academic rigor and expand access for classical students. U.S. Rep. Mary Miller, R-Illinois, introduced legislation that would require the nation’s military academies, including West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy, to accept the Classic Learning Test (CLT) as an alternative to the ACT and SAT. “America’s service academies should represent the highest ideals of our nation – courage, integrity, and intellect. The CLT focuses on classic Western texts and promotes critical thinking and moral reasoning. While 200–300 colleges accept it, military academies still require the ACT or SAT.

First, I am not a doctor, but I have medical experience in Respiratory Therapy. When the COVID-19 “Flu” emerged, I knew that an effective vaccine could not have been manufactured and tested effectively in that amount of time. I also knew that the 6-foot distancing rule was nothing more than political and social theatre. The mask fiasco was not only unnecessary, but it created more problems than it solved. Rebreathing damp, contaminated carbon dioxide-laden (CO2) air can lead to hypercapnia and even hypoxia. For these reasons, neither my better half nor I received the jab or ever wore a mask, and when we did experience the COVID “flu,” it lasted

It ain’t so much the things we don’t know that — Mark Twain (attributed) What’s the one thing everyone knows about capitalism? Why, that it started out as a mean, nasty tool of greedy industrialists, of course. “The Industrial Revolution,” we all learned, was a terrible Moloch that devoured children, put profits before people, and, though it made great fortunes (or, perhaps, partly because it made great fortunes), was a wicked development. The Industrial Revolution, we’ve all been taught, was the original sin of capitalism, necessary, perhaps, to prime the engine of economic progress, but lamentable nevertheless.

And yes, the media was still trying to confect out of the juvenile blatherings of Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes a major split in MAGA.
