Young children at a non-public charter school sanctioned by the Ohio Department of Education are taught to memorize sections of the Quran.
The Islamic Center of Mason Learning Academy was founded by Anila Zindani, a mother who wanted to teach her son the Islamic religious text.
“Oh my God, it means the whole world to me,” she said in an interview with WCPO-TV. “This school is really special.” A reporter for the outlet noted that the mosque adjacent to the school is currently undergoing a $12 million expansion, which will include new classrooms for the school. They are still raising millions of dollars for the project.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem is reportedly considering hiring private contractors to locate and track illegal aliens across the country.
According to a leaked DHS procurement document obtained by The Intercept, ICE plans to outsource “Skip Tracing and Process Serving Services” to private firms, providing them with government data on batches of 10,000 immigrants at a time, with potential escalations up to 1,000,000 cases.
The proposal includes an “incentive-based pricing structure” with “monetary bonuses” for high performance, such as pinpointing a target’s address on the first try or successfully locating 90% of assigned individuals within deadlines.

The Trump administration’s latest attempts to curtail press leaks disallows White House reporters from accessing the inner offices of senior communication officials in the West Wing in order to protect national security secrets.
A memo released to the reporters Friday evening addressed from the National Security Council (NSC) to President Donald Trump’s White House Communications Director Steven Cheung and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt states reporters should no longer freely walk into their offices, known as “Upper Press,” located in Room 140, just feet away from the Oval Office.
The White House’s communications staff has also begun directing communications for the National Security Council due to a recent “structural change,” the memo states.

Joining at least two other Democrat-run states, Illinois lawmakers passed a bill on Friday prohibiting federal immigration agents from arresting illegal aliens near and around state courthouses.
The Illinois bill, sent to anti-Trump Gov. JB Pritzker for signing, not only seeks to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations inside courthouses but establishes a 1,000-foot “buffer zone” outside of buildings, Capitol News Illinois reported.
The bill also would allow Illinois residents to bring lawsuits against agents whom they allege violated their constitutional rights, including for due process and unreasonable search and seizures.

Oregon state Rep. Dwayne Yunker began asking questions when he discovered the state was using tax dollars to bring developmentally disabled clients to a strip club this past summer.
Yunker—a Republican lawmaker in a very blue state with a Democrat super majority in the legislature—has exposed this and other controversial Medicaid spending in the state that has little or nothing to do with medical or health issues.
On Monday, he will be in Washington meeting with members of Congress and Trump administration officials about looking into how his state—and likely others—are spending Medicaid dollars. Medicaid is a joint federal-state program intended to cover health care coverage

Former President Bill Clinton showed up at the finish line of the New York City Marathon on Sunday with a mysterious injury to his nose as he hugged daughter and participant Chelsea.
The 79-year-old ex-president, who suffered a health scare last year that left him hospitalized with a fever and suspected dehydration, was seen with a bandage wrapped around the tip of his nose during his embrace of Chelsea, 45, who has run several marathons in recent years.
It is not immediately clear what caused Clinton’s injury. Accompanying him Sunday to cheer on Chelsea was wife Hillary.

An explosion rocked a Harvard Medical School building early Saturday morning, while Boston police have now released surveillance footage of the two suspects.
The unknown device exploded on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building on the Harvard Longwood Campus’s main quad shortly before 3 a.m., The Harvard Crimson reported citing authorities.
Two individuals were witnessed running out of the building at the time of the detonation, the outlet said, citing the Harvard University Police Department. An officer with the university failed in an attempt to stop them, before entering the building to check on the alarm, The Boston Globe reported.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) published “Islamophobia: A Guide for U.S. Catholics on Anti-Muslim Bigotry.” Showcased on the USCCB website with a lovely Islamic design cover, this 15-page booklet exhorts Catholics to “address the disturbing phenomenon of anti-Muslim sentiment in our times.”
Introduced by the co-chairs of the National Catholic-Muslim Dialogue (NCMD) — Bishop Elias Lorenzo of Newark and Imam Kareem Irfan — the USCCB declares dire need to counter “the rising tide of anti-Muslim sentiment that has been present for decades.”

The story of George Franklin Grant, a dentist, academic, and recreational golfer, is interesting.
This isn’t just because he, a Harvard professor, invented a wood-composite golf tee in 1899.
It’s that under many Americans’ conception of history, he shouldn’t even have existed.
You see, Grant was a successful black man in the U.S. almost 100 years before the civil-rights era or the birth of affirmative action.
Yes, you read that right. Grant was admitted to Harvard Dental School in 1868 and then became Harvard University’s first black faculty member in 1871.
Grant wasn’t alone, either (except in his golf-invention exploits).
By 1920, there were 3,560 black physicians in America, a figure including 65 black women.

International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union President Sean O’Brien stood with Trump administration officials this week to call on Democrats to end the government shutdown for the sake of the American people.
Unfortunately, Democrats started this whole shutdown because they don’t care about Americans; they prefer to hold the federal government hostage to insist on healthcare for illegal aliens and loads of unnecessary pork funding for foreign nations. But even many of the Democrats’ voters are upset now with the possible end to welfare benefits, and O’Brien urged Democrats to face reality and do their jobs.
While O’Brien is not explicitly Republican or MAGA,

On Saturday, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced an emergency order, with a city-wide curfew for anyone under 18, beginning Saturday night.
The curfew will go into effect at 11pm Nov. 1, through 6am the next morning, and will continue nightly until Nov. 5. The order gives Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith the power to identify “high risk” areas in the city, where she can begin the curfew as early as 6pm. (image)
The emergency action by the DC Mayor is in response to chaos in the streets in/around the Navy Yard area where five teens were arrested and the National Guard were forced to break up several fights

Donald Trump has demanded that the Senate abolish the filibuster. [Truth]
"THE CHOICE IS CLEAR – INITIATE THE ‘NUCLEAR OPTION,’ GET RID OF THE FILIBUSTER," Trump demanded.
The Senate Republicans politely declined to cooperate. A spokesman for Senate Republican Majority Leader John Thune remained unmoved: “Leader Thune’s position on the importance of the legislative filibuster is unchanged." Thune has consistently spoken against ending the filibuster or reforming it.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who doesn't have stake in the debate, nevertheless pointed out the consequences of getting rid of the filibuster, listing action items the Democrats would be able to pass with a simple majority.

A Pennsylvania diocese has apologized for a shocking grade school Halloween parade float that displayed a replica of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp gate.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg formally apologized Friday for the offensive float’s appearance during Thursday evening’s Halloween parade.
Bishop Timothy Senior said he was “shocked and appalled to learn” the float entered by the St. Joseph Catholic School in Hanover, which resembled the Auschwitz Concentration Camp gate, included the words “Arbeit Macht Frei.”
The German phrase — translating to “Work Makes You Free” — was prominently displayed at World War II-era concentration camps across Europe, including the front gate at Auschwitz, where more than 1 million people were executed

Each decade, after the decennial census has concluded, states draw new maps to divide themselves into political districts for electing representatives to state legislatures and Congress. This process is called redistricting or apportionment.
California has such a map, drawn by the members of the Citizens Redistricting Commission in 2020. If Proposition 50 passes on Tuesday, it will mandate a substitute congressional district map drawn by the California Legislature.
But a lawsuit before the U.S. Supreme Court may put the legitimacy of Prop 50’s maps in jeopardy should it pass, along with many other district maps nationwide.

Former CIA Director John Brennan snapped at a man who confronted him for signing the infamous letter in 2020 that claimed the bombshell Hunter Biden email scandal exposed by The Post had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Brennan, 70, grew visibly incensed and angrily got in the face of the man who pressed about the letter, poking him on the chest repeatedly before backing off.
“You misrepresented that,” Brennan shouted at conservative national security consultant Thomas Speciale during the tense clash.
“We never said it was disinformation; we said it was Russian influence operations, which is what they do. There’s a big difference,” he added.

There was a lot to digest online this week. There’s a brutal, merciless slaughter of civilians in Nigeria and Sudan.
The silence is deafening. Civilian men, women, and children are being slaughtered in Sudan. Estimates of over 150,000 killed & 14 million displaced since April 2023. Considered the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. No mass protests. No daily political statements/demands. No college campus encampments.
More is unraveling about Arctic Frost, in which the fanatical prosecutor Jack Smith, with the aid of a fiercely partisan Judge James Boasberg, surveilled 20% of the Republican senators, their donors, media companies, including Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, OANN, and Sinclair, and conservatives

Since Ukraine eased travel restrictions to allow men aged between 18 and 22 to go abroad, more and more young Ukrainians are applying for temporary protection in Germany. What are their reasons for coming? Almost 1.3 million Ukrainian refugees have come to Germany since Russia launched its war of aggression against their country in February 2022. At the start of October 2025, the central register of foreign nationals recorded 1,293,672 individuals who had been granted temporary protection since the war began. Until recently, the majority were Ukrainian women with children, or pensioners. Now, though, large numbers of men under the age of 22 have begun to arrive.

"Indiana Jones" star Harrison Ford told The Guardian on Friday that he doesn't "know of a greater criminal in history" than President Donald Trump, criticizing him for failing to address climate change.
Ford said to The Guardian that Trump "doesn’t have any policies, he has whims. It scares the s--- out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo, and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket."
"It's unbelievable," he added. "I don’t know of a greater criminal in history."

Regrets, Kevin Roberts has a few.
The president of the Heritage Foundation stepped into a maelstrom when he came to the defense of Tucker Carlson this week after Carlson's friendly interview with Nick Fuentes, the 26-year-old white nationalist popular on the far right for his avowedly antisemitic views. It started with a video Roberts posted to X.
“Not as many people as I thought,” he told RealClearPolitics in a Saturday interview, “were ready for a little bit of nuance.”
Roberts told RCP that the backlash has further clarified something that he already believed, namely that antisemitism has become “a much more pronounced problem on part of the right.”
