Earlier this month, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) published “Islamophobia: A Guide for U.S. Catholics on Anti-Muslim Bigotry.” Showcased on the USCCB website with a lovely Islamic design cover, this 15-page booklet exhorts Catholics to “address the disturbing phenomenon of anti-Muslim sentiment in our times.”
Introduced by the co-chairs of the National Catholic-Muslim Dialogue (NCMD) — Bishop Elias Lorenzo of Newark and Imam Kareem Irfan — the USCCB declares dire need to counter “the rising tide of anti-Muslim sentiment that has been present for decades.”

Religious communities in America have to and do answer questions about what they believe. We Catholics are always doing that; so are the Mormons; the Anglicans turn handflips so no one thinks they whatever. Jews do also. Islam has not begun the process and is flinching from it. But there is no other way. What about Aisha, is that kind of marriage still a thing? What about slavery, is that still OK in principle? What about trying to conquer everybody at the edge of a blade? What about the anti Semitism? What about the religious triumphalism? What about the international links? .... You can't join the mainstream until everybody kind of knows all those answers. Every Body Else Already Did It. It is not giving in to bigotry. It is respect for others.

The Catholic Church is building on an infamous history: sell of indulgences, support of and helping Nazi's escape to S. America, homosexuality, poor financial stewardship, and support for open borders. This seems an anthology of the failures of human nature, rather than biblical orthodoxy.

These bishops need to recognize that Islam is Satanic, and the mortal enemy of all Christians.
Their willfull blindness is suicidal.

Calling itself a religion does make it one. It's political system not unlike fascism. Read it's history of death and oppression. This will tell what's current in the muslim world. http://thereligionofpeace.com/

As has been noted every organization that isn't specifically conservative will eventually become left-wing. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is not an exception to this rule. Islam requires that its adherents work tirelessly and over centuries to remove all other religions and their followers from the face of the earth. It has done so persuasively at times but most often through violence and subjugation. People hope that Islam undergoes a moderating reformation. The truth is that a reformation occurred during my lifetime and that reformation is one that moved Islam of the last century from a passive sort of acquiescence of their countries' inferior place in the world to a highly energetic jihad to impose their lousy religion on the entire planet. So far that reformation is working splendidly and is helped along by the West, including these Catholic bishops, that increasingly is suicidal.

I have a moral defect? Well....so be it. I'm not Catholic but I have always thought that if I'm told ad nauseum that there are people who want to murder me (and others) it's in my best interest to take them at their word and believe what they're saying. So....I choose to retain my defect as a means to aid in self-preservation. I make no apologies.

Everywhere across the world where muslims have moved in to other countries, they rape many women and even young girls and often kill people for no reason whatsoever. They do very little of that here because American men will not put up with it. We will return the violence if our leaders won't protect decent people. If that makes me an islamophobe, I'm proud of it. If they start burning catholic churches and those huge homes that house their bishops, the catholic church will change its tune.

What on earth has happened to the Catholic church. Wen I went to St. Aloysius, the Spanish nuns taught that only Catholic can go to heaven. I never really bought that because not everyone has been exposed to Catholicism. Now I'm in trouble if I don't forgive Muslims who attack, maim and kill everyone who isn't Muslim? What on earth is going on in Rome? Are they prepping for a Muslim pope? Don't laugh, at this point I don't think it's out of the question.

Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.

U.S. Bishops helping to sharpen the scimitars with which they will be beheaded. All in the name of some twisted interpretation of the Gospel.

Islam is more like a murderous cult disguising itself as a religion. Say that in the UK and you will be hauled in front of a magistrate.

I believe I've read that - in Europe - the mosques are crowded and the churches are empty. Wonder why?

The Church left Christendom with the adoption of Vatican 2! John 23 started the downfall into the garbage the Priesthood has become. Overcome and ruled by Homosexual Paedophiles, the priesthood has doomed the Church! This adoration of the EVIL which is Islam is the final nail!
There will never be peace on this earth until such time as Islam is entirely annihilated!

The problem with Catholic Church leadership is that they willfully live in a bubble. Everything is supplied for them and many eventually develop a sense of entitlement and take liberties that normal working people just don't. I grew up in a small mining town where everybody worked hard, came home dirty and tired and had modest homes and possessions. The priest, on the other hand, had a sports car, a fancy Jeep, a boat, a large home with caretakers and took big game hunting and fishing trips every year. As far as I knew, he was not a pedophile but he did irritate me when he gave the "give more money" sermons.

The Catholic Bishops and their NGO's helped to fill this country with illegals including Muslims and now they want Catholics to love people who want me dead or enslaved. The catholic Church is suffering from a lack of participation, and a lack of young people in attendance. They had better wake up or that lack will continue. The Pope is at the head of this great love for Muslims. It is getting harder to go to Church every Sunday.

They act as if they think that coddling the attacking force will gain "better" treatment for themselves and their church. Perhaps it will - gain them a swift decapitation rather than death from a thousand cuts.

Christians (and Jews) are right to be anti-Islam, a religion that wants to kill those who won't convert.

This is more blather from the Synodal, progressive, post Vatican II Ape of the Church. This is not the Catholic Church of the Traditional Latin Mass, where Saint Francis tried to convert Muslims, and Catholics fought at the Battles of Lepanto, Vienna and the Crusades.
Pray for the Church. Whether one is Catholic or not it affects You. Read Infiltration by Dr. Taylor Marshall to understand what is going on with the Vatican. Fatima, Akita and the Vision of Leo XIII.

Islam is spread by the sword. At various points in history, Our Lord has helped vastly outnumbered Christian coalitions to stop it in its tracks (Battle of Lepanto, for one). Prayer and sacrifice, folks, prayer and sacrifice. Islam isn't just about Mohammed--it's about Ishmael and his connection to Abraham and the holy land. It is totally incompatible with Christianity.
