So What Is This ‘Come to Pete’ Meeting, Exactly?

Original Article

Some really big news in the American military community broke this week, as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is convening an unprecedented meeting of his senior generals and admirals in Quantico, Virginia, on Tuesday, September 30th. As the proprietor of a somewhat prolific X account that largely focuses on military matters, many people have been asking me what I think this meeting is all about, as the meeting is currently shrouded in mystery. So what do I think?

The only thing that troubles me about his scenario is that back in the 80's, every time President Reagan went on TV and gave a speech, within hours our base was put on full alert and we practiced full blow war, with the first shift 24 hours and 12-16 thereafter. Sleep was on the ground, in a corner or a chair if you were lucky. Chow for the first few days was what you squirreled away in your duffel bag. Sometimes it lasted for a week or more. It got to where I dreaded those speeches. Can you imagine the alerts a speech like this might cause? Glad I'm retired.

Personally, I feel like he's not going to wait for some of these people to resign. I think the purpose of the meeting has been kept secret so as to not give the DEI appointees a chance to coordinate a response to save their butts. I would not be at all surprised to see those people fired right there and then as an example to the rest. We'll see.

I am with #2 and hope that SecWar will call out a few names during the meeting, telling them they can pick up their labeled retirement packets from the table in the corner. Public firings have a way of focusing the minds of other wannabes.

The authors imagined scenario sounds like Pete is laying down the law. It’s sounds like he’s drawn al line in the sand. But i am hoping it’s more harsh and that “those whom Pete’s giving one last chance” are NOT given that chance and that they are fired on the spot and humiliated in front of all the others. They have had a year since the election and if they still are acting like politicians, it’s over for them.

A fun and entertaining proposal for what may happen on September 30th. I just realized the meeting conveniently falls on the last day of this fiscal quarter. Is this a portent? I agree with this author's assessment that the room will be filled with both warfighters and fat bureaucrats that get to wear spiffy uniforms. I believe there will be a lot of fat cut away on that day.

How many of today’s be medaled Admirals and Generals have ever won a real war? That’s an easy one, none of them. So why are they wearing up to ten rows of ribbons and all sorts of other badges on their uniforms that put the old Second World War Soviet Marshals who commanded the Red Army against the Nazis to shame? Take a look at the real admirals and Generals who won the Second World War, like General Eisenhower, who was the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, after that war he wore only two or three rows of ribbons on his uniform. Hopefully Hegseth knows full well that today’s Admirals and Generals, for the most part, are politicians in uniform, and do not think that any US elected civilian should dare to tell them how they should operate.

A Trump administration official was physically assaulted by a "deranged leftist" inside the United Nations Thursday afternoon during the gathering of the UN General Assembly, Fox News Digital has learned. An official working in international relations for the Department of Health and Human Services was in New York City serving in a support role for HHS Secretary Robert F. The White House is telling federal agencies to prepare large-scale firings of workers if the government shuts down next week in a partisan fight over spending plans – prompting the Democrats to accuse Donald Trump of intimidation tactics. In a memo released on Wednesday night, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said agencies should consider a reduction in force for federal programs whose funding would lapse next week, is not otherwise funded and is “not consistent with the president’s priorities.” That would be a much more aggressive step than in previous shutdowns, when federal workers not deemed essential were furloughed but returned to their

Kirk was assassinated on September 10 while he was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. In the aftermath, Dortmund forward Felix Nmecha posted a pair of tributes to Kirk on his Instagram story.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has been under fire from all sides since she released her book on her 2024 run for president. But few have knocked her to the mat faster than former Tennessee Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr. did Tuesday night while appearing on Fox News’s Special Report hosted by Bret Baier. After a discussion about Harris’s new book, 107 Days, Baier asked Ford if he believed she was planning to run for president again in 2028. Ford deadpanned, “It doesn’t matter.”

Common wisdom holds that Democrats are likely to retake the House in next year’s midterms. Perhaps — that’s what history would suggest. But a recent poll shows that Republicans retain relative strength on important core issues. CNN’s Harry Enten summarized those data well in a recent appearance: Looking at the Washington Post/IPSOS poll, Enten found that Republicans retained a lead over Democrats on which party voters trust more to handle the economy, crime and immigration.

Something big is happening with America’s young people. It has been building for the past two years. It centers on faith, purpose, and a renewal toward more traditional American values. This new American youth counterculture movement looks very different from the one that burst onto the scene in the 1960s. Sixty years ago, the youth movement on college campuses set out to upend our culture’s status quo — the rebellion created a seismic cultural and political shift away from post World War II traditionalism.

President Trump wrapped up his speech at Charlie Kirk’s memorial by embracing Kirk’s widow Erika. It was a moment of paternal tenderness after Trump vacillated between extolling Kirk as a “martyr for American freedom” and not so subtly suggesting he and his administration would avenge the murder. In his 42 minutes of wide-ranging remarks, the president described Kirk, who mobilized the youth vote and is credited with helping deliver the electoral victory for Trump, as a “giver much more than a taker” and “master builder of people.”

If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez plans to run for president in 2028, she’s just made the biggest mistake of her political career. That speech of hers will be written in ink, and it will haunt her for years to come. Why? Because she didn’t know the first thing about Charlie Kirk, and everyone who watched her give that speech knows she’s either ignorant or lying. We know that on the Left, they do not believe in any kind of presumption of innocence when it comes to words. Words are harm. Words are violence. Most of all, words define who you are.

As you may have seen, someone fired a hail of bullets at a kids' baseball tournament in Katy, Texas, hitting a coach as he led his team in a pre-game prayer and sending children and their coaches scrambling for cover. The Operation Mockingbird media mudpuppies suggested the gunfire was "target practice" from about 600-700 yards away, or perhaps even just some hunters not being careful. Watch this video and let me know if this sounds like hunters or distant target practice: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has charged two men for the fusillade of bullets they fired at dozens of kids and adults at the Rac baseball complex.
