A kids' baseball coach was leading his team in a pre-game prayer when bullets flew across the Ameripark sports complex, locally known as The Rac, in Katy, Texas.
Players ran as the shots rang out. The team's coach took a bullet to the shoulder. He was evacuated to a hospital by helicopter.
"I have to legit bear crawl to my mom on my arms," Colton Bierman, 11, told a reporter for KPRC.
That's when things got wonky.
I first read NBC's version of this story, and I immediately smelled a sink badger in the perfume aisle.
The Operation Mockingbird mouthpiece suggested, with help from The Rac, that the shooting

The political panel on CNN’s The Arena was purely hinged Thursday afternoon, not only declaring “there’s no evidence” and “no basis” to state the Dallas, Texas Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) facility shooter was on the far left, but also blaming President Trump and the GOP for the rise in political violence....which would include the September 10 assassination of Charlie Kirk. In addition to being reckless and dangerous for failing to recognize the rise in political violence on their side (the left), the claims about the ICE attack motive came over a day after the initial press conference disclosing Wednesday’s attack was motivated by hate

Two days ago, Chuck Schumer threatened Donald Trump with a good time. Now, the White House threatens to make the good time permanent. Literally.
The deadline for a government shutdown is fast approaching, and Schumer tried to play hardball this week. He and Hakeem Jeffries demanded a meeting with Trump to negotiate, which Trump initially accepted, but canceled after the pair demanded a massive list of concessions before the meeting took place. Schumer then told the press that Trump was "chicken" and that any shutdown would be his fault -- even though the House had already passed the clean CR that Schumer had demanded when Joe Biden was president-ish.

So it appears Apple TV+ was going to release a new show this Friday called The Savant. The show stars actress Jessica Chastain as an investigator who profiles and identifies would-be domestic terrorists in an attempt to stop them before they commit violent crimes. But today Apple announced it would be postponing the release of the show, apparently out of concern the the subject matter is too raw after the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone ‘The Savant,'” an Apple TV+ spokesperson said in a statement to Variety. “We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.”

The Center for Strategic & International Studies has a new report out which is making headlines this week. The gist of the report is that, for the first time in decades left-wing terror attacks have outpaced right-wing terror attacks in the United States.
The nature of domestic terrorism has undergone a striking reversal this year, new research indicates: For the first time in more than 30 years, left-wing attacks are outnumbering those from the far right.
The reason that left-wing incidents this year have outpaced right-wing incidents is twofold, the researchers said. First, the number of incidents of right-wing terror plummeted this year to levels

The Trump administration is officially reviewing the safety of abortion drug mifepristone after pressure from Republican lawmakers.
The Food and Drug Administration is initiating the review of mifepristone’s safety months after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promised to undertake the investigation in response to a bombshell study which found that the commonly used abortion drug is much less safe than advertised.

The man who orchestrated a “targeted attack” on a Dallas, Texas, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facility this week searched for apps that track ICE activity, and sought to cause “real terror” among agents, the FBI revealed.
Joshua Jahn, 29, is suspected of shooting at an unmarked transport van driven by an ATF agent on Wednesday, killing one detainee and injuring two others. Jahn took his own life after the attack. Next to his body, authorities found shell casings with anti-ICE messages engraved on them. Authorities have described the shooting as “an attack on ICE law enforcement,” a description bolstered by new evidence

What if I told you that cartels and other bad actors from around the world conspired to undermine the integrity of the health care system in the U.S. and came way too close to succeeding? If you didn’t hear about the bust of 324 people; the U.S.-based cartel shell medical supply companies; the pill mills pushing opioids; the doctors on the take; or how law enforcement captured many of the bad guys at the U.S. border and airports as they rushed to escape, that’s understandable. The feds revealed this potential $14.6 billion "depth charge" planted inside the Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance programs

Rounds found near the body of the suspected shooter in the attack on a Dallas ICE facility Wednesday morning carried anti-ICE messages,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Joe Rothrock revealed during a press conference.
The shooting, which authorities are treating as a “targeted attack,” resulted in the death of one detainees; two other detainees were taken to the hospital, officials said. No law enforcement agents were injured.
The suspected shooter, who opened fire from a rooftop across from the ICE office building, is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As you may remember, Peter Strzok was part of the Mueller investigation until texts between himself and fellow agent Lisa Page were released. Those texts indicated a clear dislike for President Trump that preexisted his involvement in the investigation.
Mr. Strzok was reassigned this summer from Mr. Mueller’s investigation to the F.B.I.’s human resources department, where he has been stationed since. The people briefed on the case said the transfer followed the discovery of text messages in which Mr. Strzok and a colleague reacted to news events, like presidential debates, in ways that could appear critical of Mr. Trump.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host Jimmy Kimmel insisted that he never intended to make light of Charlie Kirk's assassination in comments that led to his show's suspension.
Tuesday night was the first show Kimmel hosted since Disney announced its return on Monday after nearly a week off the air.
Kimmel came out to a standing ovation which continued into chants of "Jimmy! Jimmy! Jimmy!" and ongoing cheering.
"If you are just joining us, we are preempting your regularly scheduled encore episode of 'Celebrity Family Feud,' we’re bringing you this special report," Kimmel opened. "I’m happy to be here with you tonight."
